not really complaining, but the Top 200 forward list was scheduled to be up tuesday afternoon, its well into the night now...
Really, what kind of league has a draft after 2 weeks of the season already played?it would ahve helped...draft started an hour and 45 minutes ago and we are in round 7 now...
wanting to see the Top 200 forward list is not that I actually absolutely need the list by the afternoon, but because I like reading Footballguys content and that Fantasy football's a hobby, its mostly for the fun of seeing the new list.It took me 5 minutes to start writing after i read this. I couldn't stop laughing. You need a top 200 list to figure out who to pick up? You are drafting tonight? What is going on here?edited to add my laughing.
:rotflmao: at 3-4 hours!!What are they out on a boat in the Pacific somewhere??? I'm pretty sure the West Coast is exactly 3 hours behind us -- not between 3 and 4.One thing that should be considered is that this stuff comes out of the West Coast. Dodds is operating some 3-4 hours behind EST.
i'm starting to become a bit fed up with it myselfNo surprise.
They just moved it to "Tuesday evening" content.
I love this site but they are terrible at meeting schedules they set for themselves.
So, instead of thisyou know what? if i were them, i'd post a big red notice on the weekly content letting everyone know these release times are only estimates. either that or just not tell people what's coming when. no one ever promised anything at a particular time, so let's just move on.
They need this?Note 2: Release times are Pacific Time Zones. They are provided as estimates only.
Joe & Dave, feel free to use this if you need it.Note 2: Release times are Pacific Time Zones. They are provided as estimates only.
Your condescending response in an attempt to belittle a totally legitimate observation has led me to believe I have finally made it to the top of the mountain and found the all-knowing fantasy guru. So tell me oh wise one who would never dream of doing anything as menial as referring to a cheatsheet... is it going to rain on Sunday? It took me 5 minutes to start writing after i read this. I couldn't stop laughing. You need a top 200 list to figure out who to pick up? You are drafting tonight? What is going on here?edited to add my laughing.
But it's Wednesday morning in Japan. Then they are very, very, late.Actually, I heard over at Fanball that FBG's is secretly based in Osaka, Japan. Joe is actually Tso. And that's a 14-hour time dif.
yes, that's better. :rotflmao:So, instead of thisyou know what? if i were them, i'd post a big red notice on the weekly content letting everyone know these release times are only estimates. either that or just not tell people what's coming when. no one ever promised anything at a particular time, so let's just move on.They need this?Note 2: Release times are Pacific Time Zones. And that's the rub.Its not so much that its a few hours late. Its a matter of them honoring their word. Earlier this afternoon, the Top 200 were listed as part of the "Tuesday Afternoon" information, not the "Tuesday Night" information. If you say you're going to have it Tuesday Afternoon, have it then. If you can't meet that deadline, don't make it in the first place. I don't even need the top 200 forward, its not a tool I use very much. But if the guys are going to say they'll have it on Tuesday afternoon, they should honor that, not push it back to the Tuesday night group of releases when they realize they can't make their own deadline.I really don't think its too much to ask to expect the staff to meet their own deadlines. Its no huge deal and its not like anyone should be "depending on the weekly top 200," but when they post it for a certain time (Tues. afternoon) and then totally disregard their self-imposed schedule for paying customers, its a letdown. I agree with the other posts that besides frequestly breaking their promises with respect to timing, the site is second to none.
gotta agree 100% with this post. this site is really good but they constantly miss/delay/ or reset timelines(sometimes for days).sometimes the info is posted so late that other sites end up getting their info out hours(if not days) before its posted here.No surprise.
They just moved it to "Tuesday evening" content.
I love this site but they are terrible at meeting schedules they set for themselves.
why did you have to choose that avatar? it's way to hard to stop looking !!!!!!!i want her......and i want her now !!!!!!Bill, I too thought it was a problem but then Im like hey they are on the west coast. Im on the east. Im in the living room crashing watching sports center and then hit the hay. I look forward to it in the morning or at work. The next day. Suspence is a good thing
Under promise and over deliver. An excellent business strategy.I think the best thing to do is say that they are going to put something out later than they actually expect to.
Any mod can delete an Avatar, but only Dodds does the Top 200.My take on this is that I'd rather have him do it right than rush to get it out.I know that it sucks when things are running behind. I'll remind you that if you are truly upset about this, Joe and David are always willing to give refunds.I personally believe it's worth the wait, but I understand where you are coming from on this.LinkAt least they didn't waste any time deleting this guy's avatar.
OK, I made up that story. Heh.When it comes to people upset about the Top 200 Forward each week, it's not about the quality of this site. It's about delivering in a professional manner. Pros deliver on deadline. Take it from somebody who works in the newspaper business.I want my Top 200 Forward on my doorstep by 6 a.m. every morning, if you know what I mean. However, I have a feeling that the behind-the-scenes workings of FBG's is much less "big league" than many users probably think. So being late is understandable. My dad used to always decide at the last second on Christmas Eve that we weren't going to open presents until Christmas Day. FBG's is like Christmas at my house, except EVERY WEEK during football season. And I thought I was all done with therapy.
Realistically, though, I'm afraid that if they were planning something to be out Tuesday evening, and posted that it would be out Wednesday morning, it would then be out Wednesday evening. That's okay, I always turned in my term papers a day late... Who am I to say?I think the best thing to do is say that they are going to put something out later than they actually expect to. This way, when the top 200 is listed on the Wednesday Afternoon content, and it comes out Tuesday night, we won't have a need for these threads week after week, and it will look like FBGs is actually ahead of schedule with subscriber content.
Well, we don't all have ear pieces and dark sunglasses, nor do we have some centralized place to hang out like the Peach Pit, but I think it's fairly advanced.OK, I made up that story. Ah, the old standby for EVERY F'ING thing that comes up. Not sure what else to offer. Like I already stated, to me it's better to be done right than done early. There is a ton of info up in the air regarding injuries right now, so I am sure this week took more than a lot of weeks to work through.PM me if you have any other suggestions, but I think giving people their money back for not receiving the value they were hoping for is a fair compromise.Ah, the old standby for EVERY F'ING thing that comes up. I guess it's not so understandable then.Maybe you need somebody from corporate to fly in and take care of business?Well, we don't all have ear pieces and dark sunglasses, nor do we have some centralized place to hang out like the Peach Pit, but I think it's fairly advanced.OK, I made up that story. I sure hope not, our lease with NetJets is sure to be more costly than expected if we have to fly in the heavy weights every week.I guess it's not so understandable then.Maybe you need somebody from corporate to fly in and take care of business?Well, we don't all have ear pieces and dark sunglasses, nor do we have some centralized place to hang out like the Peach Pit, but I think it's fairly advanced.OK, I made up that story. Dave, I'm sure you're just toting the company line, but it gets a little old. I actually enjoy some of the emails that come on Memorial day and the like, but it just rubs me the wrong way when they start out with, "if you don't like this message, here's where you can go to get a refund." I like the patriotic message. I don't appreciate that every little thing on this site is answered with, "You can have a refund". I take that as a 'shut the ##### up and take your money back'.And yes, I know, if I don't like it, I can have a refund...Not sure what else to offer. Great closing line, I'll add a $1 to your refund just for that I'd like to think that FBG's has made it this far by working harder than everyone else, obviously we can still do better.Dave, I'm sure you're just toting the company line, but it gets a little old. Always with the attitude....right now you may be the best site but summarily dismissing customers with valid complaints, will quickly lead to the competitors closing the gap.It is valid to expect your suppliers to meet their deadlines. Not sure what else to offer. Honestly, what the heck do you guys want him to say? Is there something he can do besides offer a refund? You've gotten what 2 months to read for free, and he's saying hey we're having trouble meeting our deadlines, if you want your money back let us know. What you want him to pay you for you reading for 2 months? How is that in ANY POSSIBLE FORESEEABLE WAY an attitude. If your newspaper is late coming to your house everyday, you can file a complaint and stop subscribing. They probably will not give you any kind of refund. If it is a big enough of a deal to drive down the site and give other sites a boost, than FBGs will slowly fade away unless they do soemthing about it. I think it is VERY polite to offer a full refund at this point simply because an article here and there is a couple hours late. You guys are throwing a fit over spilled milk. Chill.Always with the attitude....right now you may be the best site but summarily dismissing customers with valid complaints, will quickly lead to the competitors closing the gap.It is valid to expect your suppliers to meet their deadlines. Not sure what else to offer. I never said i was a fantasy guru. I just don't understand, why people are complaining about a list being a little late. Why are people drafting 2 weeks after the season started? Sorry that is down right funny to me. And all the other people that have complained about this is unreal. These guys give us every possible piece of information and stats you can think of. And people complaign about something being a little late. too funnyYour condescending response in an attempt to belittle a totally legitimate observation has led me to believe I have finally made it to the top of the mountain and found the all-knowing fantasy guru.
