I admit that I like to check out the Top 250 Forward when analyzing possible trades in my leagues.

I check out what Dodds and the guys think a particular player's value is from here on out.

So if there are big mistakes in there, that could obviously do some damage to me in a trade if I relied on the list.

I don't mean mistakes that are errors in judgment like placing player X at 12th overall among RBs, when others may think he should be 10th. That is a difference of opinion.

I am talking about something along the following lines. (I will only put one of these down since I know there are issues here with giving too much info.)

On the Top 250 Forward, Travis Henry is 21st among all RBs.

According to the Custom Top 250 Forward (the only change I made to this was adding PPR), Travis Henry is 52nd among RBs.

Now I understand that some players values will change if it is standard scoring versus PPR. But that would mean moving up or down a few slots. I can't see how it would mean dropping from 21st overall among RBs to 52nd overall among RBs.

Btw, the Top 250 Forward does come out on Monday nights. While the Custom 250 comes out on Wednesdays. But there has been no new news regarding Henry's situation in between. In fact the latest news (which I could see being the reason he'd be low) is that the NFL is moving forward with his suspension. But that news came out over the weekend - before the 250 or Custom 250.

I guess what I am saying is - I like checking over FBG's stuff. Great content. Tons of it to check out. If I didn't like their stuff, I wouldn't keep coming back for more year after year.

But when relying on a lot of it - it helps if glaring mistakes can be fixed.

I assumed that the "regular" and "custom" used the same basic projections to build the ranking. Unless your scoring system is very wacky, this seems to be too big a drop to account for to be based on the same projections going forward.

Out of curiosity, what is your scoring system in how it varies from standard FBG scoring?

I did too. I guess that isn't the case. However it is apparent that since the two features are so closely worded that the confusion seems inevitable and justified. IMHO, the same person should do both features.

Take a year off from subscribing and see how it goes is my advice. I did that this year, and I'm having the same year I always have: I stink in one league, I'm awesome in the other.

In other words, it's a waste of time to fret over the Top 250 Forward. No offense to FBG's, but it's mostly useless.

I agree with this.I had no idea it was from two different people - especially (as this guy pointed out) because they are so closely worded.

I could not agree more, since they change week to week give the previous weeks performance.
