I am not sure how the numbers are derived, but I have no idea how it is possible that FBG's say that could getting Manning and the Chicago defense for Chester Taylor and "Jacksonville defense" is equal in value? Isn't this a lopsided trade in almost any type of scoring league?
If that were done in any of my leagues the Commish would be barraged with conspiracy theories.
I have been doing this a long time and while I may over estimate Manning compared to most "guru's" here, (and I am the first to admit that this year I would have been OK taking Manning in the 5th spot and after in the 1st round in our 6 point per Td league), but when you manage your team it would be MUCH greater to have Manning and the Chicago defense. It isn;t even close. First, with Manning, you need a backup QB for the bye only and the same with Chicago. You don't need to waste too many roster spots and can even go without a backup many times which allows you the flexibility to pick up players and then trade them to teams in need. Outside of that, the points your team will get Will simply be higher because how much can you really rely on Chester Taylor? I mean, is he really that much better than Tatum Bell or Thomas Jones moving forward? Think about a trade offer given to you and the guy says he will give you one of those 3, who do you take? Anyone who answers with a "without a doubt" isn't really being objective. In fact you could argue Chester would be the least valuable guy.
Thoughts?
