Top buy low candidates (1 Viewer)

I thought this would be a good topic for Sharks. Rank your top Buy Low Players (players who you will be targeting, that are underperforming)

1. Larry Johnson

Has faced a tough schedule and offense has looked horrible. Schedule gets easier. Owners will be ultra-frustrated with him right now.

2. Lee Evans

QB inconsistancy (and health), plus faced tough CBs. Shedule gets easier and QB should be healthy for the second half of season

3. Shaun Alexander

Should greatly improve once the cast is removed, and hand heals.

4. Maurice Jone Drew

I still believe that Jac will begin to utilize his talents more.

5. Jarious Norwood

At some point, ATL needs to realize that Norwood is the future, and Dunn is old

6. Drew Brees

I still think the Saints can turn things around after their bye, and make a playoff run.

7. Reggie Bush

Probably has a better shot at improving over Brees, because he should see increased carries with Duece out.

8. Steven Jackson

Hopefully STL will not rush him back, and he will be closer to his old self later in the year. Could probably be had for a song right now.

9. Cedric Benson

The switch to Greise should provide some stability on offense, and they should sustain more drives (and longer drives). Defense will not be as reliant.

10. Hines Ward

I think the Steelers are right in the mix as a SB contender, and once Ward's knee heals, he should be is old reliable self. Ben is more consistant and not they have Santonio who has emerged as another threat.

WRs: Torry Holt, Colston, Marv and Wayne (Wayne is top 3 dynasty WR IMO; this is the time to get him)

Lower class: Coles, S Moss, Ward, Brown, B Jones, JVax, Berrian

P.S. I didn't forget Evans... he is a true FF Bust.. many teams took him for WR#1 and are getting killed for it.

RBs: SJax, LJ, Maroney, Bush (it may be too late; but still worth making that move), LT2,

Lower class: Norwood, DeWill, Benson

P.S. I didn't forget MJD... he is another FF Bust.. Everyone that took him knew that they would have to wait until an injury for him to be startable; now those same people complain about it.

QBs: Rivers, Brees, Bulger (may be in for a HUGE week), Campbell, VY (I was wrong; this kidd is going to be good), A Smith (I still believe; he just needs a true #1WR), Lienart.

TEs: Only V Davis... all the others seem to be in their spots. LJ Smith should be a WW pick up in most leagues by now; I wouldn't give anything for him.

Leinart - ca't get any lower - I think he turns it around personally

Thomas Jones - frustrated owners looking for TDs may deal him now - he will sart banging out TDs this week and finsih strong IMO.

So what might one offer to the LJ owner at this point? The guy in my league is shopping him for a WR and I'm pretty stacked at WR.

Anyone think Julius Jones is at all time low? I think he is undervalued... I am making a run at him this week.
I'm curious what you'd offer. I just don't see a lot of upside for him outside of a Barber injury.
I am curious as well...any value in Dynasty leagues when he goes to FA at the end of the year? He is still fairly young and still has some tread on the tires. I don't see the Cowboys resigning him with Barber in the backfield and their obvious desire to make a run at McFadden.

:goodposting: MJD was top 10 last year WHILE SHARING CARRIES WITH FRED. why would we expect that he wouldn't be startable this year WHILE SHARING CARRIES WITH FRED?

Was offered LJ for Portis. After looking at the playoff matchups, I'm thinking about it.Plus I don't have Betts. If Portis goes down, I'm SOL.

:bs: MJD was top 10 last year WHILE SHARING CARRIES WITH FRED. why would we expect that he wouldn't be startable this year WHILE SHARING CARRIES WITH FRED?
 I doubt people drafted MJD with the hope that Fred got hurt. Most people I've seen discounted his production from last year to some degree and that is their expectations. The problem for MJD owners right now is his lack of finding the end zone, not his lack of touches.

I just offered a trade to LJ owner who is only guy in our league deep with RBs but has zip at WR. Offered Boldin+AGreen for Barber+Berrian. I fully expect him to counter with a package that involves LJ. My guess is I'll prob. net LJ for what I offered and get back LJ and maybe a lesser WR.

I agree. I don't see J.Jones doing a whloe bunch unless MBIII gets hurts. MBIII is 3rd down, goal line, and gets his series' also. Dont pay too much for Jones.

I would guess that half-way knowledgeable dynasty players that own Wayne already know this. It would probably be pretty difficult to "buy low" on him.

Then your are a fool... everyone who drafted MJD is praying for an injury to Fred. One name I haven't seen is Fitzy... whoever I believe that this is the ype of production we may see from him all year.

6 recs for 80 and a TD every 3 too 4 games.

I'm saying that this is most likely the cheapiest you can ever get him. He's only WR#15 in PPR leagues and most of those points came from one game.

I just made the following trade yesterdayTraded:M. Lynch and J. WalkerReceived:LJ and R. CurreyLynch was wasting away on my bench so I thought it was worth a shot in case LJ wakes up.

Not a fan of this trade..regardless of BUF's tough schedule Lynch has been doing pretty well. is theis a keeper/dynasty?

Just picked up Santana Moss for Cedric Benson in a redraft.

:confused:Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with it. Cedric Benson is not underperforming. He just isn't good. Moss is underperforming. He's getting the targets but not the catches. But historically, his catch percentage has been higher than it is now, so he will likely regress to the mean, and see those numbers come up. He has a decent WR2 in ARE alongside, so he likely won't see much double coverage. I like his value over the rest of the season.

Offer Minnesota Defense

Those a superb buy lows. Although SA has been steady and will have a very good year anyway IMO.Benson is complete and utter garbage.

V.Morency, neither rookie is any good and G.B. knows it which is why Farve is throwing so much. The team is at the bottom of the league for rushing yards. A few touches this week to make sure he is in game shape and then he will be given the chance to be the primary ball carrier.

Sammy Morris, he's out playing LM right now, and I only see his touches increasing.
How exactly is he "out-playing" Maroney besides the fact Bellichek decided to give Morris the goal line carries? Maroney has more carries and yards than Morris. Maroney also has the edge in yards per carry, but not by much. What am I missing?

Another line of thought is Belichick is conserving Maroney for later in the season or post season. It's not like they've needed to rely on the running game a whole lot so far. I don't know, this is just a guess.

This one will surprise many...JP Losman

He's out a couple weeks so you can get him for virtually nothing.

They have so many injuries on defense, once he gets back, he'll be constantly throwing.

And their toughest part of the schedule was the first 3 games.

Next year Jones will be starting for another team. Buy low now.
Jones is not a good runningback, as is painfully clear to those of us who have to watch him plod into the back of his lineman every week. There is little chance, IMO that a team brings him in to start next year.

I like your list, but I must disagree with one: Bulger.he might get killed in Dallas this weekend, that o-line is TERRIBLE..he has ( reportedly) two cracked ribs already, without Sjax, I'll bet Dallas puts 8 in the box and tees off on Bulger.I'm not trying to predict an injury, but I'm not certain he lives thru the game either. :lmao:

FWIW, I agree. I just acquired him and Jason Hill (dynasty) for John Beck and a couple good IDPs. I won't need Losman, probably won't ever start him, but I'm sure he'll improve. Assuming he gets the job back.
