Which RB handcuff is the most valuable independantly on his own (i.e. picking up Turner as a non LT owner)?

It's a bit of a stretch calling Maroney a handcuff, given that he'll probably get about the same number of touches as Dillon gets. The NE RB situation is closer to the ones in IND or HOU.

If you're talking handcuff in terms of a backup producing at a stud-like level if the starter goes down, I'd definitely say Turner.

The fact that he might very well be able to produce near-LT numbers speaks for itself.

I drafted B. Westbrook in the 2nd today and grabbed Buckhalter in Round 10. There wasn't much talent around at that point and I figured it was worth it although I rarely see people mention the Westbrook/Buck handcuff.

Are you asking which backup will produce the best this year, independent of the stud going down? Or which backup is the most likely to produce if given starter status?

First question, Maroney or the Texans RB tandem. Second question, Turner.

I'm taking these factors into consideration.

-Current Backup(Non-Starter)

-Potential to put up the most impressive fantasy statistics if given chance

-Talent + System

-Current starter "most likely" to miss significant time

-Age of starter

1. Michael Turner(5'10 - 240) - Talented enough to start for any team in the NFL. Should fetch big money on the market when he hits UFA, barrring injury. Has everything a GM wants in an every-down back. Powerful legs, ability to quickly recognize and hit hole with authority, "Burner" speed and quickness. Simply put, Turner is a punishing RB that has the makeup to wear down opposing defenses. IMO, Turner's exceptional talent and solid offensive line/running system make him my choice to potentially put up better numbers than any current backup RB in the NFL. Hopefully he receives a starting gig before he begins to lose some of the ability that makes him special.

2. Mo Morris: Would run behind the best run-blocking offensive line in football. O-Line consistantly dominates opponents defensive line, opening wide holes for a running-back. Slightly above average skill set, fast straight-line runner, above average agility/elusiveness, can spot a running-lane as well as most starting RB's, on the other hand, he lacks the power of Turner or the quickness/agility of Norwood. Morris's durability is also suspect, due his small frame. Loss of Hutchinson at G could limit potential production, but whichever guard starts opposite Gray (Womack/Spencer) has the ability to perform at a high level.
