I'd like the Bears to target these:

Quarterbacks

10. Byron Leftwich Pittsburgh (if McNabb isn't available)

Running Backs

These are the FA's I would like to see the Rams look into getting. I know they can't afford all of these guys but these are the FA's to look at

Jonathan Vilma New Orleans

Ronald Bartell St. Louis

Dunta Robinson Houston

Oshiomogho Atogwe St. Louis

J.P. Losman Buffalo

I'll wait till after I find out who'll be tagged before I make my wish list.

Most of the guys mentioned above will be tagged.

That's quite the grocery list there. Would you like paper or plastic? :goodposting:

I'd like to see the Colts target

Running backs

6. J.J. Arrington or draft a RB in the first four rounds of the draft. Sproles might be a good fit for the Colts, but is probably to expensive for the Colts to afford. The Colts need two good RBs. I think Addai will bounce back, but Rhodes is getting old and Mike Hart only had one carry and catch this season before sustaining a serious injury.

Center

3. Jeff Saturday - The Colts rhythm on offense was completely messed up without him.

Offensive Guards

Our guards sucked this year. That said, both of our starting guards were rookies. I assume they'll get better so I wouldn't sign any free agents here.

Linebackers

12. Mike Peterson Jacksonville - I heard he wore out his welcome with the Jaguars. Prior to joining the Jaguars several years ago, he was with Colts. If we can get him for fairly cheap, I hope we try to get him back.

17. Tyjuan Hagler Indianapolis - decent sub

Defensive Tackles

4. Jovan Haye Tampa Bay or draft a DT in the first round of the draft - The Colts couldn't stop the run all season long and it's because we played DEs at DTs all season long. It doesn't work. It's fine to play small and fast players everywhere else, but the Colts need big bodies at DT.

Cornerbacks

11. Kelvin Hayden Indianapolis - Great cornerback. Plus, he had a HUGE interception a couple of years ago in the Super Bowl.

Safeties

12. Matt Giordano Indianapolis - solid sub

Their weaknesses in my opinion:

1. DT

2. DT

3. G

4. RB

5. G

6. OLB

Hey Teddy T. Please make a push for one of the following...

Haynesworth (I doubt he makes it to FA)

Suggs (If you switch to 3-4)

Rocky Bernard

Dansby

Just one Ted, just one is all I ask.

I would like to see the Dolphins focus on keeping Bell, Hill, Goodman, Carey, and Crowder or signing comparable players if they decide to leave in free agency while trying to build the Oline and defense through the draft.

NT and CB are options in free agency and the Phins do need to improve the pass rush, but I would prefer the team not go after high priced free agents despite their good cap positions. None of the wide receivers would be a significant improvement in Miami, though Bo Scaife or LJ Smith would be interesting additions given how Miami uses their tight ends.

Didn't think AZ used JJ Arrington enough this season. If AZ doesn't resign him, someone will get a nice weapon on the cheap. Even with signing James, I think they just gave up on him after a underwhelming rookie year.

JMO He'll be a better signing [for much cheaper] than Sproles.

Wow, seems liike the entire starting O-Line for the Steelers are FA's except for Hartwig. I hope the Steelers invest heavily in the line this offseason (*crosses fingers for Jordan Gross*)

That is probably a good thing. Smith has hardly played all year and he'll probably retire. Starks has played reasonably well and they'll probably be able to sign him to a long term deal for a greatly reduced amount than they paid him this year. Kemo has been very spotty and I think they'll let him go since they signed Simmons to an extention last season and Stapleton has played adequately at LG. No one is going after Essex so he'll be around to backup another season if the Steelers want him.Assuming they do sign Starks they need to find an upgrade at RT. Colon's been horrible there. He needs to be moved inside or be relegated to a backup. If they don't sign Starks they'll need to get a LT either through the draft or FA or both.

Cassel was franchised was he not? Not a FA
He has not been franchised yet, since teams are not allowed to assign franchise or transition tags yet.
May be right there. Though I believe the Pats have already announced that he will be.
Hey Money, I think you are probably thinking of the Michael Lombardi report on Inside the NFL. Supposedly, his sources inside the Pats franchise say that he will be franchised, but it is not official yet. Chris Mortenson has also confirmed the Lombardi report. It looks like a done deal, but not 100% yet.

I think something that makes this year unique at this point at least, is that it appears that many of the "big name" FAs will be switching teams. I think there is a good chance that most of the guys below will be playing for a new team in '09.

Matt Cassel

Kurt Warner

Derrick Ward

Darren Sproles

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Jordan Gross

Jeff Saturday

Terrell Suggs/Ray Lewis

Albert Haynesworth

Nnamdi Asomugha

I'll happily take Suggs as a 4-3 DE. I'm guessing that Thompson bids on him  but gets outbid by someone else :D .Suggs is a difference maker and will demand top dollar.

I am one of Birk's biggest fans, but I think he is done as an effective center. He was a big reason that Peterson had so many negative/zero yardage plays this year. I hope he does well, but I just don't see it happening.

Some pickups for New England that I wouldnt mind seeing...excluding obvious studs like Haynesworth, etc.

Kevin Jones

Cedric Benson

Correll Buckhalter

LJ Smith

Jim Kleinsasser

Nate Washington

Mark Tauscher

Mike Goff

Jonathan Vilma

Channing Crowder

Takeo Spikes

Gerald Sensabaugh

I'd like to see them take a look at Andra Davis. Also, wouldn't mind them adding a #2WR to compete with Gaffney. I've always thought Brandon Jones showed flashes but was sidetracked by injury and also saddled with with poor QB play and/or run-first offense.Another WR who might benefit from a change of scenery is Michael Clayton.

GB RT Mark Tauscher tore his ACL late in the season. It sounds like he will be back but that knee injury makes it unlikely that a team will make a big push to sign him.

Offensive Centers

1. Jason Brown Baltimore

Defensive Ends

2. Terrell Suggs Baltimore (technically a 3-4 OLB)

Linebackers

1. Ray Lewis Baltimore

6. Bart Scott Baltimore

Ravens will do well if they can keep 2 of these guys. Especially if Scott isn't one of them.

Expect CB Chris McAlister to be available by the time Free Agency rolls around, too.

Did you just suggest that the Packers will spend money on a top free agent?
I think they'd "spend" money, but not the money the market will demand, which is why the :lmao:

Arrington doesn't seem like the kind of back who can get it done between the tackles and goes down on first contact way too much, I rarely see him break a tackle or fight tacklers off, very soft runner in my opinion
