Top SF RB? (1 Viewer)

People may be overlooking Michael Robinson. Everyone was projecting him to be a WR. IMO, it was a brilliant move by SF to convert him to a RB.

Robinson is a very atheltic, smart, tough, hard worker with good size 6-1 / 226, and is an instinctive/elusive runner. Not seeing any love for him, am I missing something here? As long as he is receptive to the change, he should be in the mix.

No, no one is over looking him. He will get few touches as a back. He is more likely to be used in the same fashion as Antwaan Randle El.Here are a couple of points made in his footballguys.com bio "Not many former QBs have successfully transferred to RB at NFL level. Robinson doesn’t have top end speed and may eventually be moved to fullback due to his size and limitations. Robinson averaged less than 4 yards a carry in the season he was a running back at college level."

OkayBTW .. Who was the last QB anyone tried to convert to a RB?

Michael Vick..No seriously I do not think in modern football there has been one. Maybe when the singel or double wing was run but not recently.

IIRC Eric Crouch was told by teams to be a RB or WR but he turned them down. I'm guessing the same thing happenned to Charlie Ward. I don't remember what happenned to Tommie Frazier, but it looked like he would have made an ideal RB.

If anything MRob has the heart and determination to make the switch to RB.

He had 11 rushing TDs and averaged 4.9 yards per carry. I know those stats came as a QB, but they're impressive none the less.

I would think 6'1" is a bit too tall to be an every down RB, sounds like Chris Brown or Rod Bernstine to me..

PSU tried him at RB. He was good, but nothing special. I love the guy, but I think his problem (if you can call it that) is going to be that he's good, but not great, at everything.

I think WR is his best chance to make an impact.

No...Vick is a RB they are forcing to be a QB. I'd like to see Vick as a RB!

Just looking to get educated here ... wanting to know some of the former college QB's who tried to transfer to NFL RB. As I stated in an earlier post ... outside of Paul Hornung I can't think of any.
