Playing in deep dynasty...who are the gems who could be there but aren't because of an upcoming training camp battle or bad ranking?

Who are your top 3 at DB , LB ,and DL that aren't in top 35?

Standard scoring

Ryan Clark maybe ?

Not in order:58 Marquand Manuel, GB

59 Glenn Earl, HOU

69 Dre Bly, DET

44 Pisa Tinoisamoa, STL

51 Eric Barton, NYJ

67 Gerald Hayes, ARI

69 Anthony Simmons, NO

42 Orpheus Roye, CLE

46 Travis Laboy, TEN

63 Kalimba Edwards, DET

ETA I messed up a bit by doing this as a redraft ... Earl, Tino, Hayes and Laboy would be my key cheap dynasty pickups ...

dynasty, non-top 35, from FBG's ranking?

LB

Bareet Ruud, long term

Ian Gold

Thomas Davis (although I think his ADP is probably higher than FBG's ranking)

DB

Tony Parrish, short term

Stuart Schweigert

Marquand Manuel

DL

Kenechi Udeze - I know he's got a lot of risk, but he has the potential to shine

Tamba Hali

Andre Carter

even thought he is a DT, I like Luis Castillo. Guy started putting up decent numbers towards the end of last year, his rookie season.

Funny, just had a similar discussion by PM with someone who questioned some of our rankings/projections...

DL (Outside consensus top 40/Could finish top 20)

Tamba Hali

Travis Laboy

Andre Carter

Kalimba Edwards

All guys who are already starters or, in Hali's case, could emerge from training camp getting a significant number of snaps. All four could get 40 tackles and double digit sacks. There are one or two others, but these would be the favorites using the above criteria.

LB (Outside consensus top 50/Could finish top 25)

Akin Ayodele

Boss Bailey

Shelton Quarles

Brian Simmons

Anthony Simmons

Gerald Hayes

This one is more difficult -- there are all kinds of players that shoot up the charts if there's a key injury (Ruud, DJ Williams, Dem Williams, etc, etc). These guys are currently ranked under 50 but are expected to start and contribute from week one. I'm not sure I see anybody in a 50-50 training camp battle that could jump up here.

DB (Outside top 50/Could finish top 25)

Bernard Pollard

Glenn Earl

Shaun Williams

ETA: We're close to posting an article detailing each team's over-valued, under-valued, and deep sleeper players. No hard deadline yet, but it should be released by the end of the month.

Love the players being listed here. Quick question, will Anthony Simmons,Colby Bockwoldt and Scott Fujita all be productive. Having a hard time getting a take on the Saints LBers. Where does Fincher fit in? Saw where Fujita was ranked high by one of the staff at one time

Working on a spotlight feature about this right now. Keep writing and deleting, writing and deleting. For now, I'd lean toward the two guys who have the most talent (Simmons) or are currently projected to start at the most friendly position (Fincher). Problem is, both have pretty serious blemishes. Fincher isn't proven and may not play in nickel situations. Simmons has been out of the league for nearly two years. Fujita, Bockwoldt, and Polley are all interesting players but I can't see any having stud value right now. Any of the three could land in what ends up being the money position by camp's end, however.

Since it wasn't stated, I'm approaching the question from a Dynasty point of view:

DL:

Darrion Scott

Andre Carter

DeWayne White

LB:

Thomas Davis

Barrett Ruud

Channing Crowder

DB:

Josh Bullocks

Bernie Pollard

Dawan Landry

Sorry, none of this is too earthshattering but they all qualify as outside the top 35 in current rankings.
