Top-Tier Leagues For The True FFB Expert Level Players (1 Viewer)

Isn't football about more than just offense?

For the past two seasons, the Mountain Football Association has proven that it has the most competitive leagues anywhere in fantasy football circles. Look at these scores from this year's MFL regular season matches:

464-455.1; 411.5-404.4; 419.5-411.4; 406.7-403.8; 505.2-491.7; 519.9-501.7

These are six examples where the difference in scoring between the two competing teams is less than 2% of the combined total. In some cases, the difference in the game came down to a single play. In your league, can you say that in a single season, that your league had more than three games decided by less than a 2% difference between two teams? Let alone six games?

What is amazing in this league is that the season is still not over at this point. The truth is that football IS about more than just offensive players and a defensive unit; there are IDPs and punters, place kickers and head coaches, and ALL of their individual contributions have an impact on a football game. Every yard matters, and the fact is that for those of us who have been playing fantasy football for 10, 15, or 20 years or more, standard fantasy football formats are not just tired and old, THEY ARE BORING.

Our leagues have budgets that are completely transparent to every participant in the league. At the end of the season, the payouts are confirmed by cashier's checks and ACTUAL CRYSTAL TROPHIES. If you tire of having everything in your fantasy league being done under a veil of secrecy, THEN PERHAPS YOU NEED A NEW GAME.

You cannot create a FFB experience that is more aligned to the NFL than the leagues of the Mountain Football Association; and with the 2009 season winding down, perhaps it is time to do a little bit of planning on how you intend to spend your 2010 NFL season. Want more of the same, with half your league leaving by week 8? Where there are entire rosters dropped and replaced each and every week? Where the average winning margins exceed 30% of the combined score of the two teams in each match? Well if so, consider these comments from the 2008 MFL season:

"Excellent...the most competitive and truly indepth fantasy football league ever." "The great thing about this league is that any team can win any week, no matter who their up against. And every move you make is crucial." "Excellent...the most competitive and truly indepth fantasy football league ever." "This has been the most fun I have had playing FFB."

It took nine years of reseach and hard work to bring the Mountain Football Association to where it is today, and we would like to invite you to browse through our website and see if we have a better game for you in 2010. We welcome all questions and comments, and to see our website, and our FFB offerings in 2010, simply go to:

Enjoy the playoffs, and we look forward to serving your FFB competition needs in 2010!

I think it's great that every yard is finally scored. Now we'll see how long it takes for everyone else to figure out that plays in a football game are measured by the yard, and not ten at a time.

Why can't you just setup up the same scoring in a MFL site ? 1 yard per point etc...

I read through your site but not sure of the advantages...

Besides MFL is the site you want, not ESPN...

But good luck on your venture...Ckev

Well now, that is a reasonable question, so why use ESPN as a platform? A couple of important reasons are that:

I am familiar with their technical staff, as they are just as aware of who I am. The PFPS system allows their programmers to do several things: check for scoring accuracy (the field trial league has been used as an audit checkpoint for NFL statistics for two years now), allows individuals working there to check on their favorite players using an independent evaluation method unlike anything they have available to themselves, and permits me to have an independent company to provide live statistical feeds to my leagues from the NFL, without any costs to our company, among other things.

Something else as well that should be said. Every dollar received by our company is tracked independently by a third party accounting firm, who will sign off on the books of every league managed by our company. Part of our overhead in the leagues is absorbed by this expense, and having our records, involving each and every dollar in income and expense in each league, to be a public record, open for inspection by any party, is something that few private firms or individuals will do. Those who think that they can say that we are a ripoff will have no ability to do that with evidence, or believability, as soon as cash begins to flow in and out for the 2010 season participants in the leagues. We are a state and city licensed business, based in Tucson, Arizona, and we have spent much time and effort over the past nine years to ensure our credibility is fully intact; and things will remain so for as long as we stay in business. When you use an independent accounting firm to monitor your company's financial processes, this does show that you are concerned about accountability, and your reputation, in how you do things businesswise. If we don't do as we say, we then have to deal with the fallout that could come from public and private sources because we chose to go the route of an actual legitimate business venture.

When we selected ESPN as the place where we would run the PFPS system through an actual scientific field trial (on the way to a patent application), we also wanted to provide the participants in the scientific field trial with some nice tools, without any expense to them. We are exceedingly pleased with how this informal alliance has benefited ESPN and us. They have been a huge blessing to us throughout the two long years of the field trial, and we will continue to say that they are a great company that does great things for many people who never even spent a dollar with them.

On our own, we simply could not afford the kind of statistical applications that they use for live statistical feeds and reporting from the NFL; and for that matter, few companies could duplicate it. I am proud that we chose to ally ourselves informally with them, by choosing to put the PFPS system through its scientific trial on their servers, and that they allowed us to do this with no formal relationship to their company.

We think that some of the best advantages we offer come down to our ability to translate exactly what happens with every player, every change of possession, and every game in the NFL, into real numbers that you just can't get with participating in other leagues. With 106 scoring categories, and over a million independent variables in a single match between two participants, our leagues have parity that cannot be achieved comparibly by ANY other scoring system. In our leagues, every participant can win every match they participate in each week. Rosters cannot be stacked as the team you have must meet with the scrutiny of an ethics code, and player movements in our bottom two tier leagues are hyper monitored to ensure that no illegitimate advantage is being created for any owner. The participants in the field trial have watched this season as conference and division championships were not decided until the final week of the regular season. Lastly, all I know is that having something successful requires that you must care a great deal about what you are doing, and there is no doubt that our participants would say that there is no more accountable company anywhere, that is involved in the fantasy games industry, than ours.

A good way to build trust between ourselves and you is to play in our lowest tier league, and then see if it meets or exceeds your expectations. While it is true that having 106 scoring categories is not for everyone, for FFBallers who have been around a while, there might not be a more fair game around; and you will learn more about the NFL by participating than you could ever imagine. And at less than $50, it is a very small investment to find out if what we do DOES WHAT WE SAY IT DOES. If you were going to spend $400 or $500 next season on fantasy football anyway, give us a try and get something of real value for yourself. Think about it like this:

In our top tier league, with a just under $500 entry fee per person, the prize pool if the league winds up at sixteen teams, would be guaranteed to be $6,770, with $4,062 of that going to the winner, along with a crystal trophy, and $2,708 going to the runner up, along with a trophy, and weekly prizes all season long; with smaller amounts for a smaller league. These payouts are among the highest percentages in the industry, and a great return on your investment if you win.

As stated on our website, our company is committed to improving player evaluations and processes for professional football players and the organizations they work for, and that is the core of what we do, not having fantasy football leagues only. Ultimately, we believe that we can help to change the way that college football scholarships are handed out by NCAA schools, which will improve both the NFL, AND college football in general.

Speaking for myself, I have been involved with money leagues in fantasy football for over 20 years. I have learned, through hands on experience, what works, and what doesn't. Use that experience to your advantage. I might actually know a little bit about FFB when it comes down to it. Compare what I have said here to what others tell you in their presentation, then decide for yourself. You are the best judge of what is best for you, so make your own decisions, then go and have some fun!
