Top Twenty 1910 Fruitgum Company Songs? (1 Viewer)

Did they have 20 songs in their catalog?

1)  1-2-3 Redlight - by far their top song, it's catchy and an allegory about a lost love that was a prostitute.  That prostitute's name?  Kiki Dee.  Listen closely - the tambourine playing in this song was the inspiration for the cowbell in "Don't Fear the Reaper."

2)  Yummy, Yummy, Yummy - a better cover from the Ohio Express original.  The song itself was too good to only chart once.  It was a statement of support for their gay bass player, and to their LBGT fans, who knew what the lead lyrics, "I got love in my tummy" really meant.

3)  Indian Giver - these guys are a bubblegum classic.  Who else could combine the innocence of kid pop and ugly racism?  No one.   Note:  they were in an 8-month fight with the record label to maintain the integrity of the album cover.  They won.
