I'm far from being a draftnik like many here... but it's seems that there is a concensus, there are seven 'elite' talents in this year's draft (maybe you disagree at this point already!):
Russell;
Johnson;
Quinn;
Adams;
Thomas;
Landry;
Peterson.
Every year it seems that an 'elite' (or perceived elite talent) one falls off (A. Rodgers to name one) - mainly because of team needs... it is possible that these top7 guys are gone with the top7 picks?
Is there a scenario (involving trades or not) where the 7 first picks involve no 'surprise' or 'reach' ala Donte Whitner last year (no one had this one coming, I'm pretty sure... 8th pick? come on)?... or are you certain that one of Brown or Carriker or Willis or else will sneak in?
Seems to me that the odds are in favors of at least a 'surprise'... which 'elite' one loses alot of money then?...

Adams is not an elite prospect. He is merely the "supposedly" highest rated DE in a deep class of DEs with no elite players. He measures up similar to Kiwanuka who was chosen a year ago behind 4 other DEs. I would suggest that Willis is elite though MLBs are rarely drafted at that level.
