I recently viewed the following highlights (over 7 minutes of domination): BMarsh

I have never seen a WR highlight reel with so many spin moves/broken tackles. He also had numerous catches in the reel that were near touchdowns. I do not get a chance to watch him during the year so I wanted to get opinions of those who do. He is currently ranked #15 by FBG in dynasty ranks. Is the low ranking strictly due to his knuckleheadedness?

POSITIVES for Dynasty

- He is young.

- He has a young talented QB.

- He has established himself as the go to guy in the offense.

- His YAC ability is incredible.

- His size makes him a great redzone target.

NEGATIVES for Dynasty

- He appears to be mentally ill at times.

- He has only one year of success.

IMO, if he can stay clean from being dumb, he is a lock to be a top 5 WR for the foreseeable future (barring injury of course).

QUESTIONS

- Is this the time to buy low?

- Is he too risky based on his behavior?

- What flaws does this guy have on the field?

No questions on the talent, just questions of character. That being said I think he should at least be Top 10 in dynasty.

and the crazy thing is that's essentially one year of highlights. Last year about week 3 or 4 someone posted a highlight reel of his 1st few games and he had made individual moves and plays that many wr's don't make over a career. I went out and acquired him soon after....He's in a great situation, tremendously talented, he just has to get his life in order.

That video has changed my mind about this guy. I was very high on him this year, now after being remind of how he loves contact, I think I will lower him a bit. In a dynasty league, I would rater have a guy like Harrison who flops!

It's still worth discussing, especially from a dynasty/keeper standpoint. I think it depends on your current squad...If you have a good, solid young nucleus and only have to trade WR15 value to obtain him, I think it is worth it.

I am afraid that he's much more immature than we could even tell from the outside. He's had plenty of wake up calls already.

He has the ability to be truly elite on a Fitz/Edwards/Moss/TO level, no doubt about it - man among boys as Chaos Commish would say - but he's used up all of his "im sorry i wont do it again"s

Marshall and Cutler Roomates

Brandon Marshall has chosen deluxe accommodations for when he serves his suspension to open the regular season: Chez Jay.

The Broncos receiver, facing a two- to three-game, league- mandated absence in September for violation of the NFL's code of conduct, plans on crashing at the home of quarterback Jay Cutler during his downtime.

"Me and Jay decided I'm going to stay with him," Marshall said after the first of four joint workouts at Dove Valley with the Dallas Cowboys.

"He's got plenty of room," the receiver added with a laugh. "What I'm going to do is take over his basement."

Yet Marshall made it clear that this will be a working vacation upon which he'll embark with Cutler at his side.

"What we're going to do is, I'm going to stay in the game plan. And at night, we're going to throw," Marshall explained. "And after we throw, we'll watch film and he's going to go over the game plan with me as if I was there."

The arrangement is necessary because Marshall is barred from Denver's facilities beginning Aug. 30 through at least Sept. 15, the earliest date that the suspension could end if the receiver follows league guidelines during his downtime. Otherwise, Marshall will be out until Sept. 22.

Cutler confirmed the arrangement, but he declined to speak about it after the afternoon practice.

"Jay's been great," Marshall said of his fall-back plan. "The whole Denver Broncos organization has been great to me.

"All I can do is just show them that I'm here now, and when I get back and be accountable."

And with Marshall scheduled to lose more than $52,000 in base salary during his suspension, it doesn't hurt that the price is right at Chez Jay.

"He better not charge nothing," Marshall said with a smile. "I might charge him."

I can understand people not wanting to commit to Marshall longterm in a dynasty because of his off-field issues, but right now he is the definition of buy-low. This guy is every bit as good as any young WR in the league and can be had relatively cheap. If he comes back from his suspension and pops off for 200-2 his 1st two games back(against NO and KC by the way) he'll never be as easy to get again.

I'm committed long term but I bought insurance in the form of Eddie Royal. I've never seen a WR display the moves and power of Marshall in only his 2nd year. Maybe he can teach Royal the spin move because no one even comes close to performing as well as Marshall.

His spin move is more effective in real life than it is in Madden.

I'd like to add Calvin and Bowe as possible next "big deal" WR's. FWIW, I traded Kevin Jones straight up for Marshall in my dynasty league

Dude was a KJ homer and I struck at the right time, KJ was in the news and "running hard" while Marshall was in the news for negative reasons obviously.

The headaches have barely started with this tool. Just wait until he starts crying for a new contract next season.

Physically he's amazing.

Mentally he's not all there.

With such a high risk of him flying off the handle i wouldn't want to invest much in him long-term.

If Chris Henry is getting another shot in Cincy, I can't imagine this guy not having a home somewhere to show his skills. I know he could be suspended and such for further actions, but we are talking about getting a guy that is cheaper now than he will likely be once he gets back on the field. BUY!

This is the second piece of positive news (post #10) for Marshall. Hopefully he gets on track.

I think this might be a bigger deal than the press reports. Smith in my opinion is/was the classiest player the NFL has seen in a long while. Very level headed, and very smart. If a fraction of that will rub off on Marshall it could go a long way.
