Both are available on WW in most leagues...While i dont trust Skeletor er Shanahan, Torain looked solid this past week and could be more involved in offense in the upcoming weeks...Mendy doesnt look very good and is injured, Redman ypc are nice, better than Mendys...Im not buying into the Mendy has no heart thing as ive read in other threads...but looks as if he could lose significant carries going forward...who you got moving forward between these two....

I almost picked up Torrain off waivers Sunday Morning. Wish I had now. However, now that it will cost me my #2 waiver priority to get him, I'm goiing to pass. I don't trust Shanahan either, in a few weeks he will have moved onto his next rb leaving me with a flex starter at best and a low waiver priority.

Torain is Shanny's flavor of the week. I'd pick up Redman if he is still available.
Torain maybe Shanny's flavor of the week, maybe not. He has a much better shot at a featured back role than Redman. PIT's offensive line is a total mess, and they aren't going to phase Mendenhall out.I would pick up Torain over Redman in a heartbeat.

I agree that Torain is better than Redman and in a better situation but I just think Torain may only be around for a little while Coach just seems to switch starting Rbs like underwear. Redman will have more staying power I think. He has shown he could do more with a crappy o-line than Mendy has this season.

Believe it or not, Ridley is not available in any of my leagues..Torain is in all of them with Redman available in 3...So ridley isnt an option though i do like him a lot..I live in Louisiana and these people draft LSU and Saint players nomaddah what..

But that's what makes Torain much better gamble than Redman. Better RB, better situation. You know what you're getting with Redman.....he's going to steal carries from Mendenhall. PIT isn't going to phase out Mendenhall. The best Redman is going to get you is a maybe a flex play. Torain could be a good RB2 if he stays healthy and continues to produce. Even with Hightower and Helu in the mix, WAS is going to run the ball a lot and keep it out of Grossman's turnover-prone hands.Bye weeks are coming up and Torain is a great option to get your starters past their bye weeks. And if Torain is still the starter in WAS, then you can sell him to a RB desperate owner and let him deal with the Shanny games. You will never get that kind of value taking Redman.

I'm a Mendy owner and I'm going Torain first, then Redman. PIT seems like it might be an RBBBC.by the way

NFL Network's Jason La Canfora reports that Rashard Mendenhall's hamstring injury is not believed to be serious, and he could play in Week 5 against the Titans depending on practice participation.Writes La Canfora, "The Steelers will see how much Mendenhall can do during practice, and he could be back as soon as this weekend." Mendenhall has struggled mightily to open the year, and he didn't get back in the game with what is now supposedly a mild injury. It begs the question of whether the Steelers simply felt better going with Isaac Redman. Now scheduled to face Tennessee's top-eight run defense, Mendenhall will be a risky Week 5 RB2 play. With M Moore out a few weeks (possible) with the high ankle sprain and Mendy's hamstring I say Redman. He might actually be the better back and if he looks good ( if Mendy sits) he might even keep the job. Wouldnt be the first time.

Mewelde Moore has been diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain.

A true high-ankle sprain would sideline Moore for at least a few weeks. That opens up the majority of third-down and two-minute work for Isaac Redman, whose stock is on the rise quickly. Rashard Mendenhall (hamstring) is unlikely to be at 100 percent even if he plays against the Titans this week.

Mewelde's Moore injury will keep him out a bit, so Redman should have all the 3rd down reps now too. Certainly a tough decision, but I'd probably go with Torain. however, you never know if Shanny will just decide to roll with Helu or Hightower on any given sunday because they pissed in the wrong toilet or something

this does make it interesting

One thing to consider (among the many potential pratfalls of dealing with ANY Shanny-back) is that Torain got the nod b/c Shanny said THT looked banged up in practice, and because THT also suffered a shoulder injury in the 1st quarter of the rams game. The Skins are on bye. So it's entirely possible that THT heals up over the 2 week layoff and you grab a player who is the rb3 on his own team.

Skeletor has the power.

You should just trade Finley for a suitable RB1/2.

NO ONE GIVES A #### ABOUT YOUR LEAGUES

From what I can tell, as long as Torain is healthy, he is Shanahan's Guy. He is Shannanigan-proof. From Week 4 of last year, when Torain started getting carries, to Week 8 when he got injured, he was the 9th most productive fantasy RB in the league. He was injured until Week 14 and got the starting job back right away. Then from Week 14 to 16, he was the 5th most productive fantasy RB in the league.

I don't mind riding a guy that can be my RB1 for the next few weeks, or even the rest of the season with any luck. That's pretty awesome upside for a WW pickup. Redman, not so much. I don't see any indication he would even be the feature back if Mendy were out, much less whether he would put up numbers like Torain.

:goodposting: Also, wasn't Torain injured during the preaseason? Maybe this was the first week that he was 100% healthy and he immediately was inserted as the feature back again. Perhaps it has been Torain's job all along and Hightower was just brought in as a 3rd down back. Hightower was only pushed into the feature back role because of Torain's injury.
