The problem is that it's only getting worse in STL. So far Holt has done decent, but due to the teams problems he could very likely start doing worse which would put him outside of the top 10 by years end. Also If Bulger misses time he's pretty much screwed. He's still a sure start every week as long as Bulger is throwing the ball, but i wouldn't want to count on him as my #1 receiver (which is what most expected out of him)Holt will still finish as a top10 WR. I don't think you can ever safely bench him. The guy has had 8, 5, and 5 catches this year. He's scored in 2 out of 3 games. He's on pace for a 95/1100/11 season right now. Despite everything going on in St. Louis, Torry Holt remains constant. The guy produced with Ryan freaking Fitzpatrick one year.
5-ish Finkle said:When I heard about the most recent OL injury on Sunday I started contemplating dealing him. when I heard that bulger had cracked ribs Monday morning I started actively shopping him.I love Torry, and I think if he personally remains healthy he'll do okay the rest of the way...but I didn't draft him for just "okay" and that team is falling apart around him. Rather deal him a week or two early than a week or two too late.
so after he has his big game your going to shop him?I'm quietly shopping him now and hoping for a big game this week against Dallas so I can loudly shop him next week. I'm not going to give him away, but I don't think the trouble in St Louis will help his production. It's not a matter of thinking he's going to bust, but I'd rather take the value he has now and get a more stable player situation in return.
Seriously... I keep hearing this Knee sh@t from this board... but it never seems to bother his performance and I never hear about it on any updates. No one in this thread is mentioning the fact that he's getting older, plays on turf, and has a consistently cranky knee. I love Torry, but I ain't touching him with a 10 foot pole. When I trade, I do it with weeks 14, 15 and 16 in mind and I just don't see him lasting with his knee.
The knee will be more of an issue AFTER he is done with football than it is now. He'll do like Sterling Sharpe used to do, take a shot before the game and a shot at halftime to manage the pain. That'll keep him on the lield enough to produce. The question becomes whether or not this offense will produce...Seriously...
