[SIZE=medium]I run a total of 31 Fantasy Football leagues and I have an opening in one of my leagues. I actually have openings in a bunch of my total redraft leagues, but I wanted to talk about one of them today. [SIZE=medium]The league I want to talk about today is called the Maniacs Salary Cap League. Obviously this means this league uses a salary cap, but it’s not done in the traditional sense. Namely, each team is given a salary cap of $1,200,000 for a total of 18-20 players. During the draft, you cannot exceed the $1,200,000 salary cap. During the regular season, you can briefly exceed the cap when doing trades or waivers, but you must immediately get back under the cap by dropping a player. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]Also, we do not use an auction type draft for his league. What we do is, each player in the league, both veterans and rookies are assigned a salary cap number. How these numbers were derived is shown in the rules located at the bottom of the league bylaws page.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]The draft itself is broken down into four 5 round sections. Each team must come out of the draft with a minimum of 18 players and a maximum of 20 players and those 18-20 players combined salaries must not exceed the $1,200,000 salary cap. [SIZE=medium]**Start of the draft is on – Sunday, 6/29/14[/SIZE]
[SIZE=medium]**Draft timer is set for 12 hours, but most picks are made a lot quicker than that. I set it for 12 hours, without it being turned off at night, because people do have family, work, etc where sometimes it takes a little longer to get in and make your pick. [/SIZE]
