Hello and thanks for reading this.  I'm in a 12 person ESPN standard league where two keepers can be kept per year.  You must draft each keeper two rounds above where they were drafted the previous year (waiver wire adds count as an 8th rounder. A player can be kept a maximum of three times.  For instance, I picked Beckham up off waivers in 2014, kept him as an 8th round pick in 2015, kept him as a 6th round pick in 2016 and this year will keep him for a final time as a 4th rounder.  I have three other options for my second keeper and am torn between Montgomery and Pryor both of whom I would be keeping for the first time.  Please let me know what you think.  I'm picking 9th.

Keeper Options (need one)

Ty Montgomery as a 8th round pick

Terrelle Pryor as a 11th round pick

Jordan Reed as a 6th round pick

Thanks again!

Reed is definitely an easy throw back into the draft.   You don't know how serious his injury is ALREADY and he hasn't played any games.  Plus, you get him back at around the 4th round so you're not getting much value.

Pryor in the 11th is tempting, but you don't know how Pryor will fit in WAS, he has a lot more competition for targets in WAS, and there's no guarantee that Cousins will be in WAS after this year.  So his future value is very unknown.

I would keep Montgomery.  Gives you a RB2 for an 8th round price, and if he breaks out in GB, he will be even a better value next year for a 6th rounder (since he would probably be a 2nd rounder in 2018 redrafts if he does great this year).

FightingIllini makes a strong argument for Ty.

It's a close one for me, but value wise I'd go with Pryor. The competition for receptions doesn't scare me off him.

don't think you can wrong with either. Reed is a definite pass for me

I think Reed is an easy toss back.  Too injury prone and you aren't getting great value anyway.  The other two are a little more interesting.

Montgomery is probably the lead back for a nice offense that scores a lot.  He hasn't proven he can hold up to the punishment of an every down back but he will most likely get the chance.  I do think there is future upside if he does hit as fightingillini mentioned as well.  That is probably the deciding factor for me.

Pryor had one solid year with crap QB's and still has a lot to learn about the position.  He is a great athlete and is in an offense that should give him plenty of opportunity.   I just think there are a lot more WR's out there that could put up similar numbers and should be easier to find.

I like Pryor by a good margin here. In a redraft, he's the one I would draft the highest, and he's the one you can keep cheapest. Best of both worlds.

Went with Montgomery. All indications have him as the starter with dual threat skills. Players behind him in RB pecking order offer little appeal. Getting a dual threat RB in the 8th round with little real competition for touches on a stellar offense makes Ty the call here.
