I have to decide between Rivers, Rodgers and Brees. I know not a bad problem to have but going round and round on this one.   Rivers decent matchup but on the road. Rodgers ok matchup but brings risk of not playing in 8 weeks. Brees good matchup but worried they get up big and they're a run first team now.

Thoughts?

I'd go Rodgers. He's on another level than those guys. Yes, he could be rusty, but he also might not be. Could easily see a 34-31 type shootout against Carolina.

I would eliminate Rodgers from the discussion--just not sure what to expect from him. Just because he looks good in practice, doesn't translate to game speed.

I think your fears about Brees are justified. They get up big, which could happen by the 2nd quarter, it is going to be run, run , run the rest of the day.

Which leaves Rivers--this should be a game played in the high twenties for both teams and the game being won in the 4th quarter. 

So while Brees has the higher floor--Rivers has the higher ceiling IMO.

I have a similar choice b/w Rivers and Brees.  I'm gonna go with Rivers on shootout upside which I need playing against the 12-1 #1 seed.

Rodgers by quite some distance.  This ain't his first rodeo.  He doesn't need weeks to shake the rust off with the Pack's playoff lives on the line: he lives for this ####.
