It was a blast while it lasted. Thanks for the invitation.
Bad luck dude. You and I seemed to be following almost the same drafting strategy and it looks liked it was working out pretty well considering we were #1 and #2 in total scoring.
Thanks man, seriously. Really cool of you to say so. There is a little salt in the wound to be #2 in scoring and get bounced... but when Schaub got sick and sat out week before last, I was without a QB and knew I was in trouble.Funny you should bring up the drafting strategy. Gregg Rosenthal told me you were good during the draft, and it seemed like you were the one most often taking guys just ahead of me that I was planning to pick next.Good luck! :goodposting:
You're scouting me now are you? Gregg would know....he and I have done battle a couple of times. He's always been a tough competitor.

Well I guess the final numbers are in and Mr Borbely moves on by .35 pts. :yucky: Seriously it was a lot of fun and injuries all play a part in these sorts of leagues!

Good luck to the rest of you!

Well I guess the final numbers are in and Mr Borbely moves on by .35 pts. :excited:
I wonder how many people have been involved in 2 separate league that had two games decided by less than .5 points. In this same week that I lucked my way through this by .35 points, I lost 175.24 - 175.33 in another league (to Rozelle). Yes, that is .09 points. :tfp:

Standings after Week 7. The final two teams will be eliminated from each league after Week 8.

A few notes: We will start the draft of the final 12 team league as soon as I can get the draft order set after MNF next week. I will start a new Final League thread sometime today with the full rule set and the logistics of next week's draft. Make sure that you check that thread for updates this week.

League 1

272.05 Anthony Borbely

268.55 Rozelle

262.00 tec79

-------------------------------

234.85 SunTzu

222.90 Polyethylene Bag

Less than 50 points separate all five teams here. A monster week from any of these teams next week will earn a top four pick in the final draft.

League 2

287.80 Jene Bramel

254.70 Fullback Fro

244.95 Chainz

-------------------------------

181.40 Tick

155.10 Dan Fouts

Barring a major catastrophe, Bramel should be through here with a top four pick. Fro and Chainz have sizable cushions, but could still lose a slot with a monster week from Tick or Fouts.

League 3

260.70 buck56

243.55 SkyRattlers

234.35 Chaos Commish

-------------------------------

230.00 44orange

229.10 tazinib1

Another free-for-all for slots here.

League 4

284.50 Sigmund Bloom

251.65 BennyBeaver

213.85 Crippler

-------------------------------

186.15 TheManWithNoName

176.15 FightingWombat

Bloom is very likely through here, and has what looks to be a hammerlock on a top four pick next week. BennyBeaver should get through, too, barring a big week from everyone below him.

Full Team - anlaysis place holderGarrard, David JAC QB - 7 Pennington, Chad NYJ QB - 5 Romo, Tony DAL QB - 10 I love the QB's here. Romo plays every week for me. Grabbed Garrard in the mid round as insurance. Pennington in the last round was just a value pick. Not really expecting anythign with that pick. On hindsight I should have grabbed McCariens who was my other option. Suprised he went undrafted honestly. Addai, Joseph IND RB - 4 Bradshaw, Ahmad NYG RB - 4 Dunn, Warrick TBB RB - 10 Johnson, Rudi CIN RB - 8 Norwood, Jerious ATL RB - 7 Not a strength but I only need to fill one spot as hopefully Addai can contribute every week. I tried to grab guys who will get touches but also be valuable if the starters go down and are pressed into a full time role. I think all of these backs can take that step. Battle, Arnaz SFO WR - 9 Colston, Marques NOS WR - 9 Harrison, Marvin IND WR - 4 Kelly, Malcolm WAS WR - 10 Ward, Hines PIT WR - 6 Welker, Wes NEP WR - 4 Should have grabbed a little more depth here. Love my starters. Colston, Welker, and either Ward or Harrison. I think Ward has a bounce back year. His PPG game stats were still rock solid last year. Hopefully Harrison will go all retro on us. I think he can and for where I got him it was worth the risk. Davis, Vernon SFO TE - 9 Smith, L.J. PHI TE - 7 Two decent options. Not a strengthKasay, John CAR PK - 9 Mehlhaff, Taylor NOS PK - 9 Two kickers going all 8 weeks. Robbins, Fred NYG DT - 4 Williams, Pat MIN DT - 8 Decent DT's. Should be enough to get by bye. Freeney, Dwight IND DE - 4 Little, Leonard STL DE - 5 Peppers, Julius CAR DE - 9 Tapp, Darryl SEA DE - 4 Like these 4. Banking on Freeney coming back healthy. Davis, Thomas CAR LB - 9 Fletcher-Baker, London WAS LB - 10 Gaither, Omar PHI LB - 7 Jackson, D'Qwell CLE LB - 5 Mayo, Jerod NEP LB - 4 Ware, Demarcus DAL LB - 10 Very comfy with this sextet. Should be amoung the top producing cores each week. No real bye week concerns.Griffin, Cedric MIN CB - 8 Harper, Nick TEN CB - 6 Revis, Darrelle NYJ CB - 5 Tillman, Charles CHI CB - 8 Week 8 could hurt but I'm pretty good everywhere else so not too worried. Hopefully Harper can stay healthy. Atogwe, Oshiomogho STL S - 5 Grant, Deon SEA S - 4 Huff, Michael OAK S - 5 Whitner, Donte BUF S - 6I think Huff takes a big step fwd this year. I see more picks and big playes for him this year as he moves back to his natural FS position. Although, unspectacular grant should be on the field every down as he got the Defensive Earpiece designation. I see Oshi being a stud again and that Def should be on the field a good amount. Whitner has underperformed but is young and athletic. He's been held back more by the system than the talent. Overall, the weakness of the team is in the RB spot. I chose to focus on other areas as I feel the RB position has the most turnover. I spent some of my early picks on QB and WR, positions that generally don't get as much injury replacing. Hopefully with the other RB's I grabbed, one can replace that injured player. Then this team could really start putting up some points.
I think this team can hold on to one of the spots.

I'm not feeling very confident about my chances. I feel like I planned very well for this final week in regards to byes (I had no one on bye in week 7 and only Darrell Jackson and Alex Brown on bye this week), but it looks like the injury bug might steal my chance to advance to the next round. At QB I only have Pennington now that Hasselbeck and Palmer and injured.

At RB Reggie Bush and Felix Jones are out and Warrick Dunn is questionable. Leaving me only with Portis and Kenny Watson.

I haven't had a DT all season because of Kelly Gregg's injury

At CB Pac Man is still suspended and Springs keeps missing games due to injury, leaving me with only Quentin Jammer's score each week.

And lastly at Safety, Bob Sanders, Roy Williams, and Reed Doughty are all out leaving me with only Ed Reed.

Too many guaranteed zero's on defense and not enough depth at QB and RB are not a good recipe for big scores.

The only hope I'm clinging to is the fact that 44orange is going to be hit very hard by the bye week losing his top 3 offensive players in Aaron Rodgers, Adrian Peterson and Greg Jennings. He'll have no kicker and possibly no DT.

And tazinib1 is still without Romo and will be losing 3-4 of his better IDPs this week as well.

My fingers are crossed but I feel like I'm limping to the finish line here.

Well Pennington did what he needed to do. Portis did all he could but the other RB slot was sorely missing Bush or Dunn and only got me 2.8 points. My WRs were awesome yesterday with 3 of them scoring around 20 points. But in the end the 3 guaranteed zero's I knew I was going to have on defense, plus a very unexpected and untimely weak showing by my linebackers, who had been outstanding for the first seven weeks, will ultimately result the end of me in this league.

Technically I'm still holding on to a 3-5 point cushion against Tazinib but he just needs a decent game from Reggie Wayne or better than average game from Albert Haynesworth to get those points he needs to pass me.

Here’s how the Leg 1 leagues stand entering MNF.

Please remember, I’ll be opening the draft very soon after the game ends tonight. No one is under any obligation to draft before 8am ET Tuesday AM, when I’ll turn a 6 hour clock on. Those remaining have had more than a week to build a draft board and plan around a potential timer. The timer will be shortened to one minute at noon ET on Saturday if we have not finished the draft by then. Please see the initial post for full rules and prize information.

All final league participants will get an email tonight with the new MFL league address and password. You’ll also be receiving a dice roll to determine your random draft position. The top total points advancers in each league will randomly roll for draft slots 1-4, the second highest total points advancers from each league 5-8 and the lowest total points advancers from each league 9-12.

The draft will not be opened until the draft rolls are finalized. Another email will be sent after the draft is opened.

tec79 will advance, Polyethylene Bag will be eliminated. Borbely should have enough MNF firepower to get him through to the final league. SunTzu looks likely to come from behind and steal Rozelle’s slot. Rozelle is finished for the week, while SunTzu has five players who could contribute to his Week 8 score. A SunTzu comeback will almost certainly get him a top four pick.

Bramel, Chainz and Fullback Fro advance from League 2. It’s unlikely, but Chainz has an outside shot of improving his bottom four draft position tonight.

Well I don't know if Tazinib is watching MNF as nervously as I am but this is going to be close. Less than 10 minutes left in the game and Wayne and Hayneworth haven't yet gotten enough points for him. I still doubt I'll hold on but I do have my fingers crossed....

4:47 to go an Manning now knows he has to score twice...all passes, no runs.....I have no hope that Wayne doesn't get atleast 2.8 points.....

Unless....deep to Harrison....TD!!! Fail the onside kick and run out the clock......

Wake up Sky....it's just a dream....

5:00 left in MNFLg 1Rozelle 518.50SunTzu 505.80
Hope closes the gap to 518.50 to 510.80. Quick TD gets him (and Haynesworth) back on the field...but takes Marlin Jackson and Robert Mathis off.Haynesworth sack may kill two teams here. (Of course, it would help if Big Al was on the field here.)

Unreal.....I just hope no stats change on Thursday now
Stats changes have happened during the current week and up to ten days after this season. No prior week's result was changed after the Monday night MFL update. No stats will change this week. This draft must be moving tomorrow to finish before W9 begins and will open tonight. You're in.

Thanks, guys - it was a fun draft, and I don't feel ashamed of a 4th place finish to Bramel, Chainz, and Fro.
