Trade Advice - this year vs. long term/dynasty (1 Viewer)

Got an offer to get Aiyuk (looked good last week, is he back?) and Hunt (same)

FOR

Tank Dell & Darnell Mooney.... now, with Dell, he's about to take a 4-week leap with Collins out... and Mooney, well, he's on fire.

Problem is both Aiyuk and Hunt are in their final contract year and there is no franchise tag option in this particular league, and both Dell and Mooney have 3 years each.

Make the switch or stick with Dell and Mooney?

I'm torn.

Does that mean that Aiyuk and Hunt are for sure 1 year rentals or can you re-up them in some way (i know no franchise tag but is there another mechanism). In my salary league you can always "resign" a guy on a year to year basis but he is subject to salary escalation if he performs well. But you can always keep a guy on your roster if you have cap space and can fit them in.

If those guys are true one year rentals (cannot keep them no matter what) then it all boils down to if they put you over the top for a title run. If they will put in a great position to compete for the title this year then it is probably worth it. If not, then I stay put.

I would have the ability to match high bid on both Hunt (but... Pacheco next year?) and Aiyuk, but who knows how much they'd go for. I could, throughout the course of the season, accrue some additional cash to make it easier to retain Aiyuk, however.

It may not make me a title contender, but I feel that either way (Aiyuk/Hunt vs. Dell/Mooney) that I have a good chance at the playoffs. I guess the question is: are Hunt and Aiyuk really that much better THIS YEAR over Dell/Mooney?

I guess if you need RB help the answer is definitely. If you don't then it's closer and I probably stick with Dell/Mooney (especially with Nico now out for 4 weeks)

I have Gibbs and White (who seems to be losing ground to Irving), but I have the option of starting only 1 RB (Gibbs past his bye week), and up to 4 WRs (currently going with Chase, Tank, Dionte and Mooney).

Guess the question is... is Hunt gonna keep it up? If so, I can slide him in at RB2 and Aiyuk at WR2/3 and play Chase, Dionte and him.

Kelce at TE, and option to flex Pitts (will he keep it up?) instead of one of the RB/WRs.

I've asked the other owner if they'd add a good bit of BB$ to offset the need to match Aiyuk come May in RFA.

Mooney - 55
Dell - 77

Hunt - 109
Aiyuk - 73

* Not sure when these were last updated. Dell may see a rise due to Collins going on IR, Mooney, Hunt and Aiyuk's numbers could rise, too, after stellar weeks.

Dell - 63

Hunt - 273
Aiyuk - 39

The guy's offering $7 (we get $50 reloaded after every RFA period). I am sure I could raise between $8-10 more throughout the course of the season as well.

It really depends on if there's a team with a lot of $ that needs a WR. I'd say probably $20? I have $43 in my coffers right now.

FWIW he just upped it to $10.

Doing this deal this week would create a little bit of a bye week problem as Hunt's on bye.... so I'd be forced to start Rachaad White

I wouldn’t do it. I always think about the future on these trades and you win the future and don’t really get hurt too much in the present. Not worth it to me.
