Trade for Reyes, 12 team HTH 3rd year... (1 Viewer)

Footballguy
3rd year 12 team league where we can keep four from year to year, but we have to keep at least one batter and at least one pitcher.

*It is HTH league, and my strategy is to dominate on offense and split the pitching categories by having good RPs. For this purpose it is basically standard scoring. I want J Reyes, what will i have to give?

You are giving up a hell of a lot for Reyes.Jeter + Wheeler alone should get it done. No need to throw in VMart & Hudson too.

I wouldn't consider the trade without Pujols or Wright included in the deal somehow. Reyes is quickly becoming one of the best 5 tool players in the game. He's much more valueable than Jeter, and Wheeler is hardly all that secure in his closer position. Martinez is a moderate upgrade over Posada. Hudson might be really good this year, or he might revert to last years' form rather soon.

Whoever is getting the best player is generally getting the better of the deal, and that's especially true in a keeper league. You'd be getting a keeper upgrade without giving up much in return.

Thanks for the replies...

I have a much better offensive team than pitching team to start with. On my pitching staff i am trying to focus on RP and good setup men.

I agree with shadyridr, Reyes is a top 5 player and that is why i am going after him. If I could somehow pull off Pujlos and Reyes as my first two keepers, i would be sitting pretty for years to come. I just don't want to give too much and hurt my team this year, which i think can compete for the title.

I am thinking of:

Jeter, Hudson, Wheller for Reyes.

I think Hudson is going to continue to do well, but his trade value is high right now, and Wheller is a hot topic right now and i have plenty of other RP, and i already have 'punted' wins and IP and Ks, so hudson is nice but he does not help me that much.

Would any of you give up Reyes for that, if not, what would it take if you had this team to part with Reyes? Thanks-

i'd laugh at that offer. seriously, that's more than insulting.in roto categories there's pujols, then reyes or santana. he's top 3 now, plus it's a keeper league.maybe jeter and wright for reyes and zimmerman? i don't see much on your that would move me to trade him. maybe jeter, vmart and francoer for reyes and giles?
