Trade Help Requested: Small Keeper League (1 Viewer)

I'm in an eight team auction league with varied keeper rules and I need some advice. I own David Johnson for $5 (of $200 cap) and league winner wants him. That guy has somehow traded/acquired OBJ, Jordy Nelson, Mike Evans, AJ Green, L. Bell, Jay Ajai, and Melvin Gordon among others for ridiculously low prices. My best receiver is Gronk, believe it or not. The league is not a PPR scoring format.

Given so many top receivers are already out of play with keepers, what are your thoughts on DJ for Melvin Gordon and Mike Evans (or one of the other top receivers)?

It depends on the salaries of all those players.  You have arguably the best RB at an insanely cheap price.  I would need to get at least two elite players at good prices to move Johnson.

I don't make that trade. In a vacuum it makes makes sense but if you make that trade the other owner will just walk to the championship.

Unless he offers you Bell and a receiver, there's no point to trading with him. If you make this trade and he gets to start, Bell and DJ then OBJ, Nelson and AJG, your whole league is done. DJs cheap price means he can afford to keep all of them as well too. This might sound like hyperbole but this is how leagues fold. One person will dominate so much that there's no point in just giving them money every year.

12-2 last year and somehow has guys at these prices: AJG - 7, OBJ - 5, Bell - 8, Evans - 6, Nelson - 3, Ajai - 2, Gordon - 3. It's actually two guys who run one team together...they've been astute at taking injured players that others couldn't use in playoff runs and hanging on to rookies that they were smart to draft. This league also has the ability to trade "futures" so that someone making a run can acquire talent essentially without giving up anyone until after the season is over. Obviously, the team I'm talking about also got some great talent by selling guys and tanking a couple of seasons to get these futures at great prices.

Gordon 3 & Evans 6

For

David Johnson 5

I agree the other guy gets better, but so do you. No harm in countering, but the offer is good. Sad that this guy will be that good, but you need to get better too.

Makes sense... Hate giving up Johnson since I grabbed him before he got so hot two years ago and it feels weird giving up "drafted" talent that still has the chance to be the best in the league.
