Trade help (1 Viewer)

I am a bit of a novice when it comes to fantasy baseball. Quickly, I play in a 10 team head to head league. I have amazing pitching, starters and relief. Due to injury I need OF help. I am strong in the BA, steals, and, runs categories but below average to weak with HR and RBI numbers. Thinking of increasing my strong categories of BA,S, and R by trading OF Bautista for OFs Revere and Heyward. Is this enough for Bautista or should I ask for a bit more? Advice appreciated.

I think in roto you should always be striving to achieve balance. Don't punt anything.
I hear you, but I am losing HR and RBI every week in this H2H league. My thinking was trying to get stronger where I am strong which is runs, avg, and sb. Trying to beat my opponent each week in HR and RBI has become an exercise in futility. Thanks for the replies. Will make sure and take my "noob" ### to the trade thread from now on.

Sorry, that was not necessary.........welcome to fantasy baseball, and the baseball forum.

I would definitely not do this. Bautista is a premium player. BA, S and R are much easier to pick up at any point than HR or RBI, especially in a 10-team league.

And I can't imagine that Revere and Heyward would cost nearly that much. I think any mid-tier SP should get them.

There is almost no conceivable situation in which I would make this trade.

And definitely don't start new threads. Can't you see that there is so much activity? We can't have so many new threads clogging up the first page.

Look at Fowler. Only 60% owner. He's in a great a lineup, he'll help with the runs, with the steals. Plus he can re-build those starter motors.

Pillar also in a great lineup and about 60% owned.

Burns and Span are like 77% owned, maybe there in a 10-team league.

Could look at stashing Inciarte or DeShields.

Decided to hold onto Bautista.

Some good points made by each of you. Much appreciated. This thread is a treasure trove of info for a baseball novice like myself.

H2H leagues are a bit different. I've has a lot of success loading up on as much power as possible and basically ignoring steals. I also usually almost ignore SP as well, while grabbing multiple mid-level closers and streaming SP's.

Yes, ignoring steals is the way to go. A couple weeks ago I had 11 (won the category 11-3). It was the week that ended with Hamilton getting 5 in one game. The next week I lost 8-7 or something. Just focus on HR because with that will come runs and RBIs. Batting average and stolen bases? Whatever happens with those two categories, happens. Those are very volatile categories. Not that the others aren't, though.

In addition to the rest of these points, trading Bautista will almost never help your runs. He is going to score a ton of runs, easily more than either of those other 2 and unless you have a completely useless player for revere/Heyward to replace probably you'll have more overall runs with him.
