Trade: Pittman + Likely for LaPorta (1 Viewer)

My team is:

QB: Dak
RB: Mixon, AJones, BRobJr, J. Williams, Swift
WR: Kupp (IR), Evans, Flowers, DeVonta Smith, Pittman
TD: Likely, Njoku

... would you trade away Likely + Pittman for LaPorta? Nearly all trade analytic tools say it's a dumb idea... but I'd think, I'm getting a stronger, higher-floor TE as a starter, and losing my WR4?

Thanks, WHIR!

I don't mind that deal. Sometimes you have to pay up to get what you need. Leaves you thin at WR but maybe there are some receivers on waivers you can pick up? It is tough as Kupp might not be back this year but this trade lets you be set at TE as Njoku is out.

The other thing you can do is keep playing Waiver wire RBs roulette hoping you hit on another RB and then trade an RB for a good WR.

Look at it this way. It is Pittman + Likely for LaPorta + a waiver wire pick up. Frees up an extra spot.

You know your league but I don't mind the trade. I'd probably do it.

Yea, that's largely my reasoning... I figured I could get someone passable off the wire at WR (thought I just missed the Week 3 waiver wire boat, with the likes of Kirk, Jeudy, etc.) as my 4th/5th... or trade my 4th/5th RB for a comparable WR. I'm obviously banking a little bit on LaPorta returning to from from last year -- this year's been a bit of a dud so far -- but it seems a reasonable gamble, compared to waiting on Likely or Njoku to catch fire.

If Kirk is on waivers eat that up.

I'm up for buying low on LaPorta. Will be better days and he's the #1 TE on that team. Andrews is still the #1 on BAL.

It's a solid trade but I am down on Pittman and don't think he will be much this year. I don't trust Richardson to support an every week starting WR. Too much risk there. I am also a bit down on LaPorta but I do have more trust in him as a weekly floor to Likely even though it hasn't really been there yet.

Sadly, I missed Kirk - b'c I don't have roster space yet, unless I can get this trade done... [I actually used to own him, but traded Kirk + Mostert to get DeVonta last week]... but there are 1-2 options out there I could take a flyer on for a WR4.

If they will take the trade I’d do it. Pittman might be something but the way that offense going there’s a good chance he might not. Likely is Andrews dependent to be a safe start but he is a great coin flip every week. Laporta will improve. It seems like Dem Lions have been trying something different and it isn’t working. They will go back to what works and start looking more like last year.

Personally I'd go back to the well that gave you Smith for Mostert and Kirk. Maybe the guy has recovered and is ready to bend over again.

Lol. It really didn’t look that bad after Week 1. Agreed, though, at this point … looking like I won that one - so he won’t be dealing with me again.

I pulled the trigger on LaPorta - bit of a gamble, hopefully he reverts back to last years form.
