Let's hear them!

Personally I had a trade done last year:

Gave Up:

Anquan Boldin

2010 2nd round pick (2.11)

2010 3rd round pick (3.04)

2011 2nd round pick

Received:

Hakeem Nicks

2010 2nd round pick (2.02)

2011 1st round pick

I have some:

1. I got Randy Moss at the end of 2006 before he went to NE for a 5th round pick in a "rookie only" draft.

2. I got Hakeem Nicks before the 2010 season for a 3rd round pick in a "rookie only" draft.

And I lost on this one...traded Aaron Rodgers away (before the season started) when Favre left and in return got Dwayne Bowe and Matt Forte. I would reverse that trade in a heartbeat.

You win some, you lose some.

Realized I have another one in a Zealots league:

Received:

Johnson, Steve BUF WR

Year 2011 Draft Pick 5.10

Gave up:

Year 2011 Draft Pick 3.06

Year 2011 Draft Pick 4.06

Year 2011 Draft Pick 5.05

I've certainly had my share of ones that I helped the other team far more than myself but as an active trader, I suppose that is going to happen. I have traded away Ray Rice, Jamaal charles, Benson, and likely 20-30 other notable players before they made it big (and that doesn't include the players I ATTEMPTED to trade and people wouldn't take (Jacobs in 2007, Foster last year).

But as far as trades go that have really helped me and shaped my teams over the years, I will mention a few because they DID help build my team and they were great pick ups before the players hit it big:

2007

Gave a 4th round rookie pick for Kurt Warner

2006

traded a kicker I can't remember who (does it really matter) for Dallas Clark

2007

Accepted (this came out of the blue and offered TO me) vincent Jackson and a 2008 2nd round pick for Bobby Wade. VJAX really didn't take his BIG step until the next year but I used the 2nd rounder that year to get DeSean Jackson so overall, that was a significant trade for my WR corps.

Oddly enough, my best trades never seem to coincide with me actually winning a league. I usually win my leagues with "less than superstar" players while my teams with the big names almost always get bounced out in week 15 or 16.

Traded Ricky Williams and Kevan Barlow for Priest Holmes in preseason 2004. Two days later Ricky retires from the NFL out of the blue, and Barlow goes on to be a bust.

* * xxxxx gave up Rice, Ray BAL RB

* * Gandalas gave up Clayton, Michael TBB WR;Durant, Justin JAC LB

Preseason Prior to his breakout year.

Last offseason, Zealots, non-ppr, return yardage, traded:

Chirs Johnson, 2.12, 5.12 for Desean Jackson, Vernon Davis, 1.01(Ryan Mathews) 1.07(Sam Bradford) then traded:

Vernon Davis, Marques Colston for Calvin Johnson, Jermichael Finley

So it ends up being:

Chris Johnson, Marques Colston, 2.12, 5.12 for

Sam Bradford, Ryan Mathews, Calvin Johnson. Desean Jackson, and Jermichael Finley

Not my most lopsided trade, but one of my biggest and most recent.

And another I just thought of: traded Tiki Barber for Steven Jackson after the 2005 season, along with swapping meaningless picks.

This one was offered in a dynasty league last year before the season, but turned down.

Jamaal Charles and DHB

For

Ladainian Tomlinson

The LT owner had only one starting RB in a start 2-3 league and did not own Shawn Greene. It was mind- boggling that this offer was refused.

2 QB league a few years ago

Gave drew stanton and Patrick crayton

For 1.08 where I got Chris Johnson

I traded Jerome Harrison and Devon Bess for Hakeem Nicks and a late 2nd rounder in a 16 team league just after his rookie season and after Harrison had put up big numbers at the end of the season.

The 2nd round pick was used to draft Mike Williams - Tampa Bay and he was traded for Big Ben. So either the trade could be seen as those 2 for Nicks and Williams or Nicks and Big Ben

Traded Cedric Benson my 2nd round pick (year after Bensons big year in CINN)

Received Vincent Jackson A first round pick (Turned out to be 1.1)

Team A got: 2011 rookie pick 1.2 (at the time the trade went down, it was going to be at least a top 4 pick)

Team B got: Ryan Fitzpatrick

-----

Might not be great, but still feels soooo good. ;-)

Team A got: 2010 rookie pick 2.7 / kenny britt

Team B got: Jamaal Charles

I am not involved in this trade and tend to think it is fishy but the league seems to have accepted it...

take a peek now cause u wont see me later gave up Mendenhall, Rashard PIT RB;Jackson, DeSean PHI WR

Wiley Tigers gave up Vick, Michael PHI QB;Floyd, Malcom SDC WR; Year 2012 Round 1 Draft Pick from Wiley Tigers

That first round pick is likely a 1.12 or 1.11 or 1.10 as this guy is now loaded.

So basically, that was Mendenhall and Djax for Vick. No, this is not a 2 QB league...

Dynasty league (salary cap)

2010 Preseason:

Gave: P.Manning $94, M.Crabtree $5, 2010 1.09 (J.Gresham)

Received: P.Rivers $26, D.McFadden $4, J.Stewart $4, 2010 2.07 (T.Tebow)

2007 Postseason:

Gave: M.Bulger $5, D.Hackett $3, 2008 3rd rounder (T.Choice)

Received: Calvin Johnson $3

Got my share of losses too, but pretty proud of these.

I don't see a problem with this.

After the rookie draft 4 years ago......

Gave Chris Perry and Anthony Gonzalez

For

Chris Johnson and some insignificant WR

This was when Perry was finally supposed to be the man.

In summer of 2010 I sent Donald Driver and Anthony Gonzales for a 2010 second round rookie pick that I used to get Hakeem Nicks with. Kinda happy with that.

This was a great trade even if it took 3 years to pay off. Thank goodness for 53 player rosters.

2007: Houston Texans gave up Year 2008 Round 5 Rookie Draft Pick (2008 5.09 Jackson, Dexter TBB WR)

Team XXXX gave up Vick, Michael ATL QB

Yes I still have Vick.

You think Michael Vick, who is 31, hasn't played a full season in a LONG time, is worth a top 10 WR in DJAX who is still young and a top 10 RB in Mendenhall, who is still young? Could you explain? Do you think Vick will be the top fantasy player for the next 4 years?

Traded Jacoby Jones, Julius Peppers and Elvis Dumervil (LB listed so not worth much) for Hakeem The Dream last offseason

Good Moves

1. Traded a 5th round pick for Steve Johnson/500 bid bucks last off-season.

2. Not really a trade, but at roster cut down at the end of last season Arian Foster was let go, and I picked him up for 50 bid bucks.

Bad Moves

In a 2 QB league...

3. Traded Cassel and Mike Vick for Donovan McNabb in an attempt to upgrade my starting QBs last off-season, this was after holding Vick for 3 years. (trade with same owner as 1.)

Look, you've said that the trade is "fishy", implying that the trade is sooo bad that you suspect collusion. I just don't think it is.Vick doesn't have to be the top fantasy player for the next 4 years. He doesn't have to be the top QB over the next 4 years. In fact, I don't even have to *think* he'll be any of those things. All that matters is that the guy who made the trade thinks that Vick is a big enough upgrade at QB for his production plus Floyd's production and whatever he has left at RB to be an overall improvement for his team. Some people think Vick is possibly the number one most valuable player in fantasy. In my league he scored SEVEN ppg more than the next highest player. If you believe he'll keep that up, it's a huge advantage.

Would I make this trade? In a vacuum, probably not. But if I were some combination of solid enough at RB and/or WR, down on Mendenhall/Jackson, high on Vick/Floyd, or one top QB away from a championship, I might make the trade. Hard to say for sure. But it's certainly not out of the question that someone could be high enough on Vick/Floyd and low enough on Mendenhall/Jackson to make this move.

It's also worth remembering that an owner doesn't always have to "win" a trade for the trade to improve their team. I've made trades like that many times, and I'm glad we don't have league voting for that reason - I'd hate to have other owners protecting me.

This does not fit. So the #1 PPG scorer in the game plus a 1st rounder, plus a WR that will probably be in the top 60 for the #9 RB and #15-20 WR? Sounds good to me...

Did it ever occur to you to be humble? I'm sure the guy you traded with is reading this and debating whether to trade with you in the future. Not so much because you fleeced him, but more because you're being a Richard for posting about it. Just my opinion, no big deal to me.

Keep 3 league:

Won 2008: Traded S-Jax and 2nd rounder for ADP and 3rd rounder...not sure who he grabbed in the second, but I walked away with Ray Rice in the third.

Lost 2010: Traded ADP and 4th rounder for MJD and 2nd rounder. I ended up taking Ocho with the second rounder, and he wisely took Mike Williams (and can keep him as a rookie exemption) with the 4th rounder.

Humility comes when I don't win the championship so I have a lot to be humble about. Fortunately the majority of the guys in this particular league do not read these forums.Besides...at the time Boldin was suppose to blow up under the Ravens offense and Nicks had a good season just once. At the time the trade was decent value, but in hindsight, I won in the trade IMO.

I play in a dynasty keeper league with 25 man rosters and only a 5 drop requirement each spring.

***********************************

I received Tony Romo and a second round rookie pick for Samkon Gado. (Bledsoe was still playing for Cowboys at the time)

Last pre-season I received Josh Freeman for Tim Hightower.

I was thinking the same thing when i posted mine. I actually left out some other trades that i "won" by alot more because of it.

Though I understand where you are coming from, but what is the difference of posting the trade wins here or posting trade thoughts and results in the Assistant Coach? Wouldn't it be the same thing? Had I posted this trade and asked if I won and everyone says, "Yes you won, the guy is a fool to trade that", would that be any different?

Not a big difference except these trades are ones that were completed years ago and looks like people are flaunting a bit. In rate this trade threads, its usually trades that just happened and are usually pretty close.I dont really think there is anything wrong with this thread, but you are taking a chance of maybe offending someone. I wouldnt be offended if someone posted a trade they ended up getting the better of me, but i can understand why someone might.A couple years ago i was pretty high on Anthony Gonzalez and traded Philip Rivers for him. In the same league last year i traded the 1.1 and Darren Mcfadden for Johnny Stewart and Donald Brown. I wanted Stewart for the 1.1, but he wouldnt do it without Mcfadden/Brown. I was pretty high on both, so i decided to accept the trade. As a matter of fact, last offseason in that league my RB's went from:Chris JohnsonMatt ForteDarren McfaddenSteven JacksonAmhad Bradshawto:Ryan MathewsJohnny StewartDonald BrownCJ SpillerAmhad Bradshaw:X

Right after the NFL Rookie Draft last year (2010), I was offered the following in one league:

I trade 2010 1.10 and 2010 6.10.

I get 2010 1.04.

I could not hit "Accept" quickly enough.

1999:

I get:

Marshall Faulk, RB, STL (right before they became the 'Greatest Show on Turf')

I give up:

Ricky Dudley, TE, OAK

:D
