Trading Draft Picks (1 Viewer)

For the 1st time in my 8 year league we have determined draft position well in advance of the draft and are allowing trading of draft picks. This is a 10-team 20 round re-draft league. Are there value charts avaiable in order to evaluate draft pick trades?? What kind of strategies do you use for pre-draft day trades?

I have the 8th pick and am looking to move up 2-4 spots (targets are Portis or Ronnie Brown - not sure I will have to move up for Brown though). What does that generally cost somebody?

You can try this link at KFFL....

I don't think you will need to move up for R.Brown although people are starting to jump on his bandwagon for the upcoming season. I think right now he is listed with ADP of 11 but I think that is moving closer to 8-9 picks over the last few weeks. For Portis, I think you will have to move up to 4 to get him, moving to 5 will put your plan in doubt and you would have to be prepared to take R.Brown at 5 if Portis is drafted at 4.

ETA- I believe this calculator is based on 12 team leagues.

You can use an analyzer (on this site and this other one ) to ball park. Talking with the guys in those spots and the player they could get at your spots you are willing to trade is the best way for you to determine who will give you the best deal. Looks like you want the four. Good luck.

Thanks guys. I'll likely stay at 8 unless I can make a nice steal to grab Portis.

Useful tool though for me to use in denying trades for the league that may be unfair.

last year... in a 12 team league I had the #4 pick. The consensous was LT, SA, Priest , and Manning as the 1st 4 players to be picked in our league. I determined that I wanted SA, and did not want the first 3 owners to dictate who I would choose. So I targeted the #2 pick knowing SA would be there and the owner who has the pick likes to deal. I made the deal , swapping #1's and swapping my 4th for his 5th. I took Alexander..who he thought would have fell to 4 (that is why you do not wait, you go and get the guy you want)..he got "stuck" with Preist.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...why would you "deny" a trade of draft picks as long as team A isn't getting Team B's first 10 picks.

Because some people are ####### ######ed and this being the 1st year we are doing it, some people may make big mistakes that impact the entire league. I normally never "veto" a trade by vote, but I forsee this as a possible problem.
