Trading James Harrison (1 Viewer)

Lord of the Rings

Footballguy
Probably more an AC question, but I'm just trying to gauge the value of J. Harrison. I own him in a few leagues and I have decent depth at LB on those teams. So I'm thinking of offering him up to strengthen other weak positions (RB or WR). Trading IDPs for offensive players is never easy, but I was just wondering what type of RB would you trade him for? What type of WR? If you desperately need LB help and wanted a stud, what would you be willing to give up to get him? Thanks.

What's your scoring system (for offense and defense) and starting requirements? That would be good to know in order for the rest of us to determine his value.

12 Team, start: 1 QB, 2-3 RB, 3-4 WR, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB + 2 Flex DL,LB,DBScoring: 6 pt all TDs, 10 yd rush/rec = 1 pt, 25 yd pass=1 pt, Non-PPR, 3 pts per sack, 1.5 (half sack), 1 pt per tackle (.5 per assist), 3 pts per INT

I'm in the same boat, but in my league the scoring isn't so skewed against IDP.

I'm going to try to combine Harrison with a 1st round rookie pick for a tier 2 RB.

After his performance in the superbowl, is he now a prime sell high candidate? My league is a tackle heavy league, so he only finished LB8 overall, and i can't forsee him doing as well as he did this year ever again.

I tried to trade him a couple weeks ago with no success, but i think it should be a little easier now.

Yes, it should help. Jsut offer him up, and see what comes in. In a tackle-heavy league you can do better.

I was surprised to see that he is 30 years old and soon to be 31.

What age can a LB last too. I know he does not have alot of wear and tear but I remember the Lloyds, Greenes, Bells and even Porter etc dying pretty quick in Pittsburgh. Especially if his contract is coming up soon.

Straight up for WR Roy Williams? Or should I ask for more? Do I have to give more?
I'd do that, if you think you can get an extra upgrade thrown in, it would be good.
Trade that just went down in one of my leagues:J. Harrison/C. Rogers (WSH-CB) for K. Dansby (AZ-LB)/'09 3rd round pick.Guess off hand Harrison would have gone for more...but, I suppose Dansby is younger and coming off a solid year of his own.ETA - noted another one - probably more true to scale:J. Harrison for D. Ryans (HOU-LB)/Q. Mikell (PHI-S)

I like the non-Harrison side of both of those. Wish I owned him to sell.

Was just dealt for a mid-2nd rounder in a 16 team league I am in.
That's a steal, IMO. I am a Harrison owner and would never consider selling for that. I'd rather hold just for the upside he has... mid-second rounders are meh.

I love my screen name said:
In my 16 team full IDP dynasty league, this deal went through.1.7, 2.7, James Harrison, and Bob SandersforMJDLarry Foote
thats the kind of deal that im trying to pull off with my 1.5 rookie pick. Though i highly doubt i'd be able to get MJD in return.

Needed major LB'er help.

Traded JaMarcus Russell (would never start for my team) and the 3.10 in the Rookie draft for Harrison.

Also traded for Beason and Vilma so now have 3 top 10 LB'ers.

Interesting... what's your scoring system? I own Harrison and Russell in my primary league... I am still very high on Russell long-term, but he typically isn't fetching much. I traded for Ryan last year, so I have Ryan and Russell right now, and I would definitely trade Russell for a top 10 LB if I could. Conversely, I don't think I would TAKE Russell for Harrison.Harrison is hard to pin down on value. On one hand, he's an OLB and tied to the big play. On the other, he's now been a top 3 guy in most formats (and probably top 1 in big-play scoring) the past 2 years. I was reluctant going into this past year, trying to sell him last year... but now, having watched him a second season, it sure seems like those big plays aren't flukes... he just makes them, whether it's sacks or INTs.Obviously last year his numbers were inflated because of that one RIDICULOUS game, but I posted some analysis here that showed that, without that game, he was actually pretty consistent otherwise. Going forward, I think he has to be seen as a top 10 LB.

Just traded Harrison, Roddy White and D Mac Fadden for MJD, Beason and Sidney Rice in a dynasty league (non-ppr.) Thoughts?
