Trading two firsts for a player - with a challenge inside (1 Viewer)

SO before we start - some disclaimers - yeah it's not a perfect exercise and there are other factors involved - but it is what it is.  If you are allowed to cherry pick there wouldn't be a challenge.  Using drafts from 3 and 4 years ago to allow time to develop.

We did this a while back when the Bears traded 2 firsts for Cutler - and the findings were that two firsts isn't all it sounds.  

But we as fantasy owners tend to think they are gold

So below are the 2017 and 2018 drafts. 

The challenge is two find two players taken with the same number pick you would rather have than Stafford - lets assume picks have to be outside the top 10

Or you can even vary by one pick - so the 15 pick in one round and the 16 in the other

Or you can look at a certain teams picks and say I would rather have those - so you might say you prefer the two picks the Titans got (that's an example)

I would rather have Deshaun Watson + Vita Vea (or, really, Watson + anyone).  Lattimore + Fitzpatrick is pretty juicy.  Maybe Tre White + Calvin Ridley.

I think the dropoff from Stafford to the backup matters too, though.  I'd be more inclined for those deals if I have a mid-level QB as a replacement.  If I'm ending up with a bottom-of-the-barrel starting QB after giving up Stafford, my answer might change.

I think OP's post said they had to picks outside of the top 10, otherwise I would agree with some of your other ones as well.
