Trading your 1st and 2nd round picks (1 Viewer)

Our league has been going for 4 years now and this is the first year we have keepers. We are allowed to keep 2 at the cost of their draft picks (nothing more in terms of that pick -2) and if you keep 2, you also lose a 3rd rounder. We can only keep guys selected in rounds 6-22

I am currently 2-5 and am 2 games out of the playoffs. I just traded my 1st and 2nd round picks this year (will not say who because I dont want this to turn into a AC thread) for 2 players (1 keeper eligible) and a 7th round pick next year.

Can some dynasty or keeper guys tell me if you have ever done this and if it has paid off for you in the long run. I did get some value back for this year so its not like Im tanking the season. Just wondering if the extra draft pick and keeper eligible player helps for the following year

We keep one player in my league (same player can't be kept two years in a row) and I generally trade any first round pick not in the top three for second and third rounders. I prefer depth to having a first round guy bust out on me like a Edge or a Caddy Williams.Worked this year as every pick I made (except McGahee) worked out like a charm.
