Travis Henry Fans: COME GET ME! (1 Viewer)

I will say this as both a Redskins fan, and an owner of Henry in two leagues. This game is hardly some defining ratification of Henry's talent. The Redskins are in absolute disarray right now, and by all accounts gave up in this game. I'm absolutely ashamed of that, despite the fact that that got me 30 pts in two leagues from one of my RB's. Watch the Bills next week, and I'm sure you'll see Henry come back to earth. He's not as bad as Gunz says, but he's no stud either.

In a little over 5 games now, Travis Henry has scored 9 TDs! Not to mention the fact that he's been hurt, Bledsoe and the Oline have often played poorly, and Moulds has now missed 2 games in a row.Despite all that, Travis Henry remains a fantasy stud RB.Tommy, you need to find a new whipping boy b/c Henry is going to embarass you.

Yep. Despite getting a fat "0" in 2 games because of the injury, Henry has moved back solidly into the top 10 after this weeks performance. I'll admit, he is on most of my teams & the injuries & yardage concerns have had me trying to get some value for him. Problem is, noone will give value on him because of the yardage & McGahee rumors & he just keeps putting up great points every week. Hopefully this weeks game can be the start of something good for the Buffalo running game.

  :D  I friggin love it. Tommy, you're a real Jackarse! If Henry can take a hit on his quad with his foot planted like he did and not sustain an injury...he's my man. It looked ugly, but he came out the next Bill's possession.

but to his credit, henry capitalized on the skin defesne.i dont here people stating that the tuna cant coach and his team beat a 2-4 giants team, detriot, arz, a grabage philly team, and another team i forget, but they probaly sucked too. the jets was the other game.i here that parcells is 2nd coming.also, when did having a good game in a good matchup situation become a bad thing. hey, d.maccalsier will come back to earth. he played atl

Using the scoring system FBG uses when publishing their YTD stats, Travis Henry was the #10 RB going into this week's games. He is currently #6, and will likely still be there after MNF - Priest is already ahead of Henry YTD, and Charlie Garner (closest KC/OAK RB behind Henry) needs 255 yards from scrimmage and 3 TDs to catch Henry YTD.
Doh!Team I'm playing against needs Garner to score 42 on MNF to beat me. 255 + 3 TD's = 43.5I feel jinxed. :yucky:

I'm here to take my medicine, for the week at least. Henry had a monster game, and deserves the props he's getting as a top 6 back at this point. We'll see where he stands after KC, a bye, and Dallas. My advice: Move Henry this week. His monster game against the poorus Skins yesterday has likely inflated his value as close to preseason value as it will get this year. Don't be caught holding Henry in 4 weeks when he has a couple of 21-45 days.

Keep telling yourself that, TommyGunz. ;) He's ALREADY missed basically 2 games and he's still ranked as high as he is. He's battled injury in a couple other ones, and the offense around him hasn't made things easier. Sure, the Washington defense sucks, but they also played the game without the threat of Eric Moulds.Take a look at his fantasy production over the 5 games he's played, and that's about what you can expect from him over the rest of the season.Did you notice the great performance by Ahman Green yesterday? You know, the 20 carry, 35 yard performance running the ball? Of course, stud RBs NEVER have games like that, eh? Running backs have off weeks, but it'll all even out in the end.

Wait you missed the TD's 21-45-2TD's :)

Portis, Tomlinson and Priest all have had bad weeks. Steelers4life is right.

Thought I'd give my favorite thread a bump. Henry did well against KC. His stats going into his bye:558 yds rushing, 101 yards receiving, 9 total TDs (on pace for 1300 total yards and 18 TDs)His top 10 status ought to hold up easily through the bye...can't wait to see how he looks coming out of the Dallas game.Personally, I think TG's best hope is another injury...though losing a few carries to McGahee could also make this situation interesting to watch even if McGahee is no threat to start this year.

2003 stats

Travis Henry 7G, 149rush, 551yds, 3.7ypc, 8TD, 16rec, 101yds, 1TD

Ricky Williams 8G, 197rush, 660yds, 3.4ypc, 5TD, 25rec, 171yds, 1TD

If YPC is such a great indicator of RB ability, I guess this means Travis Henry is a better RB than Ricky Williams.

I love this!Last year, Henry was only a top 10 back because of injuries, right TommyGunz?Well, this year Henry is the one who's been injured. He's missed almost 2 games entirely, battled torn rib cartilege in a few others, had his bye week.... and he's STILL top 10. Imagine how high he'd be if he hadn't missed those 2 games! 7th? 6th? I wouldn't deal him straight up for more than a couple RBs right now.

Henry's borderline top 10 as we speak.Too early to call either way. I stand by my prediction.
Yep, he's borderline top 10, maybe top 9.... AFTER MISSING BASICALLY 2 GAMES ON TOP OF HIS BYE. His PPG is much higher than that. He's borderline top 10 with a YPC over half a yard lower than what it was last year... although it's still higher than Ricky Williams, who was normally taken in the top 3 of most drafts. What does that tell you about Travis' chances to stay in the top 10, or even move up? I'd say he's a lock unless he misses even more time due to injury.

Ranked number 14 overall in my league even after a bye and missing a game. I would have to say that he is a TOP 10 er....HAHAHAHA

He better pick up his production in the second half, because the Willis McGahee train is about to leave the station. He's either got to keep his job or showcase himself for a trade to another team.Either way, I just acquired him in my dynasty league, so he's almost guaranteed to suck now. :(In happier news, I got rid of William Green, which should cause his production to soar. Please feel free to send gifts. ;)

He's 10th currently in one league in scoring and 9th in the other league...he should have another good game this week in Dallas. He'll have to in order for the Bills to have a chance to win.

In No Mercey scoring (1/10, 6, -2 fumble lost) he is ranked 9th.

Code:
1. Holmes, Priest KCC 1772. Green, Ahman GBP RB 170 3. Lewis, Jamal BAL RB 145 4. Tomlinson, Ladainian SDC RB 141 5. Davis, Stephen CAR RB 130 6. McAllister, Deuce NOS RB 128 7. Portis, Clinton DEN RB 128 8. Alexander, Shaun SEA RB 124 9. Henry, Travis BUF RB 111 10. Williams, Ricky MIA RB 106
I see Ricky passing him up and possibly Barber and Taylor who are only about 15 points away.

Just remember - he missed all of one game and 3/4 of another on top of his bye week, and he's still stayed right with everyone else.If his 2nd half production per game played stays consistent with his 1st half, he'll move UP the list, not down. Aside from the games he's missed, his PPG is nearly top FIVE.

uumm, let me get this straight....you are bumping this thread because Henry got 80 yds against the 3rd toughest defense in the league (yds/game) that has also allowed the fewest rushing TDs (3)???sorry, what is your point??????

?????21-80 in Dallas without any passing game to speak of sure sucks, huh?His PPG is well inside the top 10, and if his total points fall slightly out of it for now, that's the breaks.I've said it before - injury is the only thing that can keep him out of the top 10, and he's already missed 1 3/4 games more than the other RBs. And to think you're the one who #####ed all last year about injuries affecting the rankings...

Injuries have also cost Marshall Faulk, Cory Dillion, and the Edge any chance they had at top 10. All three were ranked ahead (Faulk and Edge) or just behind Henry (Dillon).Henry's currently #11 in my league, but our scoring system is unique. I'd be interested to see where he stands in the standard FBG scoring system. (Ferris?)Henry is currently only a few points ahead of Ricky Williams and Mike Pittman.Looks like my prediction that Henry won't finish top 10 is proving to be fact at the 10 week mark. It could go either way the finial 7 weeks. Should be interesting. :boxing:

Henry isn't a top 10 RB at this point.

Actually, I had Henry ranked one spot behind Faulk, ahead of Edge by 2 spots, and way ahead of Dillon. And the difference between Henry and those guys is that Henry has produced for the most part when he's played, as evidenced by his points per game played (disregarding the 1 3/4 games missed, which should be done for PPG)Faulk hasn't done squat with his playing time, Edge hasn't been anything close to what he used to be, and Dillon hasn't done anything with the carries he's got. Henry has battled through torn rib cartilege and still produced.Bring on the Texans..

Counting the Miami game when Henry was injured in the first quarter and scored -2 points, he has played in 8 games and put up 119 points total. I believe his average points per game played of 14.875 would rank him 8th among RBs.

Where does he rank counting all of his games?

Where does he rank counting all of his games?
11th...just behind Fragile Fred Taylor and 1pt behind Moe freaking Williams and Clinton Portis. He's also 0.9 points per game ahead of Ricky Williams who was drafted #1 overall in many leagues and has played in every quarter of every game this season.

Welp, rather than get some more "cheap" touchdowns, Henry is just piling on some "cheap" yardage this week against Houston. He's never going to finish in the Top 10 RBs. No way.

Hahaha, well, we'll see how this plays out. I said all along that only an injury to Travis could keep him out of the top 10. As the offense has struggled as a whole, the guy's been a machine for the past 4 weeks. After a slow start carrying the ball (aside from the TDs), his last 4 games have totaled...97 carries for 520 yards and 2 TDs against WASH, KC, DAL, and today against HOU.For those that complain about his YPC, that's a 5.4 YPC clip. If he's out, he's out. If he misses even one more game, or his leg hampers him for a while, he won't finish top 10. The guy's still a stud. Beyond the personal reasons why I hope this doesn't hurt his production, it would've been great to have him finish off his inevitably top 10 season just to see TommyGunz backpeddle again.

To clear up any ambiguity re: injuries, let's agree that injury will not be an excuse for either side should it affect the wager. If Henry goes down for the seaon in week 2, I win the wager. Conversely, if Deuce, Faulk, Priest, Ricky, LT2, Portis, and Tiki go down, allowing Henry to slip into the top 10 at #10, I have no excuse and I lose the wager.

9 more fantasy points for our man TH yesterday.Admirable showing considering his leg has a small fracture.Henry's currently sitting at RB #13 in my big play league, just about where I predicted.Anyone know where he stands in standard leagues?

TommyGunz, it's over. He's got no chance, and once the Bills are officially eliminated, he'll probably shut it down. At least he should. To do what he did with a hairline fracture in his leg is remarkable.I said many times that only an injury to him would keep him out of the top ten, and he'd be close to top 5 or 6 without one. And he was. A healthy Travis Henry put up great points this year, but the torn rib cartilege and now the cracked fibula did him in. And based on points per game played, he was rolling along close to the top FIVE. He'll struggle along a little bit for a few more weeks, and that'll be it.Congratulations, you're right. Whatever satisfaction you get in being right because of a situation like this is up to you. Sad thing is, he was really on a tear over the month before he broke his leg, and he was every bit the fantasy RB I expected him to be this year when he was healthy.

I totally agree. I have no regrets drafting Henry as the 14th pick of the first round. He's singlehandedly won me several weeks this year in my TD-heavy league. If Henry has to sit now, so be it. I'm just glad I've got Edge (who I also have no regrets picking as the 1st pick of the second round) and Dominack Davis.

I think he's currently sitting at #10 among RBs in standard scoring systems, despite missing about 7 quarters and playing injured most of the season.

Yup. And if he'd stayed healthy this year, he'd likely be ahead of Ricky Williams and Portis, and maybe even Stephen Davis . . . despite playing on a lousy team and in an inept offense.

I just went back and double-checked. If he doesn't shut it down, I suppose he still has an outside chance at the top 10, but I doubt his leg will allow that to happen. For purposes of calculating PPG, I disregard the week he missed against Philly, the week he scored negative points after playing 1 quarter against Miami, and his bye week. Before yesterday, his PPG placed him right at the #5 overall RB, maybe #6 in a league that gives a pt per reception. If that's a bust, I'll take it every time at the end of the 1st round.

Took Travis with pick 13 in a 16 team league and have been very happy with his production from that spot. More than happy as this league gives 2 pts per rec. (which has been great for a league this size as it did not give the teams picking first a serious advantage by having the "stud" RB's) I would like to see him finish top ten if not just for the fact that he has been playing for a pathetic offense and playing hurt (no faking injuries like that "sissy" McNair... :rotflmao: good stuff) Anywho I do think once they are eliminated it will be interesting to see what he does, if that has not already happened. He looked pretty good yesterday but is he going to risk a serious injury just to be trade bait next year or the year after?

I didn't realize that we were to erase of all Henry's bad games when calculating PPG.Weak Steeler4Life, Weak.......

Hahaha, not weak at all. Those aren't bad games - those are games he missed. That stat is points per game PLAYED. He didn't play versus Philly, and he basically didn't play against Miami, either. If counting those 2 games makes your case stronger, that's OK. No, his total points won't beat people who played more games than he did.

Can't predict injuries before the draft, and if you tell me I can have a guy whose points per game played is just about top 5 among runningbacks, I'll take that every time. If he gets hurt, well, that's out of anyone's control.

I watched the Bills on Sunday. I know he was "juiced up" before the game, but Henry showed few signs of being injured and generally ran very well when given the opportunity. I realise that they may (and probably should) shut him down when they are officially eliminated. Until that point, I will start him with confidence. Much like Horn (another long time starter on my squad), Henry is a warrior and will start until further notice. I hope he gets the numbers to shut up tommy gunz, who clearly misjudged Henry's talent level. If he was somewhat heathy this year, I think its fairly obvious that he would be top 5, or very close to top 5.
