Travis Henry (1 Viewer)

Two great weeks and he looks to be taking over the starting job nicely in Tennessee. So is this just mirage and its time to trade him or is he worth a roster spot. For example, in my roster, would you play him over any of these guys(Lamont, McGahee, FWP).

If you are inclined to trade him what players would you be keyed in on, WRS and RBs?

Im thinking about offering him for Chris Chambers? Trade or stay Put?

if it helps i just got offered henry for randy moss. i didn't take it.

i have lendale white.

i just don't see henry finishing the year this strong. at some point the team needs to look at lendale.

sell high and grab what you can get... I dont see him lasting long. The Titans dont have much invested in him.

I don't necessarily agree with this. Is LenDale the future? Probably, but for this year I think they'd be happy to let Henry get the majority of the carries. Why? Because I'm sure Henry is a better blocker and better at picking up the blitz than a rookie would be. This protects their rookie franchise QB a little better than starting White. Now if Henry wasn't producing then I could understand putting White in by why try to fix the one bright spot on the offense?

Just got T. Bell and Rhodes for Henry and Glenn. I was loaded at WR with Holt, Driver, Barrien and D Jackson, OK at RB with Jackson, Gore and Barlow.

Tough bye week.

I agree. I dont see them putting Lendale in there. They are going to need a veteran RB in there to help protect Vince Young. Nonetheless I am torn watching the production of Henry the past two weeks on my bench. He could replace Lamont in my lineup but a nice WR would help me as well.

What WRS would you go after?

Saying L. White is the future automatically reminds me of when Duckett was drafted in ATL. Every year he was supposed to be the man because he was drafted so high, was big and had speed to boot. Oh and what a college career...sound familiar?

White has a better skill-set then Duckett. Lendale can actually catch and make a move or two.

I would start Henry over Jordan.
That's what I'm thinking. I have Henry, Jordan and Chester T.FWIW, I like Henry for this season, but agree White may steal carries later on in the year. Trade for Henry to get you to the playoffs, but have a backup to start IN the playoffs just in case.

The Titans want to run the ball and then run it some more. Even if they decide to put White on the field to get a better look at him, they won't pull Henry from the starting spot if he's giving them this type of production.

The only way I could see Henry losing the starting job is if his production completely drops off, or if he gets injured. In the meantime I'd think Henry keeps getting 20-25 carries a week. White would probably be getting anywhere from 8-12 in a best case scenario. He'll have to prove he is the more productive back with his limited reps in order to take the majority of carries down the stretch in my opinion.

I think you let Henry put up another good game in week 8 against Houston then try to sell high. His schedule after that is:

@ Jax

Balt

Philly

NYG

Indy

Houston

Jax

Buffalo

NE

Other than Indy I would say most of those matchups are either neutral or bad.

That is ridiculous to say, when Duckett came out he was drafted higher and almost all the scouts really liked what they saw in him at college. L. White looked good, but I wonder if he was not in a such a powerhouse as USC or even not hte featured back and took much of Bush's clean up work, if he's be all that special.

FWIW - Henry was just traded in my league for Greg Jennings. Jennings owner is loaded at WR and needed help at RB. That said, if Henry turned out to be a gift on your roster, sell him soonest. If you're thin at RB maybe do like HULLOBUDMAN suggests.

I sold high this week. I packaged Henry with Vick to get Eli and Vinatieri.

I wanted upgrade at QB and Vinatieri should be gold down he stretch.

I am set at RB and picked Henry up from WW last week.

Fantasy production is a matter of talent plus opportunity. Clearly Henry has both.

Plus, like has been said before, the best way for the Titans to protect and develop Young is to have a strong running game and put him in manageable down and distance situations. Look for them to run it 30-35 times a game and I expect Henry to get the bulk of those carries for the forseeabble future.

One other thing, Jeff Fisher needs to win games. They do not want a #1-5 pick in nxt years draft and I think he wants to save his job. So, they need to win games and I think Henry gives them the best chance to do that.

Henry is a SELL NOW

White will take carries away as the season goes on. Any Henry always seems to get hurt. Plus one look at the upcoming schedule should help to prove that he is a sell now candiate.

i agree that they go out to win every game, but i wouldn't be suprised if they are planning for a very high draft pick in the back of their minds. I'd imagine they would be looking at a young stud WR like calvin johnson from georgia tech to pair with Vince/Lendale. put the rest of the picks in o-line/defense and hit the free agent market hard for o-line/defense since they will have a decent amount of cap space..i think floyd is already planning for life after fisher. Rumors swirling about pete carroll from USC possibly teaming back up with norm chow.

They allready invested alot at WR with Givens. Since O-line is the most glaring need, I think they would rather be in the 5-15 draft possition than the 1-5 due to the cap and value.

Remember, right before the then Tenn. Oilers/Titans went on a 5 year playoff run, they went 8-8 for 2 (or 3?) seasons and built their team with mid first round picks that were very cap friendly (E George (14th), K Dyson (16th), Kearse (16th) and Bulluck (30th)). If given the choice, I think they would like to build that way again, leaving cap room to sign free agents.

I agree, Floyd is keeping his options open, but there is no way Carroll (or Wiess to Dallas) is going to happen.

Back to Henry, IMO, unless he becomes ineffective (which I doubt, due to the comitment) or hurt, he is the man in in Tennessee.

Henry has looked real good the last two games. But White also looked good in his previous two games before his bout with the flu. So I think the question coming out of the bye for the Titans is do they give the carries completely to White or do they continue with the plan that was in place before White's illness - Henry getting the majority of the carries but White also getting 8-10 a game? White was doing well so there definitely could be an argument made for the latter.

Hilarious - three of the top-10 threads today in the Pool are on topics we are discussing in the pay content round table discussion.

We also discuss whether THenry is for real this year and what owners should do with him.

Over the last 2 weeks Titans RBs have had 27 and 35 carries. If they are going to be (semi) successful, that is going to continue. The question is, how are those carries going to be distibuted?

So what is your opinion on it then Marc? You don't need to go into detail because I am sure you don't want to give up anything in the pay section, but just curious as to where you stand. Always respected your opinion. TIA

Thanks, wholefnshow, but I really can't talk about it much until later.

There'snot much there that I haven't said already on the boards - except for some specific advice on what to do with THenry right now.

Whatever happens with THenry this year, fantasy owners should expect L. White to start getting a lot mre carries towards the end of the year (like, during FF playoffs time).

Thanks Marc, that is what I was thinking also. Why when they are out of contention would they not give their new RB a good long look to see what they have in him. Also they know what they have in Henry and Brown and isn't Henry's contract done this year which would give them more of an idea as to what they have and if they want to resign Henry, draft a new RB, or go with L White.

CBrown is a goner.

THenry's been oft injured.

LWhite shuld get ample opportunity to play near the end of the year - I have had him stashed on my roster all year long and I expect to bust him into my flex spot sometime in December.

I'm taking Henry's success the past two games with a grain of salt - Indy's run D sucks and the Redskins were starting rookies DT's I believe. He does have a good matchup vs. the Texans coming up but after that I think it's time to sell with the Ravens, Jags, Eagles and Giants after that. He does play the Colts and Texans weeks 13 and 14 and could be useful in the playoffs if he's still starting.

yes in collegewhat has White done in the NFL. Henry is back to his Bills days. I think henry will be the start next year for Tennessee. At best it will be RBBC 2007.

I just traded Henry & Antonio Bryant for Marvin Harrison. I am the commish, and the guy i traded with is one of the worse teams, so naturally a few people think it's unfair. I think I got the better end, but if you look at their point totals it's pretty fair.

I have been trying to get Henry just for a #3 RB. The Henry owner is one of those FF players that over values his players. I have offered Horn or Cotchery for Henry, both have put up more FF points than all of his WRs but R. Willimas. But he wants Holt :loco: .
