Did anyone see enough of Lendale White to think he could be the starter in Tennessee next year?

Or is this Travis Henry's job that he had taken over and played well at the end of the year?

Henry, and the team, played very well at the end of the year. Right now, they feel like they can be a playoff contender next year. I think they feel Henry is a good part of the reason for that and he will be the starter. Having watched a few of their games toward the end of the season, I think they would be nuts to move to White.

I don't think WE saw enough good play from Lendale White to say he'd be the starter. I do think he has the ability and realize the coaches see him everyday, not just on Sundays.Brown's a free agent I believe, so Lendale+Henry is probably their 1-2 punch for 07. Camp will decide the order. That's probably exactly what Fisher wants so each push each other during training.FWIW I wasn't so pleased with Maroney the last few games. He's loaded with talent and I'm positive the Pats got a good one. However when the D knew he was coming and he had to run right at em', he struggled. That's OK, he's young, he'll handle it better in the future I'm sure but a back that can do that is essential to keeping a lead, "eating the clock" etc in the playoffs. He missed a few key blocks too and I remember at least two passes that he turned his head too late. As the dump off guy, he can't do that, he's gotta be ready. He needs Dillon to learn from still. Similarly, White still has some learning to do.

It will be Henry's to lose, White will have to show reason in camp to force the switch. I wouldn't be surprised to see a decent mix next year.I highly doubt Chris Brown would return, any thoughts on where he signs?

I think its a wait and see situation really; training camp will show us a lot.

I sort of agree with a previous poster that Henry has to be the favorite though and White will have to prove he is legit in order to wrestle away the job.

My current guess is that we see a 65/35 split; in favor of Henry in 2007.

Brown = free agent

Henry = due a 8.3mil roster bonus (I believe in March). Restructure or be cut.

If he restructures, he'll do well in a one-two punch offense with White. Couldn't tell you if Henry's punch one or punch two, but would assume that he starts the year as one.

Even if he does restructure, expect the Titans to draft a RB for depth. They only (currently) have Brown, White, Henry and Ganther on the roster. Just because they draft one doesn't not mean we have to read anything into it. But I'm sure the Lendale haters will anyways.

Henry is 28 now and turns 29 in October. Chance are Henry may be looking at getting that last good contract offer.

Henry and his agent have said they'd restructure so (as of now) that's really not an issuedecent link for this thread
