I own henry and drafted him 2nd overall and also held onto him thru all the crap that went on...but i have to say that young just looks more explosive, smaller but faster and can score from anywhere on the field...henry does`nt look like he could run more than 20 yards before getting caught from behind....so i`m guessing the coaches see this also...henry ,IMO, will play second fiddle to young from here on out. Here's what CBS Sportsline has to say. Take it FWIW, which is probably not much.Selvin Young rushed for a career-high 156 yards on 17 carries in Week 14 vs. Kansas City. He saw most of the carries with Travis Henry nursing a sore knee. Henry finished with 24 yards on 10 carries. You will need to follow up on the status of Henry in the upcoming week. Young would likely go back to being the secondary back in Week 15 at Houston Thursday night, if Henry is fully healthy. When healthy, Henry is useful as a No. 2 back in any Fantasy league.
Jones has a brutal matchup in S.D. On the other hand, if anyone knows how to stop the Broncos cutblocking/1-cut-and-go running scheme, it would be Gary Kubiak, who helped orchestrate it in Denver. Let's just hope we hear some helpful news in the coming days. It's just so frustrating. The one team that you can almost GUARANTEE will have a good running game performance every week is the Broncos. Furthermore, the primary back, whoever it is will always get the bulk of the carries. But who knows who it's going to be each week?I have Selvin and I sat him down for Kevin Jones which worked out OK for me. But Jones is inconsistent, to say the least, and I would love to start Selvin this Thursday. Only it's my leagues's semifinals, and if I only knew for sure...
Henry blows. He runs like he has 30# blocks of cement for feet. Selvin is faster, Selvin is quicker, Selvin can catch better, Selvin is more explosive. Selvin Young. Skeletor is not a moron like John Fox. He will play the better RB.Oh yeah. Don't ever listen to CBS Sportsline. They have no clue. Here's what CBS Sportsline has to say. Have you ever made a mistake?FBG predictions for this week: Travis Henry #17 RB Selvin Young, #46 RB.Great predictions.
Let's assume for a second that this is fact.Should we be optimistic about his chances @ San Diego on Monday Night in week 16?(I have a bye this week... that's why I'm jumping ahead a bit)It appears that Young is the bell cow right now.
Slated by whom ? ...the media?...has shanny come out and said henry will start ?PatrickT said:The thing that drives me crazy about this is that this the second week in a row that Henry has been "slated to start", as late as Saturday, maybe even Sunday morning, only to see Selvin actually get the start.LJ! Come back and save me!
I have been going under the apparently false impression that the media was getting there info on who would start from the head coach. I was pretty certain it was actually Shanny who was quoted with the slated to start stuff this week, but I could be wrong.Slated by whom ? ...the media?...has shanny come out and said henry will start ?PatrickT said:The thing that drives me crazy about this is that this the second week in a row that Henry has been "slated to start", as late as Saturday, maybe even Sunday morning, only to see Selvin actually get the start.LJ! This might not sit well with many, but it leads me to believe that isn't so much a passing of a torch, but a stop gap until Henry is ready to assume the role of #1 carrier. Some good stuff here: http://www.denverbroncos.com/page.php?id=1...ear=&month=
It's a link to Shannahan's post game conference. About the 1:45 mark he talks about Henry/Young
Paraphrasing:
-Henry is not 100% and running at "full speed".
-His plan was to get Henry about "10-20 plays (not touches) and get back into the swing of things"
-Young was healthy and in "excellent football shape"
-Shanny does not want to put a guy out there who is not running at "full speed".
-Henry has missed 4 weeks and not in "football shape"
I'll let you know Thursday, at 8:31.So, if Henry was not in game shape on Sunday....chances are he won't be much better on Thursday, right? Curious what owners of both Henry and Young are doing right now. You have a playoff game week 15, do you start them both, roll the dice with one, or avoid them? Don't have any broncos on my team, but am playing a Henry/Young owner this weekend.
No we don't. Not at all.My options are Henry/Young/Maroney/LJ.
We all know if Henry is healthy he'll get the carries but the problem is he doesn't seem to be healthy. Healthy enough to snag just enough carries to really screw the value of both guys but not healthy enough to carry the load himself.
Well I suppose realistically we don't know anything at all. However, I'm going to base my assumption off Shannahan's history-he even said post game that the reason Henry didn't get a lot of work was because he wasn't 100%. Skeletor has been rather honest with the world of fantasy footballers over the years and if somebody is capable of carrying the load he gives them 20 or so carries a game. Imo, the question is only whether Henry will be healthy enough this Thursday to grab the bulk of the carries. Granted that's a huge question but imo that's all that it comes down to.No we don't. Not at all.My options are Henry/Young/Maroney/LJ.

Don't you think that Selvin Young has performed well enough at this point to warrant a significant amount of carries no matter Henry's health? The guy is avaraging 1.4 ypc more than Henry and he's a much better receiver out of the backfield. How do you bench a guy that's running for 5.7 ypc?Henry was healthy enough to play on Sunday and Selvin Young got most of the touches and was very effective with his touches. To assume he'll go back to being a complete backup when Henry gets back is naive at best, IMO.Well I suppose realistically we don't know anything at all. Along with the Rotoworld take:Travis Henry-RB-Broncos Dec. 10 - 3:54 pm et In him Monday press conference, Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said that Travis Henry is "going through a tough time" right now.Shanahan didn't clarify whether he was talking about Henry's knee injury or the suspension situation he recently overcame, but it's evident at this point that Selvin Young is the Broncos' clear-cut starter. Don't expect Henry to keep scoring touchdowns. He's barely a flex option in Week 15 at Houston. Source: denverbroncos.com Not sure if it is as definitive as they think, but hope to find out more before ThursdayHere's what Shanahan had to say in his press conference today FWIW:Emphasizes that Travis Henry is “going through a tough time,” but has also said that both Young and Andre Hall could be productive, 1,000-yard starting running backs with the Broncos. “You can never have too many backs.”
Agree with the bolded. That said, I think given the fact that this is a Thursday night game with only 3 days off and Young played so well yesterday, Denver is not likely to make many personnel changes between now and Thursday. I expect Young to get the majority of the touches like yesterday because what can really change in 3 days?Of course, week 16 should be fun to try to figure out...Along with the Rotoworld take:Travis Henry-RB-Broncos Dec. 10 - 3:54 pm etHere's what Shanahan had to say in his press conference today FWIW:

This could be the exact opposite with a short week...selvin did most of the work sunday...maybe henry being fresher could end up getting more than young ???Agree with the bolded.
