FWIW, Trent Green will be meeting with the Kansas City media following Damon Huard's weekly press conference. KC QBs always meet with the media @ 2:45 on Thursday's. Green will follow whenever Huard gets done.

ESPN affiliate 810 AM WHB just said they will be airing it live. 810whb.com

Basically it's the first time he has met with the media since the concussion.

Thx for the info!

Given that I finally dropped him this morning -- needing a week 5 qb and seeing the wire dwindling- I'm sure he will be announcing his return next week. :D

Thanks for the link! I'm curious. I've already cut him though. I'm not expecting any "big" announcements here, but, would at least like to hear from him.

BTW: The talkshow on right now has terrible personalities....yuck. Almost makes me long to hear some of Kornheiser's shtick... hmm, maybe not.

Green says he feels good, things starting to get back to normal. Says his injury is a day-to-day, week-to-week thing. (Every concussion is different, etc.) Won't practice this week, maybe next week, but likely won't play his first week after practicing.

Just started... (I'll type blurbs when he says something useful)

- He feels great

- He is driving again

- Its day to day, week to week (he repeated this phrase a couple times)

- It didn't seem reasonable that he'd start for the ARZ game (week 5)

- 20-25 minute window that he doesn't remember what happened

- He believes he began his slide early enough that the hit should have been a penalty. But he respects the ref's call.

...continuing...

- When given the green light, he's going. Med staff needs to be specific.

- Been doing ellipticle work and light throwing only (no weights, etc.)

- He isn't even considering retirement at this point

- His support system is behind his decision to keep playing

- Is still having "some" symptoms (he didn't specify) -- he said obviously not enough to impact my driving and other normal activities

- He's been watching college/nfl games and coming up with new plays and formations, etc. "exotic" was the word the reporter used when asking the question

Press conference ended

The Chiefs can win their next two games without Green and get back on track.

But after that, they're done without him. They're arguably done with him, but the difference is huge.

He ended the press conference by saying "I'm Batman", and then ran off stage screaming "To the Batmobile!!!!".

That's not a good sign.

The ESPN crawl just said Green to miss atleast next two games... Don't know if anyone else saw this or not. I don't see this in writing anywhere on the net so I dont know who the source is.

Edit - Now see that Fanball is reporting it as well...

THE NEWS

Quarterback Trent Green spoke to reporters for the first time since his severe concussion against the Bengals in week one. He told reporters that he will miss two more weeks, and that it would be unreasonable for him to play against Arizona on October 8.

Did he actually say he was going to miss two games? From what I read above it sounded like he hinted at it but didn't come out and say it.

Elizabeth Merrill, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs QB Trent Green is unsure when he will return to action, but says he is not considering retirement. "I'm a very positive person and try to think the best," Green said. "I don't even want to answer that. Right now, that's not in my plans. That's not the plans I've been told. And with the support of my wife and kids … they know this is what I do and this is what I love doing."
Sounds to me like we might have seen the last of Trent Green on the football field.
