Great posting.People are over-thinking this.
Pass protection is probably the key here. They won't get luck killed. The guy probably won't arrive until Thursday. I don't see how he can even learn protections that quick. Tough to see him playing meaningful snaps this week but who knows.
Same here. I have T-Rich, McCoy, Gore, and Joique Bell so I am benching T-Rich this week and going with the other 3 at my 2RB and FLEX. I think T-Rich will be up to speed by week 4 when they face the Jags, which could end up being a monster game for him. If Reggie Bush was 100% healthy I might be inclined to stick with T-Rich over Bell.No.
But only because I have better options.
I'd guess Trent gets something like 4 catches, 80 yards total and maybe a TD. Decent, but don't count on a td. He also could do almost nothing ad he learns the playbook. Not worth the risk if you have good options.
Crazy that Moreno is your "bail out" player. Heck of a contingency plan considering he is probably a top 15-18 RB this year. With Lacy hurt...its harder not to start him.
Thankfully, in both leagues that I have both Richardson and Lacy I did stash Moreno. Going with him in both of those.
In the 3rd league that I have him...right now leaning towards Gio and hoping like crazy that GB adjusts their D a bit after some teams have passed on them and allows a little running room (and that he gets a few receptions...PPR)
Drafted him late when nobody was going after him in one league. The other he was an add...but we have very short benches and restricted rosters to just 4 RBs.Crazy that Moreno is your "bail out" player. The Colts think Trent Richardson will be ready to be their primary ball carrier on Sunday in San Francisco, just five days after he was acquired in a trade with the Browns.
Colts coach Chuck Pagano said Richardson will be given “as much as he can handle” against the 49ers and that they didn’t trade for Richardson so he could stand on the sidelines.
“We did not bring him in here to be the water boy on Sunday,” he said. “He’ll be ready to roll.”
oh boy...I like hearing that. The Colts think Trent Richardson will be ready to be their primary ball carrier on Sunday in San Francisco, just five days after he was acquired in a trade with the Browns.

Kind of hard to sit trich after hearing thisoh boy...I like hearing that.they want to win games and as a RB TRich>>>Bradshaw at this point. The Colts think Trent Richardson will be ready to be their primary ball carrier on Sunday in San Francisco, just five days after he was acquired in a trade with the Browns.

Looks like I got my answer.Very unlikely that I will unless I hear IND come out saying that they plan on giving him a full work load right off the bat.
I believe you should go with TRich here. SF may not be as stout in seasons past and DEN's front seven is legit. I can only see DMC salvaging his day via receptions this week. JMHO.Starting him in one league over no good options, sitting him in another league for McFadden. Hedging my bet but I expect a big day. I mean how hilarious is it going to be if he comes out and runs for 150+ and three scores? Of course if he starts and totally tanks I guess the Browns get a good laugh at everyone.
1000% agree - this is exactly what I wanted to hear as a Trent owner in every single league I play.Looks like I got my answer.Very unlikely that I will unless I hear IND come out saying that they plan on giving him a full work load right off the bat.
Definitely has me thinking of throwing him back in there.1000% agree - this is exactly what I wanted to hear as a Trent owner in every single league I play.Looks like I got my answer.Very unlikely that I will unless I hear IND come out saying that they plan on giving him a full work load right off the bat.
Seems a bit optimistic to me. Aren't those close to the numbers he was averaging in Cle -- where he knew the plays, players, and got a full load of carries? This week he's going to a new team, against a good defense, playing on the road across the country -- and he's never played with any of these team mates before.No.

http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/7462/trent-richardsonESPN's Bob Holtzman reported on NFL Insiders Trent Richardson "expects to play and play a lot" in Week 3 at San Francisco.
Richardson told Holtzman the Colts' offense is not entirely dissimilar from Browns coach Rob Chudzinski's, which he's been learning the past seven months. We're still skeptical Richardson will play even close to a full complement of snaps in a new system behind new blockers after two practices as a Colt. His ceiling is probably around 16 carries in a tough matchup at Candlestick
https://www.numberfire.com/nfl/news/1168/trent-richardson-to-the-colts-wait-whatSo far this season (and yes, I’m aware it’s only been two weeks), the Colts rank – wait for it - first in the league in adjusted rushing net expected points per play. With each carry, they’re doing more with the ball than any other NFL team. Again, like the Browns, this may be blowing your mind. But go ahead and take a look at even their raw numbers and you may be surprised. Vick Ballard, before his injury, had a nice 4.8 yards per carry average against the Raiders. Bradshaw ran effectively last week, bringing his season average to 4.1 yards per carry. Even Donald Brown has touched the ball seven times for 30 yards, people.
The Colts have a quarterback that can run with the ball in his hands, too, which helps. But really, this effectiveness shouldn’t be all that eye-opening. Last year under Bruce Arians’ direction, the Colts ranked 14th in efficiency. The reason we didn’t see more fantasy production from their running backs was because there was a committee for parts of the season, and the backs just didn’t get into the end zone.
Trent Richardson, who scored 12 times during his rookie year, will have something to say about that.
Pep Hamilton’s offense is much more balanced than Arians'. Not from a pass-to-run ratio perspective, but from the standpoint that there aren’t as many vertical passes, and the running game matters a little more. Despite valuable, talented receivers and one of the best young quarterbacks in the league, the Colts will run the ball. And Trent Richardson will see better averages because of it.
