Tried doing two drafts at once last night (1 Viewer)

My work league and a fun league I am in with some friends both had their drafts at the same time last night.

Thank god this was not my main leagues..I imploded..had my laptop with a live draft on it..my daughters laptop with a live draft, and my home computer with the DD.

With only 90 seconds between picks for both leagues I used the DD for one and was trying to use cheatsheets I had ready for the other..man I made some blunders. Ended up with a couple of computer picks. All the names started to look the same. Missed a bunch of players I was targeting.

I had the #8 pick in one league and ended up with Frank Gore..was suprised about that.

This will be me next Monday. One is purely for fun so if anything has to go "auto" it'll be that one.

:goodposting:

I did get Portis fairly late in both drafts so he could be my make or break player this year in those leagues.

I had 2 drafts last night as well

One started at 5:00 and ended by 6:45 the other started right up by 7:00 so little rest for me had 10th and 12th spot

I PMd a staffer about being in the same situation on the 5th. My primary league, a local auction, with a $500 entry always drafts/bids the night before the opener. Always. We don't discuss it. 8PM. Show up at the same place, same time, every year. It's tradition. Get there early for some free grub and homemade micro beers if you want.

I'm in a 14 team keeper that has a group of guys who whine and moan their way to a draft date and time every year. I just stay out of it. Let me know what works. I'm flexible. I'll be there. Well this year the only thing that worked is the night before the opener. The night of my only money league's auction. Ugh. The live online draft starts at 7PM.

I think this works okay though. I'll get to the auction site at 6:30. Get online and do the live draft there. I'll get about an hour in before the auction starts. That should be almost half of the draft.

I target specific players in an auction, so I should be able to sit tight and let the names fall as I wait for my guys to come up for bidding while likewise waiting for my next pick in the draft (and keeping a predraft list queued and ready to make my picks). They're going to overlap for about an hour and a half.

This seems dicey, but I think it can be done with little worry and no mistakes.

The key is that one draft gets past the crucial stage before the other gets going. The auction aspect of the second is a bonus. If it's your turn to call out a name, and you know you need to concentrate on the other draft, nominate somebody for $1 you don't want. If you've got itme before the pick in the draft, nominate someone you do want, and work on that.

I did three last night...one at 7:45, one at 8:30 and one at 9:00. Fortunately, the 9:00 one was a 14 team league and I picked 2nd, so there was lots of down time between picks. Equally good was the 7:45 one was a 12 team league where I picked 12th, giving lots of time between picks. Only once at about 9:30-9:40 was I up in all three leagues in a very short span. It was definitely hectic, but I'm glad I did it. Pretty fun. And in one league I passed on Braylon Edwards for Santana Moss, then an hour later took Santana Moss over Braylon Edwards. Quite a lot changed in that hour :blackdot: .

This happened to me a couple years ago. I thought they were on consecutive days, but I was wrong. :goodposting: I was in person at my work league, and I couldn't make my out of town main league anyway. I printed off the DD cheatsheets for each and made my picks over the phone after somebody told me who was drafted between picks. I made a few mistakes with crossing off a player but in the wrong league. Overall, not a fun experience but it didn't go too bad.

I was keeping track of the one league on my DD..while picking in the other I missed a couple of picks and entered the wrong player on the DD..so it took me a couple of minutes to get everything back in order..next thing you know I did not see my time expire..boom Carson Palmer in the second.

I did not want to take a QB until late. It will probably work out Ok..
