that he thinks the other horses are fresh because they didn't run a race 2 weeks ago. IF your horse can't perform after 2 weeks rest maybe your horse isn't really that good buddy.

It looked like he started to make a move a couple of times but just couldn't finish the run off. Definitely looked out of gas.

Was a low class rant but what do you expect, dumb ### partners. The other guy is smart in not engaging with the media. Im not sure whether Coburn is a blessing to him in that he gets the camera time or he regrets everything that he says.
Guy wants to make the triple crown easy so there is nothing special in winning it. Wow, that is really as bad as it gets.

Woulda never had it, but this was the Peter Pan right back. Tonalist/Commissioner. Commissioner had the best distance breeding of anyone in the field, so he wasn't hopeless.

That's what I was wondering. If he won or finished 2nd, someone needs to inform the owner of California chrome that taking a dump pre race should not be allowed. Stick a cork in it.

The win and place horses didn't run either the KD or PS.
The show horse and the T-4 horse ran the KD, but not the PS IIRC.

He got to the Kentucky Derby on his first try. I have no sympathy for the guy. People spend years in horse racing and never reach the Derby.
Guy also yelled at his wife on national tv, what a loser. Dumb ### partners, perfect.

Did they qualify for the Derby and skip it? It was a poorly said rant but if they are letting in horses that didn't Derby qualify I somewhat get what he's saying.

He obviously didn't rehearse his rant. I don't think he is a bad guy. He let his emotions get the best of him. I understand the point he was making, and don't entirely disagree with him. He just should have saved his point of view for another time.

I couldn't believe that guy could complain like that. It's not like the same horses can qualify for each race....the Belmont is a very different race than the Kentucky Derby and Preakness.....I think it's at least a 1/4 mile longer, and that makes a big difference in a horse race.
I mean, I think that California Chrome was the 8th horse since 1979 to win both the Derby and Preakness, but to lose the Belmont. You didn't hear those owners ##### and moan about losing the Belmont. As others have said, it's tough to win the Triple Crown.
And it's not like California Chrome just barely lost either. Finished fifth, at least a few lengths behind the winner.
