trouble with value between positions in trades (1 Viewer)

I got an offer which would give me a backup fantasy QB (Brunell) and a backup fantasy DB (O'Neil) for Madieu Williams. Williams is ranked between 8 and 26 in various rankings across the internet for DB's. Brunell is ranked in the bottom half of all starters, and O'Niel is a top 30-40 DB.

I of course declined that trade and when I offered a more realistic offer, or what I thought was a realistic offer which would have added a second round pick to that deal, he declined. Would that have been too much to ask for or was he just trying to get williams cheap?

Any opinions or insights on if QB's are really that much more valuable that a DB?

League scoring is really agressive and defensive players actually score just as much as offensive players.

This is hard to judge without knowing the full details of the scoring, starting requirements and roster, but here is my :2cents:

Evaluate the players as you would in a start-up dynasty draft. Then consider that there are only 32 starting QBs in the league and only 20-24 of those have much value as a starter for this year. Each team has 4-5 viable DBs so they are much easier to replace.

If backup QB is an area of need, I would consider it. QB is an important position that gives you plenty of points each week.

With as hard to predict as IDPs are, I wouldn't call it a bad offer at all. Especially if you have need at backup QB and aren't likely to find one anywhere else. Brunell was amongst the best backups last year. Unless you're sitting on a Peyton, you could probably play some matchups with him and do well.

Seemed like a legit offer to me value wise.
i'd agree with this. it's not like madieu put up top DB numbers for years and then got hurt...the jury is still out on him
