He has been. Mike Walker was considered the other starter but lo and behold, he has a knee issue. Is he even a starter?
That's what I thought..Holt and Walker. He has been. Mike Walker was considered the other starter but lo and behold, he has a knee issue. Is he even a starter?
I replaced Schillens with Williamson on several teams. By the time Schillens is ready to come back I'll have an idea whether Williamson has arrived or if this is just preseason fool's gold. It's hard to resist the lure of Williamson's speed.Just picked him up![]()
I thought it was an ankle. He has been. Mike Walker was considered the other starter but lo and behold, he has a knee issue. Is he even a starter?
It can be very difficult to keep track of all of Walker's injuries.I thought it was an ankle. He has been. Mike Walker was considered the other starter but lo and behold, he has a knee issue. Is he even a starter?
:X Good luck with that one becasue if you think that bum will do what he's doing (come reg. season) in pre-season you got another thing coming. He's showcased this before in pre-seasons. He's a bum.Just picked him up![]()

Actually, you can teach speed, it's the height thing that's hard to learn, right? You can't teach speed...just saying.

well, it helps having a QB that can actually throw the ball.also, it does typically take a WR 2-3 years to put things together as a starting quality WR. and I'm certain his time in Minnesota didnt help him as much as it should. Still, this is exhibition. dont get too excited. He's getting lots of these catches against 2nd string defenders and some players who may not even be in the NFL in 4 weeks time. If he's still doing really well in his last exhibition game and moves up the depth chart to #2 or #1 on the team, then I'd say it's time to jump on the bandwagon.so let's give it some time and see what he does as the exhibition season progresses.don't know whats got into Troy making all these grabs lately.......on another note he seems to have the same itch ans stain on his shins that Fred Bilietnikoff had![]()
Last night's TD came on the first play from Scrimmage. His catches against Miami came in the first and second quarter. He is not out there exclusively in garbage time. His problem in the past was that he wasn't holding on to the ball. He appears to have overcome that problem to date. There are a lot worse late round WR's to grab. If you wait until he is 1st or 2nd on the depth chart he won't be coming so cheap and if he reverts back to his old self then you have taken a greater gamble and lost an opportunity to pick up a middle round WR with a track record of consistency. I say grab him now with a late roster spot and if he doesn't pan out he can be the roster drop for a hot Waiver Wire pick up during the season.well, it helps having a QB that can actually throw the ball.also, it does typically take a WR 2-3 years to put things together as a starting quality WR. and I'm certain his time in Minnesota didnt help him as much as it should. I don't think anyone is putting Williamson in the upper echelon of wide receivers. Williamson just didn't hold on to the ball in the past. There is a lot of water over the dam with this guy but it isn't a bad gamble to pick him up at this point as an end of the roster gamble. He is getting open and holding on to the ball; that's a pretty good start.I can tell you that Joey Galloway isn't exactly lighting it up for the Patriots. Is Williamson really that much more of a gamble as an end of the roster roll of the dice given that he is showing something? If you hit with him you are likely to get a WR who will be playing opposite Holt in the #2 role and the long ball threat.Ministry of Pain said:MOP here for some reality check...Garrard and Williamson...Garrard was 4/7 for 20 yards against Miami and was under pressure all night long. He did take advantage of a pass rushless Bucs this past weekend but I think it speaks volumes to how bad the TB pass rush is vs Garrard really being able to do much. Williamson is having a nice preseason agianst inferior talent, props to him and everyone else that take him in redrafts.
That's bizarre! I must have seen the other thread and subconciously regestered it's title and repeated it.Tillmanisahero said:Peyton Marino said:can't believe this thread hadn't already been started.actually it has....this is a duplicate thread of http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=482828

Well, there are a lot of factors that go into catching a ball.1) accuracy of the QB. (has been poor in the past)2) the touch that goes on the ball. some WR's have a harder time catching balls from a strong armed QB, while others will actually catch balls better if the QB is right or left handed. I'm not saying this is a major factor, but can be a contributing factor here.3) coaching. sometimes (for unknown reasons) a WR will respond better to certain receiving coaches and badly to others. I'm not saying this guy is going to light it up, but it may be prudent to watch his progress. Enough things have changed for him that it could make a difference to his bottom line.Wadsworth said:I'm not sure yet if Troy is for real. As has been stated previously, Troy has been able to get open in the past, it's holding onto the ball that's been the issue. Maybe he's turned the corner so to speak and finally figured out how to catch the ball. Or maybe he's just had a good streak of catches in the preseason. I know I'm going to have a hard time buying into it until I see it happen in a couple regular season games. If Troy is indeed for real, it could be the end of Mike Walker in Jacksonville. I know Mike is a popular sleeper pick and he has NFL skills, but the Jaguars are extremely frustrated at this point with his lack of ability to get on the field. It would still be somewhat of a surprise if the Jags cut Mike Walker but don't be shocked if it happens.
i bought the hype, he rewarded me greatly week one.fool me once....1 catch for 10 yards in game 1. Thoughts?

Mike Sims-Walker.1 catch for 10 yards in game 1. Thoughts?
Played 21% of the snaps on Sunday. Williamson played 74%.Now, that number might be more of an indictment than anything for Williamson, but if Walker can't get on the field.....Mike Sims-Walker.1 catch for 10 yards in game 1. Thoughts?![]()
I am still clinging loosely to Mr. Sims-Walker as well. More so hoping at this stage.SSOG said:Mike Sims-Walker.Raider Nation said:1 catch for 10 yards in game 1. Thoughts?![]()

Btw, when did we start adding "Sims" to his name? I missed that somewhere along the road...Mike Sims-Walker.Played 21% of the snaps on Sunday. In 2009, Walker officially changed his surname to Sims-Walker to honor his father, Michael Sims, who died from colon cancer on December 6, 2008.
It's probably because he's on the same team with MJD, who did the same thing when he came to the NFL.Btw, when did we start adding "Sims" to his name?
