Trust Blount Today (1 Viewer)

The Milk Man

Footballguy
Anyone else really nervous about trusting L Blount (really Belichick) in the playoffs? One of my unwritten rules of ff is to stay away from Patriot rbs because just when something seems obvious like today, Bolden will get 20 carries or something like that.

I've believe in the "trust your gut" advice and my gut is screaming to stay away.

For context, guys I'm debating with Blount are L Murray and R Jennings.

Thoughts?

Since you started a thread about it, probably looking at 28-116-2.
I hope you're wrong I play against him today. What's funny is my brother picked him up in a thrown-away trade as he has L Bell and Blount was the backup at the time. Now he is rolling out both Bells and Blount as a flex. ugh.

Hard to overlook Blount today. I think Miami has given up over 600 rushing yards the last three weeks.

Heard a stat on NFL radio that the Pats average rushing attempts and rushing yards go up significantly in December ... probably to protect Brady and establish the running game for the playoffs. Cant find the stat anywhere and i dont know specifically what it was but it swayed me start Blount over Herron

I've got him as a flex without many other options. No way I put in Sanu over him at this point and I passed on Kerwynn the other night.

Blount or Joique. This decision is going to end up haunting me. Whatever I do will be wrong and end up costing me my season, I know it.

I feel the same with choosing two of Blount, Hill and Ingram. They're all ranked pretty closely and I probably could choose any two and feel fine about it but I have the feeling that one of the two I choose to start is going to put up a dud.

Blount has had 70% of the carries since he re-signed with NE. Vereen has had 20% (although most of those came in Blount's 1st game back, with significantly fewer in the 2 subsequent weeks), Gray & Bolden have had 5% each. Before his 1st game back, BB said that Blount would determine his own playing time. If he did well, he'd get more, and based on his play (4.8 YPC, consistently getting yards after contact), and lack of any negative reports, one would have to assume that, for right now, he's the back to own in NE.

So, that being said, my guess is that James White is going to lead NE RBs in FF stats this week.

Ive been torn all week between Blount, Ingram and Morris for my last flex spot. Pats and Saints both scare me with who will lead the time shares. Of late Blount and Ingram but who the hell really knows what will happen. At least Morris should get the carries, albeit he might put a stinker in like last week. Still not sure.

Every time I heard or read about how Blount has been establishing himself as the lead back, I would think "sshhhh" Belichick might somehow hear you.

They're gameplan is so week to week, so I don't know how you can really trust this situation. If you're a big underdog, I think it makes more sense because there's definite blowup potential, but if you need someone who can just get you 8-10 points non ppr, it's totally different.

start Blount over Herron
Trich's chance of re-merging this week: Remote

Gray/Vereen chance of re-emerging: Significant, but not likely

I cant see how starting Blount over Herron makes sense given the above. Of course it might merely a 60/40 chance that Herron gets more touches than Blount (this is not easy choice), but Herron seems like he has the higher floor and ceiling. Both over/unders are right around 50.

At least he got a TD, the Hoody strikes again. Gray did run well, as usual this backfield is a mess.
