Tuck v. Kiwanuka (1 Viewer)

There has been a little debate on these two young guys, but when Osi went out in week one it was Kiwi who came in the game. What means this? Is Kiwi strictly Osi's backup? Or if Strahan had had cramps would Tuck have come in? I know they are listed as LDE and RDE but when Strahan was out two years ago Osi came in and played LDE. So, did the Giants get the best player(In their opinion) on the field, or did they go with simply the injured guy's backup?

The depth chart has Kiwi backing up Osi and Tuck behind Strahan. Does it mean Tuck plays ahead of Kiwi on the left and visa versa on the right? Not sure. Tuck will be playing DT on 3rd and long this weekend. Kiwi will spell Osi some. Tuck will spell Strahan some. I think they are so even that neither switches sides to move ahead of the other in case of an inured starter.

Imo, Tuck is the superior athlete, faster, stronger, quicker, more explosive. Kiwi is the more prototypical DE, and he isn't exactly slow or lacking explosiveness. Too close to call.

Thanks for clearing it up, buddy. :loco: ;)

Giants have been pretty consistent with keeping Kiwi at RDE and Tuck on the left side. If you're a Tuck owner I wouldn't panic simply because Kiwi, not Tuck got the PT last week. It was simply a result of him being Osi's primary backup.

Giants | Tuck to miss practice Wednesday

Wed, 25 Oct 2006 11:27:09 -0700

New York Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said in a press conference Wednesday, Oct. 25, DL Justin Tuck (foot) will not practice Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Any thought on if Tuck gets healthy who gets the most playing time?

I drafted Tuck last year and held him into this season but ended up dumping him for Marques Douglas after I lost Kearse because I needed a DE who at least played. I think Tuck has loads of potential but is stuck behind a veritable Iron Man in Strahan at DE.
