Considering that the Winter Solstice is considered the middle of Winter, but actually is the day of least light (at least in North America / Northern Hemisphere) and it gets better from that day on, I think that the only appropriate name would be:

The only thing that offsets this most boring time of the year is the season turning from spring to summer, and being up to my ears in yard work. I hate it, but it sure takes my mind off of being bored out of my mind due to lack of football. Oh and usually the Red Wings are deep in the playoffs so that's something to keep me busy too.
