Apologies if :honda...

Who are your must-follows on Twitter? Ideally I'd like guys who keep their mouth shut except for the news that really matters as far as adding/dropping players. Similar to the breaking news emails from FBG but I'd like to supplement that with slightly more info and slightly faster.

I don't know how people follow Adam Schefter. Maybe I'm just not a big enough NFL fan, but about 5% of his tweets look even remotely interesting/relevant.

No one. Twitter is dumb. :)
Totally. I dont get it, and i dont wanna get it.
As much as I want to agree, I actually signed up for twitter a few weeks ago. Although generally I hate myself for it, the speed/brevity of NFL news is unmatched. Even just following a few people, you will have updates on injuries/trades/reports pretty much as they happen. Major websites can take hours or even days to update some of this information. For some this time delay may not matter, but in a competitive league this can make all the difference.Side note: I actually hate twitter/facebook/myspace and all that other crap, but I recognize its usefulness, especially when it comes to FF news, where time is of the essence.

I don't want to sound like I'm attacking the previous posters but ANYTIME you dismiss an entire medium you're probably being pretty foolish. There's nothing inherently wrong with Twitter, and as GZWI pointed out there are actually some really nice advantages to it. It really is unmatched in terms of putting important news in front of your face as quickly as you want it and in a digestible form. It's also a nice alternative to email because it holds all the info in one place for you but it doesn't have to push it to you (unless you want it to), you can go retrieve it at your leisure.

The entire NFL community is there. beat writers, players, agents, national media guys, former scouts and players, even a head coach or two. The news is instant, and the discussions are non-stop. Ever read a beat writer article about an RB injury and think "I wonder what the team thinks of that practice squad RB, is there a chance he could play a role if it is serious?" On Twitter, you can just ask the beat writer and usually get an answer. Dismiss it at your own risk.

Just an fyi: there is a fake account for Adam, but back to the question, Adam @AdamSchefter actually is one to follow because he breaks news first (inside access so to speak) and or Mr. Glazer @Jay_Glazer (9 times out of 10, one of these guys is first to break a story)Now you may hear some tidbit from a beat reporter, but odds are it will be vague to some degree or tainted (personal view) btw @AlbertBreer could be approaching the 1st to brk status (imo)I would think that the best advice would be to find one of the FBG guys and check out their lists and select follow ie. heres a list from @GregABedard (guy who any NE fan should follow) http://twitter.com/#!/PFWAwriters/all-pfwa-members (if you follow Bedard, probably want to follow @Rapsheet)

Basically what that does is, it allows you to have your standard Twitter (people who you want to correspond with at anytime) and you can also select lists (which in this ex. would only provide tweets from pro football writers)

If you catch me on Twitter, I can probably hook you up with a few to follow for specifics like GB or perhaps MN (me n my better half's fav teams) and or other Fantasy guys like yourself (Coach Otis is now on Twitter @Hawkscreech)

I would caution that Twitter can bend some facts, which really shows how useful the Shark Pool can be. An ex. would be Kendricks (all about some hype) and quite frankly most likely true (esp first game, Im thinkin) but I havnt heard much on the TE in MN. The Coach in MN played against guys like Coffman (GB)so it may not happen this yr (although Visanthe Shiancoe 31 was hurt I belive) but has 1 yr left on contract. Rudolph 6'6" 260pd Beast could make some noise..

p.s. Bedard used to write @ GB. Also on Fridays, alot of people will make tweets like #FF (follow Friday) and plug guys/gals that they recommend to follow on Twitter. ex. #FF @JeffHaseley "FBG Staff" If you dont know to follow Jeff, I probably cant explain why too!

Post got too long here, LOL I almost want to cancel because it takes so long to proof-read (think I made point, Twitter its a tool & fun too)

Steelers beat writer must follows:

@ScottBrown_Trib (Tribune Review)

@MarkKaboly_Trib (Tribune Review)

@EdBouchette (Post-Gazette)

@gerrydulac (Post-Gazette)

Other good Steelers info follows (radio personalities, bloggers or columnists)

@Steelersdepot (Most Dedicated Basement blogger ever)

@DVEmike (Mike Pruista radio personality that covers team)

@CBSSportsNFLPIT (lots of stories on here collected from variety of sources)

There's some others for Steelers (and other PGH sports) if anyone is interested but those are the main ones who I follow

Twitter is better then Google for me. Great resource for up to the minute news, figured we should reopen this since the season has started and Twitter and the NFL are best friends these days. Thanks in advance for everyones lists and recommendations.
