Cecil and Sig - as always thanks for a fantastic show.

So it's the last week of waiver wire pickups and I am out of the playoffs, so am trying to make the most of the last waiver wire pickups. I am in a 16 team non-ppr dynasty league.

How would you rank these guys in order of waiver preference (or to make it easier, just the top 5-7 guys) thinking long term or for production next season?

Bruce Gradkowski

Ben GreenEllis

Kahlil Bell

I missed out on a bye week this week because I lost by a dozen pts last week.

The two major culprits are Palmer at QB and Olsen at TE (who has done very little the last month or so). Please give me your view on these two guys.

I have Alex Smith on the bench who I am happy to plug in. Also, I can go out on waivers and pick up Jermicheal Finely.

Please advise.

Cecil can we get a Dr Roxo cameo? I belive the last one came in the final moments of the 24 hr marathon.

Gentlemen,

I'm looking at starting DJax, but I'm not sure about his form after the brain whack

a couple of weeks ago. I currently have questions about him in 2 leagues, both standard scoring no-PPR.

In one league I need to choose between DeSean and Kenny Britt,

the other league I'm looking at going with 2 of the following 3....DeSean, Wes Welker and Miles Austin.

With Welker and Miles on fire, and Britt going against the Rams,

my original lean is to leave DeSean on the bench in both leagues.

DOCTOR ROCKZO HAS BEEN BLACKBALLED !

thanks.

Hmmm...it's coming down to it. Definitely need some wins this week.

1. Non PPR TD heavy league, I need to field 1RB, 2WR + FLEX and I'm looking at Moreno, Megatron, Harvin and Wells. I also have Jennings, who made a killer showing again Chicago the last time they played. If you were to play him, who would you pull? Wells has had 12+ touches in 6 of the last 8 games and the SF defense is soft. Megatron looked great last week, but the Ravens can be solid. Thoughts?

2. PPR TD heavy league, I have a cast of mediocre receivers, and really need to win so probably need at least on "swing for the fences" play. Of Jennings, Chambers, Avery and Louis Murphy. The logical bet would lean toward the big play in Jennings, and the middle-of-the-road reliability in Avery, but if Murphy is coming on...thoughts?

3. Very important question, let's settle it, is Die Hard a Christmas movie? I say yes.

Thanks guys.

thanks for the advice last week and i enjoyed your little Harpua/PosterNutBag rant during that show...haha

Start 1: Brett Favre vs CIN or Alex Smith vs ARZ (on MNF)

Start 1: Carolina's Steve Smith vs NE or Greg Jennings @ CHI (extra info for you other than the obvious things to look at --- week 1: Jennings had 6/106/1 when the Bears visited GB)

I am leaning towards Steve Smith again, but his comments from earlier in the week are a little disheartening:

Panthers WR Steve Smith didn’t talk to reporters here Wednesday, and tried to be polite when he was on a conference call with New England-area reporters.

Asked how he would analyze the Panthers passing game this year, Smith said: “I don’t know. If I say what I really want to say, I’ll probably get in trouble. I’ll just be honest.”

Smith has just 49 catches for 682 yards and four touchdowns this season, making it his most miserable year since he became a full-time offensive player.

So even though the Patriots secondary has struggled (Miami threw 53 times last week to beat them), Smith wasn’t taking that as a sign things were turning around for him.

“Um, not even close. Nope,” he replied when asked if he saw the opportunity for a big game. Asked why not, Smith said: “I just don’t think that will happen here.”

“Professionally, this is probably a down year for me,” he said. “Personally, I’ve learned a lot of things and steady learning every day. So you have … I hate that cliché, ‘You learn something every year.’ But it’s true. Honestly, there are moments where I do get discouraged and frustrated, but then there are moments where I go back and I think, ‘Oh, I did this and that.’ So that’s kind of how I treat it.

“It’s not too hard for me to say we are a running team first. That’s what we try to be. That’s what we are. We have two good running backs — three, four good running backs — and that’s what we do. But at the end of the day, run first or whatever you want to do, when we really need a big play downfield, in a hurry, they have to go to 89. So I don’t worry about it too much. I just keep coming back for some reason.”
Thanks!

1.) With the Week 14 bye, I get to look ahead to Week 15 and 16...

Who would you go with at QB in Week 15?

Palmer vs. Chargers

Garrard vs. Colts

Campbell vs. Giants

Fitzpatrick vs. Patriots

Henne vs. Titans

Orton vs. Raiders

Who would you go with at QB in Week 16?

Palmer vs. Chiefs

Garrard vs. Patriots

Campbell vs. Cowboys

Fitzpatrick vs. Falcons

Henne vs. Texans

Orton vs. Eagles

2.) Is Julius Jones, my RB4, worth dropping for Moats or Ganther?

[Pittsburghese]"Sig...Cec....luv th' show. First time cahhwer, long time lissner. Thanks for takin' mah call."[/Pittsburghese]

Just a few more miles to go here in my main league(playoff life is at stake this week), so I figured I'd fire this past yiinz two yahoos. Let's "gittit ohn":

All reports say that Matt Schaub's going to be giving it a go this week with a brace on his jacked up wing. His matchup is pretty tasty, one would think that Kubiak would scrap the "HB pass in the RZ" from the playbook after last week's abbortion, and with no Slaton one would assume that means we will probably see an abundance of throwing. So, it'd appear Matt's a must start in a "Win and you're in" kinda game. Buuuuuut.....

What are the odds he takes a whack on the shoulder and is sat for a large chunk of the game? 50/50? Greater? Less?

Bottom line: Would you roll with Schaub, cross your fingers and pray or would you totally go with matchups and insert whatever backup you may have who draws a cream puff and who isn't wearing a brace on his non-throwing shoulder? Is it nuts to consider Fitzpatrick vs. KC over Schaub in a "must win" contest? Full disclosure: I think it is. Confirm or deny, please.

Many thanks.

What's up guys?

Some ugly, ugly choices this week, but just remember I'm in the playoffs! (I got the girl to come back to my room, there's no need to turn on the light!) Here's the thing:

1- RB2 has been a revolving door of warm bodies this year, and now that the waiver wire is over, I'm left with the following choice in a PPR league: Correll Buckhalter vs. Jason Snelling vs. Derrick Ward... obviously I'm watching the Turner news; by the way, what is up with Ward? Does he just suck now?

2- At TE, I've got Shockey and Scheffler and I've managed to guess right so far.. but this decision is starting to feel like that revolver roulette scene from The Deer Hunter... please help! Any reason to start one over the other, or just pull the trigger?

3- And now for the BIG defensive choice: Miami or San Diego? Points-against does matter so I'm leaning slightly towards MIA

"WHAT-ARE-YOU-GONNA-DO-WITH-YOUR-LIFE?"

"I WANNA ROCK!"

In one of the recap shows Bloom noted how the statistics don't lie on the vaunted Green Bay defense.

I'm curious to get your take on whose defense is overrated and whose defense is underrated.

When I'm setting my line-up during the playoffs, which top-ranked teams should I not worry about so much (like maybe the Steelers)? Which low-ranked teams should give me pause?

Edited to add: Or is it pretty much Dennis Green from here on out (i.e. they are who we think they are are.)

Need 1 for this week, non ppr. P. Thomas, L. Maroney or F. Jackson?

Also need a QB behind Schaub for the playoff fun. Henne, Freeman, or Fitzpatrick?

Thanks for the help. Great show guys.

Gahh! I just found out today that fumble recovery and TD that I had been given to my Saints DT/ST last week were taken away. So, instead of winning and getting the first round bye, I found out that I have now LOST in Week 13 (by 1 pt.). This means that I'm now the 4th seed and have to play this week. Good thing I checked.

Anyway, with Schaub's injury, which of these two QBs should I stash as a "just in case" strategy: Alex Smith or Vince Young?

And which WR will be better for this week: Steve Smith (NYG), Steve Smith (CAR), or a waiver wire pickup (Avery, Maclin, or Devery Henderson)?

Thanks. I'm still in shock that I have to actually consider what is going on this weekend. I hope Mendenhall really goes off tonight (or IS going off by the team you get to my questions).

You guys are CRAZY with the number of podcasts you do. of course my wife feels the same way about my listenening to them so keep them coming. Well I made it limping into the playoffs in a 16 team PPR league and would like your thoughts on which of these WR would you start and who do you think has the highest upside.

Great job as always gentlemen. I need some playoff love as I am going against a pretty good team that has Peyton, Fitz and AJ. I have to start 2 out of these 5: LT, C-Buck, Snelling, J Stewart (already starting DW) and Burleson in a PPR league that gives .5 ppr to RBs, 1 ppr to WRs and 1.5 to TEs. Also I need to start one TE: Scheffler or Thor or try to pick up Jacksonville's Zach Miller.

Currently have C-Buck, Burleson and Scheffler in.Good luck to you both and may the force be with you! (My first Star Wars cliche shows how desperate I am!)

Looking for a maximum upside flex play out of Kevin Walter, Lee Evans, Dev Henderson, Chris Brown, Snelling and J. Finley. Leaning towards Walter, in hopes that he goes all Drew Bennett.

What is up with tonight's run distribution in Cleveland? Picked up Harrison for the sweet matchups in 15/16, but tonight's results are going to make me really wary in starting him.
