Two Hours of Live Audible Tonight 8/13 10 pm Eastern (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys!

Which three WRs do you keep out of these five (1/2 PPR):

Reggie Wayne, Chad Ochocinco, Eddie Royal, DeSean Jackson, or Anthony Gonzalez.

Also, I have another own in this keeper league who owns both Witten and Olsen. I'd like to try to deal one or a combination of these receivers for one of those TEs. He has Roddy White but needs a solid #2 WR. What kind of offer do you recommend and how would that affect who you would keep?

Also, could you talk a little bit about the Jets RB situation this year (3 backs by committee?, rookie QB, Jet o-line, schedule). I drafted Thomas Jones as a #2 RB in a startup Dynasty league in the 6th round, and I am worried it might've been a bad decision with Washington getting his touches and Greene looking good in camp.

Thanks for all the great info I get out your podcasts.

What do you guys think the loss of Donnie Avery will have on the Rams and Steven Jacksons production in particular.

Can't wait until the marathon show!!

Do you think Michael Bush will eventually crack the starting line-up in Oakland this year?

You guys rock. Nuff said.

My league added a 0.5PPR over the summer and it is my first time in a PRR league. Start 2 RB and 3 WR. We are able to keep 4 players. I know you guys have advocated getting WRs early, particularly in PPR. I plan on keeping MJD, Fitz and Calvin Johnson. I was also planning on keeping LT. But I have started to wonder if a better strategy would be to try to move LT for a stud WR? I am trying to work the Andre Johnson owner. I have received an offer for Steve Smith.

My question is twofold - 1. Would it be better to try to lock up 3 stud WRs instead of 2 stud RBs and 2 stud WRs? 2. If so, who is it worth moving LT for? Or put another way, who would be the "worst" WR I should make a deal for?

Thanks.

Everybody is high on Ray Rice, but I am worried about W16 match vs PITT D (bearing in mind I plan to be in the CHAMPIONSHIP!!!). Would you not rather have Cedric Benson which I feel is a safer pick as RB3?

Gentlemen!

I will add to the weekly chorus of appreciation for all that you bring to FBG, especially The Audible -- it's fantastic. Having a subscription (shameless plug) is expanding my football knowledge and enjoyment (fantasy and otherwise) geometrically.

Two things this evening, please:

1. Would you please expound for a bit on The Art of the FF Trade.

2. There are a few well-documented cases in the NFL where the TE is the de-facto #2 receiver (Witten, Clark, Keller, Carlson, etc.). With the TE pool deepening, what are the teams that are most likely to join that group of franchises where the best player to own after the #1 WR is the TE?

Thanks much,

Michael (FBG: The Riv)

Props to you guys for having great on-air chemistry which makes for a good listenable show. That's something even professional broadcast teams seem to struggle with and you guys really have it down. :X If I may offer one suggestion to help expand your listening base, I wish most of your program - at least the early part - dealt with fantasy topics that would apply to a broader audience (i.e. the pros and cons of different draft strategies, undervalued/overvalued players, different league structures and how they impact drafts, etc.) rather than more specific questions that most of your audience may not have a vested interest in (i.e. which one of the following three players should I keep). Thanks for the time you guys put into your broadcast. Your efforts, and especially your finished product, are genuinely appreciated.

I asked this in the forum but wanted to get your thoughts as well.

Where do you guys see Jerious Norwood's ceiling. Of course, I'm not talking about this year. I'm more interested in a few years from now after his contract with ATL is up. Does he have what it takes to be a starter or will he be a career backup?

Hey guys,

Great job with the Audible, keep it up! You guys are helping my transition back to work (I'm a teacher) go much more smoothly.

I am in a 12 team PPR keeper league with the 12th pick this season and desperately attempting to trade up in my draft. I'm a disgruntled Broncos fan trying to unload Jay Cutler (don't think he'll be nearly as good in Chicago anyway) as well possibly trading Brian Grant, Mendenhall, or Derrick Ward....possibly even Brandon Marshall or Tony Gonzalez if I have to. How would you guys rank the following players who are available in our draft this year?

Drew Brees

Larry Fitzgerald

Andre Johnson

Steven Jackson

Carson Palmer

Roy Williams

T.J. Houshmandzadeh

Knowshon Moreno

Chris Wells

Donald Brown

Roy Williams

Thanks!

Dear Los Reyes de la Fantasía de Fútbol,

Im in a 16 team dynasty PPR IDP league. return tds.

Just traded

Jonathan Stewart

Patrick Crayton

Rey Maualaga

2010 2nd rookie pick

for:

Brandon Jacobs

Desean Jackson

David Harris

My RBs are now DeAngelo Williams, Brandon Jacobs, Lesean McCoy,Tim Hightower, Ahmad Bradshaw, Danny Ware

We only start 2 rbs and i have an a couple guys im considering dealing for some better WRs.

Who are the best players to keep and is anyone hyping up, that i could sell high on?

Thanks

Hey Guys,

First question involves the Colts: I know you like Donald Brown as a talent (so do I), but how much upside can he really have with the Oline weaker than in past years? Also, with Bob Sanders' balky knee anticipated to keep him out of the lineup I see the Colt's struggling in time of possession making them even more of a passing team (and that's one aspect of the game where Addai has been OK). For where you have to take him in PPR redrafts (6th to 8th rounds) do you feel there's enough value in him to warrant passing on a Derrick Mason or Laverneus Coles as a flex? Seems like that's the decision I'm seeing in early drafts.

Thanks

ps- MATT JONES!

Hey Cecil and Sig! TGIT!!!!

In the middle to late rounds I look for explodability (ok its a made up word) but it represents something I hear you and Sig talk about often, a guy's ability to be a season changer off the bench, a guy with huge upside if things break right. There seems to be a solid group of talented backup rbs heading into 09, that given the opportunity could explode on the field and put up some serious numbers.

In both a non-ppr and ppr league, which of these backup rbs has the best chance of mirroring the stud in front of them and becoming a top 5 back should that starter in front of them go down considering their talent level, skills, surrounding compliment of players, etc. My list does not consider anyone in a 3 rbbc, I am looking strictly at guys who have a main RB and are the clear backup and would expect to get the bulk of the carries in an injury situation.

Kevin Jones

Darren Sproles

LeSean McCoy

Chester Taylor

Ladell Betts

Ahmed Bradshaw

Johnathan Stewart (assuming he can stay healthy himself)

thanks guys, love the show

Oh mighty masters of all fantasies ... I've joined a couple of IDP leagues this year, and they have added a lot to my ff experience. I've read and listened and learned a lot from your site and podcasts. One thing that has eluded me is equivalency of offensive and defensive players in a trade. I don't want to offer too much and look the fool, nor offer so little that the guy will never consider trading w/ me again. So could you go through and give me some general guidlines for trading in a deep ppr dynasty league:

LB1 for RB, WR

LB 2 for RB, WR

DL 1 for RB, WR or LB

DB1 for RB, WR, LB, DL

thanks for your insights

time to sit back and enjoy some JB old #7

Awesome guys - just awesome.

I've heard two sides coming from Pats camp - one is Galloway is looking great and is poised for a "breakout" season...and the other is he's slowing and not gaining much trust from Brady

Either way, how does he effect Moss?

Thanks

Great show as always guys, too bad to hear about Les Paul today though

Next week Sunday is my Yahoo League money draft with Frd Mcgriff as one of my leaguemates, and I need help on what to empasize would be an important way to draft or strategize. I will not know my pick until I get there, and the rosters are really screwing with my head.

We start 1 qb, 1rb, 2 wr, and one flex whcih can be either a qb,rb, or wr, or te. plus we also start a k, te, and defense. The issue I have is the Qb's only get 4 pts per passing td, and 1 point per 25yrds passing and all other positions get 6 pts per td and 1 pt per 10 yrds rec or rushing non ppr. So saying that would you target more Wr's since I can start 3 and only lock down one rb early and then draft for value later like a Mcfadden or Johnathan Stewart Type later. My FBG rankings though say I should take a QB earlier than normal but with the 4 points versus 6 I would think a WR heavy approach would be smarter and then go with a Shaub or Mcnabb in later rounds.

Thanks

Do either of you see Stephen Cooper or Lawrence Timmons as having LB1 upside in a 16 team league?

Also, can you please discuss how you see the Floyd/Davis/Naane battle for the Chargers WR3 spot unfolding.

Thanks as always!

FootballGuys.com rocks and my subscription last year helped me win the championship, thanks fellas!

I'm in a 10 team auction keeper league with a $200 cap. We are allowed to keep 3 players each year but each player can only be kept a max of two times.

The league starts 2 QBs, 2 RBs, and a RB/WR Flex and has standard non-PPR scoring. Taking into account the start 2 QB aspect of the league which 3 players do you think I should keep?

Michael Turner - $17

Chris Johnson - $6

Aaron Rodgers - $22

Philip Rivers - $19

In a start 1 QB league I'd keep the 2 RBs and pick between Rivers and Rodgers, but when starting 2 QBs I'm not sure that is the right strategy. In addition, I can keep any of the listed players expect than Turner again for the 2010 season as well but Turners contract expires after this season.

Thanks!

-J

Hey guys, first year listening to the podcast....love it!!

I'm keeping Turner for a 4th rounder, Grant for a 6th, & Warner for an 8th.

.5PPR. Start 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/WR

Defending champ having a hard time deciding what to do at the turn w/ 1.12 and 2.1 picks. Do I grab 2 of the Big 8 WRs? Possibly 2 of the big 4? Or grab 1 WR and Portis or Gore. and a WR like Ocho Cinco or Vincent Jackson in the 3rd? Love Portis' early schedule and the RB depth he gives me for byes or injuries.

Thanks guys.

Hey guys,

I am competing in my first ever 24 team league this season. Have you ever competed in one and if so, can you suggest some strategy for the draft with such a thin player pool at your disposal? For example, should you go with BPA more often?

The league scoring system is 6 pts for all TDs (passing, rushing, receiving) and PPR rules apply.

Also, with the recent injury to Steve Smith, Dwayne Jarrett is set to get first team reps in practice and during preseason games. Reports out of camp are overwhelmingly positive about the third year wideout. How do you think he will do this year?

Thanks fellas and keep up the good work!

I just got done with an early draft in my keeper league, and was able to nab Derrick Mason as a 4th wr.

My question is, why are so many guys down on Derrick Mason?

The average projections for Mason from the FBGs is: 60 catches, 733 yds. (Jason Wood has the highest projections with 71 catches and 920 yds)

Dating back to 2000, he has only had two seasons with under 70 catches, two seasons with under 80 catches, and 5 seasons with 80+ catches. Why after a 80 catch, 1000 yd season, is he getting such low projections? A guy like Cotchery is expected to do the same as last year (71 catches, 858 yds in '08, avg FBG projections are 75 catches 934 yards) while having to deal with a new head coach and a rookie qb. But Mason is coming back to the same situation as last year, but is being projected to have a 25% loss in production?

Hi Guys,

curious what you guys think of Breaston dynasty wise. Does he have mid to late first round rookie draft value? How much would his value go up if Boldin leaves next year?

Thanks!

A few questions:

1) Any word on how Bernard Scott has looked in camp? Any chance he can make an impact this year? (I was hoping to see a little on him during Hard Knocks)

2) Burnett is a guy I've had my eye on in the offseason - has the talent and seems like he could have been in a pretty good 3 down role. Now, it sounds like Dobbins is beating him out. How do you think this will play out? Will Burnett win the role, or will neither guy really have significant value as a 2 down or nickel LB?

3) It sounds like Josh Johnson is the odd man out in TB. Could this be good for him? THoughts on him catching on somewhere?

Hey guys,

Have a question about Rbs in ppr leagues. How much do you devalue RBs who don't catch a lot of balls?

I'm mainly talking about Michael Turner, Brandon Jacobs, and Deangelo Williams.

I feel pretty comfortable about talking Turner in the first, Williams in the 2nd, and Jacobs in the 3rd......even if this is PPR. I seem to be getting a lot of crap from the so called "nationally ranked players" in wcoff mock drafts, because none of these guys catch balls. I just think im getting great RB value, what's your take on these guys in PPR leagues?

Jon Miller from Detroit, MI

I'm in a pretty standard league with two interesting wrinkles. 1) Passing TDs are worth 6 pts, but we takeaway 3 pts for fumbles and interceptions. 2) We start 2 RB 2 WR and 1 RB/WR flex.

I'm at the #8 spot and I'm thinking of going RB QB RB WR TE thinking that I need an absolute stud at QB and 2 RBs in the first 3 rounds because of the FLEX. What do you think?

Thanks!

Love the show!!!!disregaurd the signature line!!!!!!!

Couple of things before the games get started tonight.

1. Brandon Marshall - I am an attorney and it doesn't sound good what's going on. Let's say he is found guilty...what does this possibly mean in the reign of the Commish....is he facing further dicipline?? What would that mean for Denver and the rookie RB stud? I mean come on...there are only so many studs you can remove from a situation before it meaning the team is going to take a hit. Do you think this could be a reason for the "injury" he is suffering from ie a way to get him away from the team and still handle his legal situation?

2. I am in a new auction league: starters: 1 qb, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1TE, 1flex (rb, wr, te) 1 D/ST, 1K normal scoring except PPR = .5 per reception (for all positions) and qb passing td = 6pts. In this line up shoud I be bucking the WR/WR/WR or WR/WR/RB situation you guys have been advocating?? obviously what I take is a little different with an auction draft but using the above and equating them to importance/value is what I am refering to. Also most owners are rookies to the auction draft and are most likely simply relying upon non auction draft resources...no...I have not turned them on to you guys or footballguys....got to keep some advantage right??

ok one more...

3. Is Brady worth 50 in a 180 league ( or what is the max bid for brady in this league).

ok...one more...I have heard you guys all about K.Moreno (spelling) but should he be a #3?

Hey guys,

I am in a non-PPR auction league that favors yardage pretty heavily. I'm thinking of spending 35-40% of my cap on two stud starting WR, then another 40-ish% on mid-range RB that would carry most of the load for their team, like Slaton and Jacobs. Followed by a bargain QB like Shaub or Hasselbeck. Does that seem like a viable strategy? Most years, bids get way out of hand for the top RB's (AP went for 43% of the cap last year), and outside a couple, there aren't really that seem to provide dollar/point value.

Love to hear your thoughts on that strategy, and who specifically you would target in that scenario. Great thing about auctions, is if you want soeone, you can get him.

Take it easy,

Hey guys,

Don't get me wrong, I love your show so I don't mean for this to sound too critical but...

Last year one of the players you guys were really pumping up was Zach Miller. You LOVED him, had him in every league you were in. So, I grabbed him in both leagues I play. and you know what. He sucked. 3 weeks of nothing to open the season, one decent week and then nothing followed by more nothing.

So, what I'm asking you guys to do now, is to search your souls and be really honest with yourselves and tell me who you just might have over-hyped this year.

Thx, and yes I really do love your show

Love the talk.

I'm in a 12 team PPR, Start 1-QB, 1-RB, 2-WR, 1-K, 1-DEF, and two Flex (RB,WR,TE). Other scoring is standard. I have the third overall pick and plan to grab WRs in rounds two and three and maybe even round four. We're talking two of the following: SSmith/DBowe/GJennings/Colston/Welker/Boldin/RWhite. The fourth or fifth round shouts RB to me, someone's gotta be there of some value. Here's the thing, most would suggest I take Forte or SJax with the third pick, rght. I'm not most. So please discuss the pros and cons of who I plan to take as of Early August. Randy Moss. My gut tells me he's gonna be HUGE again. I only need to start one RB which is doable with my 4th or 5th pick or trying to wait even further if I have to and try a drafting many RBs at picks 6-8 sith one of them likely hitting. RBs get hurt more than WRs. Drafts are never won in the first three rounds, but they can be lost there. I feel drafting three solid WRs with my first three picks is safer.

-Thanks much,

-Your Hero

ps. I'll probably draft Moss no matter what, just wanna hear you tell me not too.

Hey guys, love the show! Long time listener, first time poster.

I have a two part question for you. I'm in a 10 team league, 16 round serpentine draft, PPR and all TD's count as 6 points. We get to keep 1 player each year and loose the round they were drafted in. I've been keeping Gore as a 5th round pick for a few years now, but the last few seasons he's left me down in the playoffs so I'm a bit gun shy with him now. So I can keep:

Fitz (rd1)

Colston (rd2)

Gore (rd5)

Aaron Rodgers (rd6)

D. Bowe (rd8)

Ray Rice (rd10)

DeSean Jackson (rd12)

Kurt Warner (rd14) - waiver pick up

Antonio Bryant (rd16) - waiver pck up

Now, the problem with keeping Fitz is since 1'd loose my forst round pick and ten other players are being kept I essentially give up the first 2 rounds for him. The other guys keepers are : Turner, LT, Forte, Brady, Roy Williams, Peterson, Roddy White, Chris Johnson, and Randy Moss. AND NONE of them are going to count as first round picks because of where they were origonally drafted over the years. So, do I keep Gore again or change things up this year?

The second part of the question is that we just added reurn yardage to the DEF/Special teams scoring. I used to wait until the last round for my defence, what kind of effect should this new rule have on my drafting strategy?

Thanks!

Hey guys as always love the show and want a little info:

dynasty PPR league a final WR spot goes to Jason Hill, Jerome Simpson, Justin Harper, Kenny McKinley?

already have Fitz, Bowe, Cotchery, Bennett, Nicks, Maclin and can start up to 3

THanks guys! Way to keep me entertained when I am working with the pod casts!

Your show is fantastic. My commute would not be the same without you guys and the podcasts you provide.

First some league info:

My league awards 2 points for each rushing or receiving yard, 2 points per reception and 60 points per TD. Teams start a QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, Flex (WR/RB), TE, K, DST. I have to keep one franchise player who will be MJD and then I have the option to keep 2 others. I will also keep De'Angelo Williams and Brees. This will give me 3 keepers and once all teams have 3 players amongst franchise players, keepers or drafting in their set position, the whole league starts drafting in serpentine format in what would be round 3 (all franchise players do not count as a round so the second player teams take is essentially round 1).

So, my question:

I also have Marshawn Lynch and would really like to trade him for a draft pick. With my keepers, I need to take WRs and would like to grab a good one as I have the 12th pick in a 12-team league. So, what is fair value for Lynch? Also, who are good WRs to target in this scoring format considering that each team can keep up to 3 players and the studs will probably be long gone by the time I draft.

don't know if you have your answer already...but I feel ya about Moss. I would say if you have the chance later in the 12 team to grab him then do it and don't lose any sleep. I think he is going to be HUGE this year and be the #1wr. still a lot of depth for rb afterwards. Just make sure that you are not left holding the bag with a qb as I see a lot of people in my leagues rushing for qb's and even backups before I thought they would go. Lots of depth at rb this year given the rbbc situations...hope this is what the jedis think about this.

this guy is bush'esc...the thing the everyone is forgetting (even with bush) is that these guys cant carry the load...teams have to create options for them...equals flash in the pan if they are with a solid rb in place.
