Wow! #26 is amazing, congrats Sig. Testament to the amazing dedication you and Cecil have to your craft.

Feel better, Cec. ;)

I don't want to scare you, but having Jene come on to the audible is giving me some Wally Pipp flashbacks. Any time Jene talks or writes gets the must-follow stamp from me.

I'd like your reactions to the chances of these 3 guys chances at both a starting role and meaningful fantasy contributions this year.

Thanks as always

I am in a 12-team auction league that has scoring heavily favored towards yardage. It is a non-PPR league that starts 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1TE, 1K and a team defense. The top running backs will most likely go for around 40% of the cap each, while the top wide receivers will probably go for 20-25% of the cap. In this scenario, would going after two stud WR be the way to go? The two WR could get close to 2,700 combined yards for the same price as AP 1,700 yards, and still have money left for two solid mid-tier running backs. Who would be the people that you would target in an auction draft like this?

BTW, Apple sent out a podcst focus email on fantasy football. Hope that keeps pushing your great work up the charts.

Congrats on moving up to #26 at iTunes!

Could you discuss the fantasy impact of Royal and Marshall if Orton continues to play badly and is replaced by Sims in Denver? And what do you think about the rumors of Marshall seeing a possible suspension for conduct detrimental to the team?

Also, what happens to Shianco's and the WR's fantasy values in Minnesota with Favre behind center?

Thanks for all that you guys do!

Which of these RBs, if given the chance, have the talent to be 40+ catch/year RBs, ala Westbrook, Leon Washington, etc.?

It doesn't have to be immediate, ie, I am thinking for keeper and dynasty purposes.

Please add comments if you have some info.

Thanks!

2 things I'd like to hear about

1) Ray Rice, does he look to be RB1 in Baltimore now? How much can McGahee and other RBs steal from him?

2) I expect to pick from LT, Slaton, DeAngelo and Chris Johnson in rd 1. Take one of them, if so who? If not, is Fitzgerald a better option? PPR, I draft 8th.

thanks, congrats, looking forward to hearing some good info.

What's going on guys?

I gotta question about drafting at 12 and going WR-WR: In a 12 Team standard scoring PPR league all tds 6 points.Start 1QB,2RB,2WR,1TE,and RB/WR Flex Which running backs would have to fall down to the 12 spot for you guys to go away from a Fitz/Moss combo or a Andre/Calvin combo or vise versa

If you have time one more question on Jermichael Finley, What do you guys think is his ceiling this year?

Thanks fellas

Love the show guys.

I would like two questions answered.

1. Has anyone looked this week at Matt Jones for a possible pick up? Not that i care but I love the Dr Roxo sound bite.

2. I am in a 12 team, no keeper league. We get six points for all rushing, receiving AND passing TD's. .5 point per reception and 1pt for every 25 yds rushing, receiving and 1 pt for every 50 yds passing with bonus' for all 100,200 and 300 yrd performences.

I have the number 3 pick and with the scoring system set up in my league that favors QB's (8 out of the top 10 point scorers last year were QB's) would it be wise to go out and grab a Brady or Brees with this pick or take my chances that an Aaron Rodgers or Manning fall to 2:10 and pick up an MJD or S Jax? With the talent level of 2nd tier Rb's that are going in 3rd and 4th rounds can I trust that the talent in these rounds would be servicable enough to take a risk with a high QB selection. I know this goes againt all conventional wisdom and against my draft strategy from previous years. I'm also not opposed to drafting a Fitzgerald at this position since the top 6-8 WR's will be off the board by my pick.

Thank you.

Fellas,

Congrats on the 26th spot on itunes! I've been downloading since day 1. Here's to continued success. You deserve it!

My question:

Drafting 3rd in a ppr redraft. Assuming ADP & MJD are gone, who should go next? I always see either Turner or Forte go next, but I'm not sold on either of them. We've seen their ceilings and at least a slight regression is in order due an impending reduction in touches for both. I am seriously mulling around the possibility of taking SJax there, he has the ability if healthy (a big if) to be the number one back. What about taking a WR that early? Is the prospect of taking Jackson or Fitz at 3 just crazy or shrewd?

Thanks for all you guys do! Gonna miss Cecil on this show. Get well brotha.

Great to be back in the Shark Pool for another season, and really excited to have Jene here with you as my question is IDP related.

I'm in a VERY unconventional league and would like to bounce some draft strategy ideas off you. The league is 12 teams, PPR, IDP and has the following roster positions:

Offense/Team: QB, QB, WR, WR, WR, RB, TE, W/R, K, DEF (Note the 2 QB and 3 WR slots)

IDP: LB, LB, LB, LB, DT, DT, DE, DE, S, S, CB, CB

Scoring is also unconventional, but to summarize the salient points here:

Passing and Receiving TDs are worth 125% the value of Rushing TDs

PPR and Bonuses for yardage plateaus

Each IDP tackle is worth 50% of a Passing TD (i.e. two tackles = 1 passing TD)

Each IDP sack is equal to a Passing TD

That said, I'm planning on a draft strategy that heavily focuses on WRs and QBs, in the first 5-6 rounds, then on LBs and DEs next, hoping to fill the RB position with prospective talent in the late rounds or on the wire. If you do the math, with 12 teams there will be at least 36 WR starters each week, and I'm thinking pickings will be very slim, but with so few RB starter slots, there should be quite a few waiver wire prospects available as the season progresses. I'm estimating I might be able to hit 2 top 10 WRs, 2 top 15 QBs, maybe catch an Eddie Royal or the like the 5-6th round and then start nabbing the top IDP positions. Smart? Crazy?

As a further complication, the draft is an autopick (and the only league I'm in that is such) which can bite, but i look at it like this, coming down the morning after the draft is like Christmas, sure, some of the picks are pink bunny suits, but others are Red Ryder BB guns...

GO BRONCOS!

Thanks Guys,

one popular semi-sleeper on everyone's draft list is Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub. He could be a top 5 QB this year if healthy, and is a great pick at his current ADP in the mid-7th round. However his draft position will likely start to climb if continues to play well in the preseason. At what point does this value QB lose his value?

thanks in advance

10 team non-PPR

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 K

1 D

Scoring is as follows (heavy QB scoring)

25 yds/pt passing 6 pts for TD

10 yds/pt rush/rec 6 pts for TD

30 yds/pt returns 6 pts for TD

Keeping Calvin Johnson (costs me a 6th round pick - 6.05)

I've addressed this prior but then I got to checking my league's scoring more closely and found that the ELITE QBs get ridiculously more pts than ANYONE else. (we're talking roughly 60 more pts than the top RBs and close to 100 pts more than the top WRs)

I'm normally an outside the box thinker and I'm really considering jumping the shark and taking a QB with the 6th pick overall (1.06).

Running Backs that are being kept and thus won't be picked in the first round.

1.) Turner

2.) MJD

3.) Forte

4.) DeAngelo Williams

5.) Steve Slaton

6.) Brandon Jacobs

I know for a fact that most of the top 5 are sheep and are stuck in the RB RB mold so they will pick best available RBs.

One guy is a forward thinker (1.03) but he may be forced to pick RB because he's keeping Boldin.

Am I crazy to pluck a Drew Brees or Tom Brady 6th overall? My next plan would be to take another stud WR at 2.05 and then when everyone else is catching up on WRs in Rds 2 & 3 a value RB may slip to me at 3.06 (Grant, McFadden, Fast Willie - someone in that range)

Thanks for the help... great work you guys!

I'll say this... apparently I got more out of my subscription fee than Big Ben got out of his hotel fee. That hotel should give him his money back... that tv STILL may not work!

Hey guys! TGIT - its audible time!!!

I want your take on some wrs who could be possibly be productive in PPR leagues, especially where you have to start 3 WRs, I am thinking about those bye weeks when your team gets hit with 6 teams off. I don't want to say "this years Lance Moore" or anything like that but just some guys that can be had late in drafts that have the potential to help your team out at some point during the season, whether it be bye week fill in, favorable matchup or to plug in due to injury.

Jabar Gaffney - still running with the first team last I heard, most familiar with McDaniels offense, seems like the type of pro that coaches love, had some productive games in NE, and he doesn't seem to be getting much love in drafts. Is he worth a late round flyer or will he disappear once the regular season starts?

Laurent Robinson, Keenan Burton, Ronald Curry - someone has to catch the ball in STL right? Who steps up in Avery's absence?

DHB, Walker, Johnny Lee Higgins - the news about Schillens was just horrible, I was hoping to snag him late in several PPR leagues I am in, who steps up here or is it all Zach Miller again?

Davone Bess or Greg Camarillo - it sounds like both of these guys are going back and forth fighting for that WR2 spot in Miami, I will let someone spend a higher draft pick on Ginn, both of these guys seem like the better value, especially in ppr leagues depending on which one is on the field. Who do you like?

Mark Bradley, Amani Toomer, Bobby Engram - Bowe seems to be in the doghouse, I don't think that will carry over too far into the season but Cassal has some wily veterans at his disposal now to compliment Bowe. Does Bradley keep the WR2 spot or you think Toomer slides in? Also Engram had some productive years playing out of the slot in Seattle, does he have anything left in the tank?

thanks guys, love the show

Nemesis Enforcer

Guys .. love the show! I've been listening to these pod casts for years.

Last year you spoke of a staff member that for at least the second year in a row gave you a player that he was going to draft higher then his ADP ... and last year that player was Calvin Johnson. I recall you said you'd be monitoring who that guy is this year. Has this pick been revealed yet?

I posted this question here: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...;#entry10680756 and got a lot of good feedback on guys that are good to target earlier than their ADP.

Keep up the great work!

Love the talk.

I'm in a 12 team PPR, Start 1-QB, 1-RB, 2-WR, 1-K, 1-DEF, and two Flex (RB,WR,TE). Other scoring is standard. I have the third overall pick and plan to grab WRs in rounds two and three and maybe even round four. We're talking two of the following: SSmith/DBowe/GJennings/Colston/Welker/Boldin/RWhite. The fourth or fifth round shouts RB to me, someone's gotta be there of some value. assumimg ADP and MJD are gone, here's the thing, most would suggest I take Forte or SJax with the third pick, right. I'm not most. So please discuss the pros and cons of who I plan to take: Randy Moss. My gut tells me he's gonna be HUGE again. I only need to start one RB which is doable with my 4th or 5th pick or trying to wait even further if I have to and try a drafting many RBs at picks 6-8 sith one of them likely hitting. RBs get hurt more than WRs. Drafts are never won in the first three rounds, but they can be lost there. I feel drafting three solid WRs with my first three picks is safer.

-Thanks much,

-George

Get better Cecil. Top three in all 4 of my leagues last year thanks to you guys.

I'm in a ten team two keeper league. My keepers are AD and MoJo. All TD's are 6 pts. 5pt bonus for 100yd rush/rec and 300yd passing.

Through a side wager on the OSU-PSU game, I've gained a second 1st rd pick (losing my 2nd rounder). So now I have the #6 & #9 picks overall. I then pick again with the 9th pick of the 3rd rd.

Here's who should be there at my 1st round picks:

WR- RWhite, SSmith, GJennings, TO

QB- ARodgers, PRivers

RB- PThomas, DMac, KSmith (maybe slaton)

I plan on hitting WR at six. What should I do at 9? Rodgers?

(We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR,1TE, K, Def)

Cecil and Bloom thanks for answering my post last week about crime dogs league.

Here is my question for this week currently Pierre Thomas is listed as the RB15 and Marques Colston is WR18! on the FBG top 300 list any reason why this is. Please give me your thoughts on these two players and why I should draft pierre over guys like barber, portis, and also westbrook, are we just hoping that Bush and the knee issues continue?

Thanks my scoring is 6pts per rushing td and receiving non ppr 1 pt per 10yrds rushing and receiving

Hey guys,

I hope Cecil feels better soon!

Since Jene Bramel is in the house, I thought I would ask you guys an IDP question.

Bloom has often discussed the idea of trading defense for offense in IDP leagues. In my draft, I tried to stay balanced. It is my first IDP league, so I wanted to grab some defensive studs, especially at DE. I drafted both Tuck and Cole in a league which starts 2 DE's. However, I find myself with a lot of depth behind them - DT Tommy Kelly, DT Kelly Gregg, DT Jason Jones and DT Sedrick Ellis.

The issue is that I own both Chaz Schilens (out 6-8 weeks) and Donnie Avery in this league too.

Should I shop my extra depth at defensive positions? What kind of value can I get for the players I mentioned above?

Thanks guys, and I can't wait for the IDP Roundtable to begin.

Is Andy Levitre overmatched physically in terms of being able to start for Buffalo? In the two preseason games that I've seen him it appears that he is just getting worked. The games were against Tennessee and Tampa Bay, but still he's doesn't seem to be doing well to me and is getting thrown around quite a bit.

If you have seen his games do you have any observations?

Kenny Britt usually doesn't grab the ball out of the air with his hands. Usually that's sort of a bad thing for receivers, but in terms of the whole package it's not everything. I remember Marshall Faulk talking a little about this and if I recall correctly he said for tight ends and over the middle type stuff being a body catcher is good because you can take a hit and hold on. In the Titans game there was a perfect example of this on a Britt play where he was leveled as the ball came to him. He held on and it was a big play. He seems to have the size to overpower most jams. I have to see more of him to determine if he's slow off the line and to see if he can make jammers pay, but going on the plays that I did see he doesn't appear to have any problems with it. On top of that he has the frame that combined with his speed really can fool defenders into thinking they can close on him if he gets half a step. They really can't close because once he's going his frame owns a lot of space and even if they do he's going to be in position to make a powerful play on the ball whereas the DB is usually going to have to make a weak last ditch attempt because of how his natural body shield and height determines the trajectory of a proper pass.

Do you agree with this or have anything to add about his game just based on the two preseason games? Also I can't remember if I heard you guys talking about this or heard it somewhere else, but is it true that most if not all of the Rutgers guys have excellent work ethics? Any info on the type of team culture these Rutgers players come from? I know that Britt worked out with Rod Smith prior to the draft and he vouched for him to Mike Heimerdinger which had something to do with the Titans taking him.

Who are some lesser known offensive linemen and/or defensive linemen that have impressed or disappointed you in preseason games so far? What about their games made you take notice or update your scouting notes on them?

Thanks Chase. I've got some awfully big shoes hair to fill tonight.I think it'll be a little more Nuke LaLoosh than Lou Gehrig. Excited to get the call, hoping to keep it around the plate.

Keep the questions coming everybody. Looking forward to it.

Since we have 2 of the IDP gurus on, some IDP questions:

1) Every year, IDPs come out of nowhere because they are so dependent on situation, scheme, etc. Who are the guys this year that you think can completely come out of nowhere and finish in the top 16-32 (LB2/DB2/DE2 in a 16 team league), or better, and are probably on the wire even in most dynasty leagues? Bonus points if they are a guy like Tuck who will be perennial startable at their position given the opportunity

2) How do you see the TEN LB crew shaping up? Will Tulloch get healthy and be the guy, or is Thornton the one to own? Without Haynesworth, seems like there could be a lot of tackle opportunities here. (And of course I think Sig already had 3 TEN DBs in the top 10).

3) Who are the best backup or 3rd QBs that you think have a legitimate shot to start this year or into the future, and who you think will get an opportunity to? Will David Carr ever be a starting QB in this league again? (He looked sharp on Mon, albeit against the backup defense). Will Matt Moore get a shot barring injury to Jake, despite Jake's extension, whether in Carolina or elsewhere? Could we see a guy like Kolb or Troy Smith being traded this year and possibly compete for a starting job? If Schaub goes down, will they bring in someone else since Orlovsky is terrible and Grossman is hurt? (E.g., could one of these QBs mentioned or a guy like Josh Johnson, Tarvaris, etc get a shot?)

IDP league, standard scoring but Sacks = 4 points and Passes Deflected = 2 points.

I'm looking around for a DLineman in a situation where a player is transitioning from DE to OLB, whether b/c he's a rookie or a scheme change.  Anyone stick out from the names I've listed below?  Thoughts on anyone I haven't listed?  All of the obvious big name defensive linemen are gone so I'd appreciate if you guys stick to the more unknown guys out there.

Which DE transitioning to OLB do you think will give me the most production for my DL spot?

Hey guys,

Can you talk a little about how the addition of Favre affects Vikings players? I really liked Visanthe Shiancoe in the 1st preseason game. Do you think this boosts him up and how far?

Is there a Viking WR worth taking? and finally does Favre help or hurt ADP?

Thanks

Tom in VT

Congratulations on being #26. I usually listen through the FBG website, but since people are paying attention I'll switch iTunes.

Since Bramel is on board I'll ask about IDP:

Are you still high on Mayo, Lofton and Durant taking that next step this year? If so, how would you rank them? (Looking for both tackles and big play.)

Also, who is an under-the-radar player who becomes the next solid tackles + big play guy a la Karlos Dansby or London Fletcher?

Thanks.

So the 26th rated podcast nice I will have to start referring to you guys as the Raiders or the Bengals, I love the show and I keep promoting footballguys to everyone I know. You guys are the Oprah of Fantasy Football!

My question is I am in a 10 team PPR keeper league that allows us to keep 2 players each year, we get extra points for long TD's. I have

M. Turner

B. Westbrook

F. Gore

Andre Johnson

My question is what two to keep? I know Turner is a no brainer, and I was leaning towards Westbrook because of the Eagles Bias. Gore would also be a great pick but now I am thinking to keep Turner and A. Johnson to have that stud WR also. I have the 9th pick in the draft and I am sure I can get another top RB as I think the top WR's will wash up fast.

Thanks Guys

1) If not this week, would you do a mock draft with the first 12 picks PPR and non-PPR?

2) Let's say I have the 10th pick in a 10-team PPR league and both Tomlinson and Westbrook are there. Do I draft them or go for the uber-stud WRs instead? Or how about one of each?

3) How far can Brady fall before he's considered a steal?

4) WR-WR is all the rage in the Shark Pool lately. What runningbacks am I looking at if I go WR-WR?

5) Do you think the rookie RBs will be as successful as last year?

6) Why is everyone so down on Marion Barber?

Wih Jene on board I have an IDP question. What is the situation in the Chargers secondary. There was a lot of hype with Keith Ellison being mentioned as a probable starter - now they are saying Clinton Hart is playing well and should keep his job. Who else will be with Hart? What about CB's? Who do you see as the starting 4 some.

Thank you in advance

I just drafted in a 12 team, start 2 QB fantasy league. With 1 point for 20 pass yds and 6 for pass TD, going into the draft my plan was to get 2 QB1s. The rest of the scoring is fairly standard, one flex, no PPR.

I was happy to get Brady with my first pick r1-8, but after going WR/WR in rounds 2-3, I couldn't pass up the value of Romo and Schaub in rounds 4/5. I also picked up Stafford near the end of the draft, as all the late rbs I was targeting were picked before coming back around to me, in this format I felt Stafford would have trade value greater than any of those rb5/6 types in the last rounds.

The result of this is I ended up weak at RB and need to figure out the best use of my QB surplus to trade for a starter at RB.

I have 3 rbs: McFadden, Rice, and Freddy Jackson. I feel comfortable enough rolling with that the first couple weeks in my 2 RB slots, probably use a WR in flex.

When Lynch gets back I will really need an RB 1.

What strategy would you use to turn a QB into a RB1 at the best value, and thoughts on who should I aim for?

At this point I would probably have to settle for a mid level RB2 for either Schaub or Romo. Right now draft round values are a roadblock, I've put out a couple feeler offers that have been shot down, because no one will trade a 'second round guy' for a 4th or 5th round guy yet even if they are loaded at RB and have poor QBs.

Im thinking if I wait until in season, owners that realize they are starting Garrard/Orton with no backup, or rolling with Cassell/Sanchez/Collins, I might be able to trade a Romo or Schaub straight up for a RB1 like Slaton or SJax.

Thanks!

Your show is fantastic. My commute would not be the same without you guys and the podcasts you provide.

First some league info:

My league awards 2 points for each rushing or receiving yard, 2 points per reception and 60 points per TD. Also, PPR...2 points per reception. Teams start a QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, Flex (WR/RB), TE, K, DST. I have to keep one franchise player who will be MJD and then I have the option to keep 2 others. I will also keep De'Angelo Williams and Brees. This will give me 3 keepers and once all teams have 3 players amongst franchise players, keepers or drafting in their set position, the whole league starts drafting in serpentine format in what would be round 3 (all franchise players do not count as a round so the second player teams take is essentially round 1).

So, my question:

I also have Marshawn Lynch and would really like to trade him for a draft pick. With my keepers, I need to take WRs and would like to grab a good one as I have the 12th pick in a 12-team league. So, what is fair value for Lynch? Also, who are good WRs to target in this scoring format considering that each team can keep up to 3 players and the studs will probably be long gone by the time I draft.

Hey guys, not sure what to do with my team. I felt alot better about it at the end of last season than I do now. I'd like to make some trades to improve and win now. I have pretty good depth and could probably get some good players. What positions should I concentrate on?

Thanks, Dirk

Classy ones,

I am looking at the draft and am dtrying to decide what to do at QB and TE in a start one of each league, standard scoring. I can merely guess at where guys will be available but I'd love to hear your thoughts on which would be the best value pick at each position:

Brady in early second

Manning in late 3rd

Romo in late 7th

Schaub in early 8th

Garrard in early 12th (would you be ok with him as your starter?

Witten in the 4th

Gates in the 5th

Clark in the 6th

Daniels in the 8th

Z Miller in the 12th

Thanks guys!

Guys - I am struggling with some possible combinations for my first 3 picks. We do a modified auction for our first 3 picks and then move to a standard serpentine draft. I believe these are legit possible combos I could achieve:

Which would you rather have?

LT/DeAngelo Williams/Ronnie Brown

LT or DeAngelo with Frank Gore & Brian Westbrook

Tom Brady/Steve Slaton/Ronnie Brown

Tom Brady/Frank Gore/Steve Smith

Tom Brady/Brian Westbrook/Greg Jennings

Andre Johnson/Calvin Johnson/Brandon Jacobs

Start: 1QB/2RB/2WR/1TE/1 Flex/1K/1D

Typical scoring (4pt pass TD - 1pt - 10yds run/rec)

Exceptions (1pt for ea. 3 receptions & bonus pt for every 20yds on TD score)

I am playing with some possible combinations - what would you prefer?

Really, really love it? Meh?

Thanks

Bink

The 1st team Miami Defense completely disrupted the Jacksonville offense the other night. They bottled up the run and consistently applied severe pressure on David Garrard. They seem to have an interesting mix of veterans and youngsters.

Could this D surprise this year and vault up to a Top 10 or even Top 5 defense???

Kregg Lumpkin Chances

Kregg Lumpkin was the 4th Packer RB to get on the field in Week 1 of preseason. He was not working against 1st teamers, but looked good. What stood out was his ability to get yards after contact and really move a pile.

Any idea where he slots in the Packer RB pecking order once the season begins???

Nemesis Enforcer
gaffney - late round flyer in PPR leaguesSTL WR - Like Robinson the best, dont forget about mcMichael

OAK - most likely Miller, but still take Schilens in the late rounds

MIA - Bess, Camarillo continues to slip on the depth chart, can only imagine the knee isnt responding well

KC - Still hearing mainly good things about Bradley. Kent Babb's (KC Star) first instinct when Toomer was signed was that he was there to push Engram

Thanks NE!

Here's who should be there at my 1st round picks:WR- RWhite, SSmith, GJennings, TOQB- ARodgers, PRiversRB- PThomas, DMac, KSmith (maybe slaton)I plan on hitting WR at six. What should I do at 9? Rodgers?(We start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR,1TE, K, Def)
Definitely like rodgers at the pick in that format with the RBs you are keeping, and landing a top WR with your first pick - looks like you have the makings of a team that can go the distance.

Thomas will only get 12-18 touches in games when Bush is healthy, but in week 13/14 last year, he showed he can be a top-end RB2 even with that workload because of the offense and his red zone effectiveness. When you add in his RB1 upside if (when?) Bush goes down, I think that makes him worth RB15.Colston should be a little higher than WR18 imo, Im not as worried about his knee, and he has top 10 upside when healthy, but the point is, Colston is an excellent guy to have as your WR2, a little risky as a WR1 - top target in one of the best two or three passing offenses in the league.

I dont know if you can get much for your DT stable, but even if you cant, I would drop at least one (probably Ellis), if not two to pick up some fliers at WR.

With your two DE studs, trading depth is a great idea. I'm not sure, though, that you'll get much mileage from those tackles. I like all four, but each one has enough question marks that I doubt you'll get much offensive value in return for them unless you can find a taker who feels much the same way you do and has a surplus at the position you want.I think you'll be lucky to get a WR5 with questions for one of those tackles. It's likely you'll be better off working the waiver wire hard to bridge the gap until the MASH unit returns to health. I'd bump Kelly to grab anyone with a shot at some targets right now and work to make a deal with what's left.

If you do get a taker, I wouldn't fuss over the DT in the trade. I'd try to hold Ellis and Jones, but if you're getting a viable player in return I'd make the deal.

Bonus points if they are a guy like Tuck who will be perennial startable at their position given the opportunity :)

No one comes immediately to mind as a guy with all kinds of talent who's fallen off the radar but clearly deserves a better fate. There are plenty of guys who could become the next Justin Tuck or Shelton Quarles, but nobody this offseason that I've just had to have on my roster like a DJ Williams or even Lawrence Timmons in past years that I'll hold no matter how long it takes or grab after folks have given up on them.

Until one of the veteran OLBs falter or are injured, it's status quo in Tennessee. Thornton and Bulluck have the range and nickel snaps to hold the value of whomever plays MLB down. I don't necessarily buy the argument that Haynesworth killed tackle opportunity. The Titans were right in the middle of the league in team tackle opportunity last year after a much stingier 2007.

I think you look at the young guys who someone thought highly of -- Brian Brohm, Josh Freeman, Drew Stanton types -- but have seen their stock slip way down. Nobody really jumps out at me as a 2009 option, though.

Evening Sig and Jene,Firstly, get well wishes to Cecil. Can you please give your opinions and or outlooks for the following TE's in a 16 team non ppr dynasty league:Kellen Winslow -- low TE1 with wide range or expectationJeremy Shockey -- see Winslow with much better QB situationJermichael Finley -- plenty of upside but not likely to get enough targets to trust as a clear TE2Todd Heap -- like a high upside guy like this that's easy to cut at TE2Bo Scaife -- very nice TE2 option lateRandy McMichael -- very nice TE2 option late with injury riskMartin Rucker -- see Finley with worse QB situationJames Casey -- can't see him contributing much this yearGary Barnidge -- no opinion :)Desmond Clark -- pro's pro but now unlikely to get a large enough piece of the pie.

Which DE transitioning to OLB do you think will give me the most production for my DL spot?Players NOT Available:Terell SuggsAaron KampmanSome Available Players:Brian OrakpoMatt RothJason TaylorDarrel Reid Derrick BurgessChike OkeaforJustin Smith
Justin Smith will be a RDE exclusively this year. He still provides steady DL2 value. Jason Taylor stands out on that list. Matt Roth really dug himself a hole and Taylor has looked very good in camp. May not push 45+ solos, but has DL3+ value for sure. Orakpo could make himself into a good option, too.Other guys would include Robert Ayers (assuming he wakes up before the end of camp), Elvis Dumervil and Tamba Hali. Don't see a monster 55 solo, 8+ sack season out of any of these guys. I'd have my eye trained on Taylor, Orakpo and Hali probably first.

Congratulations on being #26. I usually listen through the FBG website, but since people are paying attention I'll switch iTunes.Since Bramel is on board I'll ask about IDP:Are you still high on Mayo, Lofton and Durant taking that next step this year? If so, how would you rank them? (Looking for both tackles and big play.) Also, who is an under-the-radar player who becomes the next solid tackles + big play guy a la Karlos Dansby or London Fletcher? Thanks.
Not too much of a next step for Mayo. I think any added value would come from big plays and I'm not certain the corners and pass rush will be good enough to allow a big increase there. Still firmly a LB1 expectation for me.Search for Lofton in the IDP Forum and you'll see that I can't pimp him much harder than I have since late winter. Extremely effective in run support last year, now in an every-down role and plenty of turnover throughout the back seven to potentially limit the competition for tackles. Strongly believe he approaches 100 solos and elite status this year.Durant clearly takes the next step statistically. I have a nagging doubt that he'll have trouble shedding blocks well enough to reach consistent LB1 numbers, but he's got the role, surrounding cast and enough talent to give it a good run.Lawrence Timmons likely isn't under the radar any longer, but he's an easy grab if he's still in that category in your league. I think the next dynamic talent few are talking about might be Kevin Burnett. Burnett was a very effective nickel backer and added a couple of sacks and a little coverage value in Dallas. If he holds the every-down job, stays healthy and the Chargers are as aggressive this year as they say, he's got that kind of upside.
