Two Hours of Live Audible Tonight 8/5 10 pm Eastern (1 Viewer)

Hey Guys! Football season is almost here!! Which RB's have the most value this year and in the future for a non-ppr keeper league K. Moreno, P. Thomas, L. McCoy, and J. Stewart. I can keep three and still not sure who to drop. Moreno's injury has me a little worried....

Thanks!

Show is fantastic guys - best in the business - thanks for all you do (I have been listening to cbssport FF podcast and it is dreadful compared the quality of the audible - so keep it up)

Alright my question is about my man Donovan McNabb. I know he is now playing for the dreaded Skins and in a Shannahan run happy offense (well in the past anyways). I see Sigmund has him ranked 13 and FBG's average at #11 QB. My strategy is stock up on RB's and WR's in a standard PPR league and take a QB later in the draft. I like McNabb as my QB1 getting him in the 8th or 9th round. I see just as much potential in McNabb this year as in Rivers and yet Rivers is the number 7 QB off the board. He is also playing for a new contract next year and a big season in a poor Washington system could really raise his stock.

So my question is why not take McNabb as my starting QB1 in the later rounds?

Thanks guys

Avid listener/reader to everything you and Cecil do...keep up the great work.

One of the situations I've been watching closely throughout the offseason is the Chicago receiving situation. With Martz now in Chicago and his history with the passing game it's likely that there will be a spike in production among the receivers but the trick will be which one of the receivers to target. Personally, I'm a big fan of Knox's skillset and think he has a good chance to perform well above his ADP, even though it's risen quite a bit lately. I'd like to hear what you guys think of him, the Chicago receiving situation in general and who will likely be the top wr.

Let's get a little IDP talk going. Bloom, do you have any guys that you feel are flying below the radar in big play leagues? Who out there is a good candidate to jump up to top 5 at their position?

Hi Guys. What are a few teams you want your defense playing this year? Last year it was gold whenever you had the defense playing against St Louis. How does it look this year? The Rams and Lions?

Guys

I'm in a 10 team non ppr redraft, in which we protect 1 player. I will be protecting LBJ as my RB. Based on some mock drafts, I see Moss,Fitzgerald,Dre Johnson being off the board. At the 10/11 turn I really like Roddy White. Who makes most sense as my WR2, Calvin Johnson, Miles Austin, or Reggie Wayne. Anyone else to consider?

Is Mendenhall a legit RB2 with Flozell Adams on the roster?

Bloom what do expect out of Zbikowski this season as he fills in for Ed Reed?

I know you two like Stafford and view him as one of the last qbs in that qbbc tier. I agree with this viewpoint, but I'm down on every skilled position player in Detroit (except for Best). How do you view the Lion's passing game playing out? Calvin Johnson will be productive if he gets the touches, but he has only had 67, 78, and 48 receptions in his 3 seasons. Do you think this is the year he gets monster stats and gets 80+ receptions? Is burleson going to be fantasy relevant? Will Scheffler get enough time on the field to be a factor?

What RB's that are currently ranked beyond 15-20 (ADP or general consensus) that have the best shot of breaking into the top ten this year?

Actually my question was going to be "Why is nobody talking about the additions that the Lions have made on offense with Burleson, Best, and Scheffler?"

Hi Guys: Your show has replaced sports radio for my daily drive times. In my ride, it's all Audible all the time. Thanks for keeping my obsession properly fed.

I have an IDP auction draft coming up on Saturday...20 teams, 28-man rosters, $300 budget. $100 of our budget can be used for keepers beginning in year 2 so I'll be looking for a few buy-lows this year for hopeful 2011 breakouts. Start QB - 2RB - 3WR - TE - 1 flex RB/WR/TE, kicker and IDPs 2DL, 3LB, 3DB. Quarterback scoring is unique: .6 per completion, -.9 per incompletion, 6pt TDs and 1pt per 10 passing yards. Receptions are .3 pts, rushing attempts .1 and IDP scoring is 1.2 pts solo tackle, .6 per assist with sacks 2.3 pts, INTs 2 pts and passes defensed 3 pts. With 20 teams and QB-heavy scoring I know I will have to be aggressive in getting one of the stud QBs and 1 or 2 of the QB by committee guys. I was hoping you could talk about how you would approach your strategy in a league like this. Is there a good way to assess early on if people are underspending on studs and I should make my move before the price of the mid-tier guys goes way up? Thanks for your thoughts on this.

Hi Guys,

Love the show. Mr. Bloom has shot up to the top of list of favorite FFL prognosticators.

My Non-PPR league is set up where we do not have a separate TE category, so TE's get lumped into the same category as WRs.

That being said where would you slot Clark, Gates, Davis, Witten, Gonzo in the WR category?

Thanks!

Hey Sigmund and Cecil,

I just got a news flash from the Denver Post that Elvis Dumervil tore a pectoral muscle in practice yesterday (confirmed today) - he's out 4-5 months according to initial estimates, and may miss the entire season. LINK

1). Who is likely to take over Dumervil's spot, and will that player have a solid chance to duplicate Dumervil's sack total (16.5 last year led the NFL)?

2). Given your assessment of Dumervil's likely replacement, could you tell us how badly this loss will impact the Bronco's team defense (for those fantasy owners who play in D/ST only leagues, not IDP).

Thanks,

Mark W.

don't mean to railroad your question but it would be interesting to hear their take on how they feel this will impact the offensive side of the ball as well. It's easier to go to a run heavy attack (that they were planning to do) when you have a solid defense to keep you in games but just a couple years ago the Broncos were horrible defensively and had to throw the 2nd half of nearly every game. I think an enormous injury like this is likely to impact the defenses ability to keep games close which may result in more passing than was originally anticipated. If that's the case who's the beneificiary?

In a redraft league, I've decided I like Peyton Manning enough to draft him. Having never selected a QB early, what's a good draft plan with a stud QB? Do you draft an Eli, McNabb, Ryan, or Flacco in about the 8th to protect against injury, or do you just wait and grab Garrard, Henne, Smith, or Cassel in the 11th or 12th? And if you wait, what do you think of Freeman as Peyton's bye week 7 filler, and who plays at home against St. Louis that week?

I'm back, I'm paid in full for my Footballguys.com Insider, and I'm ready do do some drafting.

Do a quick boom/bust potential analysis (say boom = solid WR2 to WR1 numbers) of these late-round receivers who are going into new feature roles, have a change at QB, or have dropped so far they may be a deal. Don't worry PPR vs not, just gut feeling:

Johnny Knox

Steve Breaston

Jabar Gaffney/Eddie Royal

Louis Murphy/Chaz Schillens

Santonio Holmes

Roy Williams

Malcolm Floyd

Mario Manningham

Thanks guys. And Cecil, I needs me some 87.7 Bronco coverage online so lets make it happen.

With all the injuries we've had this preseason can we please stop all this nonsensical discussion regarding expanding the season to 18 games; can't we be happy with the product we currently have on the field? Many of these players are paid handsomely for what they do but they are not androids. With all the hype surrounding the NFL draft in late April and the relatively short time span between then and the start of OTA's and Training Camp the current NFL schedule should be more than enough to keep us occupied and the NFL rolling in the green.

You can have too much of a good thing. As Miles once said to Coltrane when the later complained he didn't know how to end a solo; "you take the #$%^& horn out of your mouth". Can you imagine playing a season of Fantasy Baseball? I'd rather load my Ipod with Yoko Ono's music.

Great show; and damn this thread fills up fast.

Good evening gentleman

I am in a 14 team keeper/auction league, and I been working on my keeper mock list of myself and everyone in the league. In this league You can only keep one player, this keeper is kept for 10 bucks of your 100 buck auction draft cap. I have a league member I am having a hard time deciding who his keeper will be, his choices are Flacco, Cutler, R.Brown and Owen Daniels. Who would be the best keeper out of this bunch of guys, because right now I want to say Cutler, but I could be wrong. Please give your thoughts on this, and once again thank you for this great show.

Mr.B

After the Top3 RB, you have the next tier of Rice, Gore, Jackson and Turner.

Which one of the 4 is the safest pick and which one offers the most upside?

Hey guys.

I have the 7th pick in a 14-team redraft league. I'm not too excited about having to pick Turner or Jackson at 1.07. Would you suggest trying to trade down (maybe my 1st and 6th round picks for 2nd and 3rd round picks)??

It seems like there's a dropoff in talent in the middle of the 3rd round so I'm wondering if I should stockpile 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Thanks guys.

At the end of a 20 round email draft and I have a TE conundrum. I got caught salivating over the talent at RB & WR while all of the TE's were taken. Can you give your thoughts on the guys that are left?

TE Owen Daniels (setback with ACL injury)

TE Kellen Winslow (often injured)

TE Visanthe Shianco (Tavaris Jackson?)

TE Heath Miller (you guys are both PIT homers...)

TE John Carlson (bad O-line)

TE Fred Davis (Cooley to deal with)

TE Tony Scheffler (Pettigrew to be petti-groomed?)

Do I nab one of these guys before other teams draft them as backups, or do I continue stocking up other positions and take what's left. What are some other TE options late? Benjamin Watson in CLE? Shawn Nelson in BUF?

BTW - 27 drafts so far and only 33 to go to hit my goal this year! Time to go to work!

Great stuff, Gentlemen.

Recent reports seem to confirm we will see a RB-by-committee approach in Oakland. How do you value Michael Bush and Darren McFadden? Is either of these two likely to take command of the RB position, or are we more likely to see a shared backfield approach all season? For Dynasty purposes, do you see either back as a "diamond in the rough"?

Thanks!

ha . . . just listened to your Raiders Preseason episode, and there you already discussed this very topic.Carry on. Keep up the great work.

With the Randy Moss era potentially winding down, please rank Edelman, Price, and Tate in order of who is the best dynasty receiver to own on the Pats going forward.

Cecil/Sigmund - Talk a bit about the Houston backfield. Who do you see coming out as the yardage guy and who is gets the goal line carries. You guys ROCK!

am i nuts to believe that by week 4 or 5 both steve slaton of the texans & lance moore of the saints will be worthy of being fantasy #4's (at their positions ....4th RB or 4th WR on your roster) or flex play options ??

10 team re-draft PPR

BanZai draft

Start 1qb 2wr 3wr 1te 1k 1dst 1flex(including qb)

qb tds 4pts others 6pts

What kind of strategy would you suggest if you have the #1 pick. my concern is at rounds 3 & 4.

1.01 Other than CJ2K i'm really considering MJD instead of Peterson. what do you think?

2.10 Best WR or QB?

3.10 Best WR or QB?

4.10 BPA

5.01

Thanks

Could you just talk about young offensive linemen who are going to get a shot at extended playing time? 1st, 2nd, & 3rd year guys who haven't played much, but have developed and are now in position to make an impact. What are you hearing about Bruce Campbell?

General thoughts on the following offensive lines in terms of likely fantasy production. KC, DEN, SD, OAK, GB, DAL

Pound for pound toughest rookie RB, toughest rookie WR. why?

Hey guys, been listening to you guys since the beginning of last season, first time threader. Truly amazing work by you both and the rest of footballguys.com, your popularity's spreading like WILDFIRE. My league's settings (0.5 ppr with IDP, 32 Rounds) are below and I was wondering around where you would start to think about picking IDP? Should I wait and keep filling my offensive depth will my league mates begin taking LB's and stud DE or should I aim at taking a Jared Allen/Trent Cole type DE? I'm not into taking LBs early, I truly believe DE's need to go first as they are VERY thin. Thanks in advance
