Woodrow: I'm jumping to the front of the line.

:hifive:

We've all now done a lot of drafts, and this will be the last time you get to talk to the listeners before most have their own drafts wrapped up. What's the one mistake you see owners making most often? The one player or strategy you've seen happening time and again that you want to IMPLORE people to avoid making?

wooohoooooo TGIT!!!

Can you guys talk about the positive, negative or neutral effects the recent OC changes in KC and TB will have on the offenses? Both have injured playmakers (Cassel and Antonio Bryant) respectively, what do these changes right before the season mean for these offenses that already have an uphill battle?

thanks guys

You guys did a great job with the 12 hour marathon. Much respect. Best part was getting the Dr Rockzo appearance with less than 5 mins to go! I am in a start 2 RB, non PPR league, 10 teams. Protect 1 player.

I protected Chris Johnson to be my RB#1. I grabbed McFAdden and some how was able to grab Ronnie Brown also. I like both RBs as my RB#2. My problem is how to determine who to start on a weekly basis. Do you recommend playing the matchup, or to just keep 1 guy in for the first few weeks and see what shakes out?

Please advise.

Best podcast there is, guys.

In earlier shows you have mentioned the fluctuation in perceived value over the course of the summer and into fantasy draft season. Like most FBGs I try to stay on top of info and groupthink so I'm aware of the general consensus (and so I can compare it to my own analysis). It appears to me that as we approach kickoff the risers and fallers are fluctuating even more wildly than earlier in the summer. Do you guys agree with this? Do you have any guys that you think are being unduly promoted or overlooked these last days?

Thanks for any input. Keep up the great work.

Thanks as always for the entertainment and advise guys.

15 team league scoring below

I can keep up to 2 players but forfeit a pick in the round(ie keep 1 lose first round pick, keep 2 lose first 2 round picks)

keeper possibles are

Romo, Chris Johnson, Tomlinson, Colston, Bowe.

I CANNOT keep 2 at the same position.

So basically do I keep CJ or LT and then should I keep anyone else?

Also after 2 rounds of the draft (including keepers) we cannot have 2 at the same position so

2nd question I believe Randy Moss may be released should I try to get the 15th spot in the draft (snake) giving me first pick in round 2 trying to get him along with one keeper or try to get pick one so I'll have last in round 2 but first in round 3 (to get 2nd RB)? Also QB TD's are 6 points so they go quick as well (Brady, Brees, Manning highly likely kept)

Thoughts?

Keep it up boys.

Wondering if it is worth holding onto BOTH E Graham and Caddalic Williams in a 12 team non-ppr. (My gut tells me to wait till week 1 and then cut the one who doesn't get carries)

Bang up Job as usual guys

2 things...

I'm VERY high on Chris Henry this year. Got him all three of my leagues. Am I jumping the gun thinking this guy finishes in the top 15 this year?

#2 - I've got a juicy offer on the table right now to acquire McNabb (Don't trust my QB duo of Schaub and Flacco) but i'm hesitant because of Vick. Now that we know he's eligible to come back in week 3, should I DMc owners be nervous? Does this equal less production? Less touches?

Thanks

Cory T in the D

Can you comment on Earl Bennett? Have him at the end of my bench as a WR5 (redraft league), unclear he's even going to be a starter. Looking for a good upside flyer, would someone like RBs Hillis or Rhodes (have lynch but not jackson) or WRs Williamson/Butler/Burleson be better bets to have on the roster heading into week1?

Great show guys. I would like your opinion on which one of these middle round backs you would prefer to have non-PPR.

Joseph Addai

Larry Johnson

Beanie Wells

Knowshon Moreno

Marshawn Lynch

Would you be happy with Donnie Avery as a starting receiver to start the year? He's falling to the 8th/9th rounds lately and would allow me to be ahead of runs, and even take a defense early, if I could count on him to continue where he left off last year.

I have a very open ended question which you all can attack from any point you want. Seriously, from both a Fantasy and NFL game day perspective, what do you see happening to the Raiders? Greg Ellis blows up after the saints destroy them, former players talk about the lack of on field focus, Head Coaching changes, Al Davis seemingly living in another dimension. What will happen to this once proud franchise and how can we have hope for the development of players with raw talent such as Jamarcus Russell and DHB? Is this a Dynasty wasteland?

You guys rock. Finished up an auction draft over the weeekend where I landed ADP, Pierre Thomas, Leon Washington, Chester Taylor (start 2) along with Steve Smith (CAR), Royal, A. Gonzalez, Ward, and Cotchery (start 3). This is a week one question but probably one that I'll face many times this year. 1/2 ppr for RB's, .75 ppr for WR's where we start 2 RB/3WR and a flex.

Trying to figure out the best way to maximize my flex position - do I roll with Ward, play it safe and hedge that Taylor is going to get enough scraps on his own (or even vulture a TD from Peterson), or roll the dice on Leon Washington, who could see a bigger role this year? Appreciate all you guys do for not only the Footballguys community, but outsiders as well as evidenced by your rocking 12 hour podcast this past weekend (still working my way though it!)

Bloom: Waaaay back in May you keyed on Ten Backfields to Monopolize.

Now that camp and the preseason are done where do you stand on your original thoughts?

I'm in an auction league so I can draft at will. Help me pick the pick of the litter.

Cheers!

I have 9 wr's on my 14 team IDP dynasty squad with 48 man rosters (start 3 or 4) and the bottom 3 are Miles Austin, Keenan Burton and James Hardy. Is Hardy worth keeping over either of the other 2 or should I just punt? I don't intend on keeping all 3.

edit: whomever I cut will likely be picked up by a team that is weak at wide receiver. Oh yeah, it's 1 ppr for wr's.

I would like to know if Willie Parker is going to be healthy some time this season, and what is the update if any on Jonathan Stewart. Week one I need to make a choice between Beanie Wells or Willie Parker as my number two RB, what do you think?

Hey guys big fan of the show! I got a couple of questions.

- Do you think Josh Cribbs will have some value in basic ppr leagues (no points for kick returns)?

- I have both Devone Bess and Brian Hartline which one would be the better start out of the 2 if you had to pick one?

This is a good questionI have the same question I had last week...it didn't get answered so I'm trying again. For those of us with the plans to draft WR's and maybe QB early how would you rank and what are pros and cons for mid round RB's like... experienced catagory: W Parker, L Johnson, J Addai, Thomas Jones. Young bucks: K Moreno, R Rice, Chris Wells, D Ward. Thanks

Jon from Detroit:

I went RB heavy big-time this year trying to win 4 of the last 6 championships and my second back-to-back title. I've only got two WRs on my roster (we start 3 RBs 2 WRs): Anthony Gonzalez and Chris Henry. I'm looking to round out this group, and the following receivers are on the wire: Muhsin, Jenkins, Steve Smith (NYG), Branch, Clayton, Crayton, Bruce, Curtis, Henderson and Meachem. I'd like to grab 3 of these. Thoughts?

Jonathon

I would be interested in your thoughts on players that may be residing on the waiver wire in a Dynasty league, and shouldn’t be - upside players too good to not be on a Dynasty team...

Great show and I appreciate the expertise!

Hey Guys,

How do you feel about Donald Brown in the 6th of a PPR draft? Let me put it in context... do you like:

(1) Ronnie Brown/Hines Ward or

(2) Donald Brown/Marcus Colston

Also, would you take Willie Parker over Donald Brown if you went heavy at WR through 4 rounds?

Lastly, what kind of a train wreck is happening in Tampa? Is this a minor de-railment? Or a full-fledged, off-the-tracks, scene-from-The Fugitive multi-car CRASH (when Harrison Ford as "Dr. Richard Kimble" escapes)?

Thanks

ps- Matt Jones sighting in Tennessee!

Will RB Mike Goodson get major playing time this year with Jonathan Stewart out of action, or will DeAngello get all the carries?

Great work on Saturday. Much props to all the hosts and guests. Great cause. Hope it worked out well.

Draft Strategy question. How do you approach this setup which favors WRs and QBs?

1RB, 1QB, 2WR, K & DST

12 Teams NonPPR

All TDs including passing TDs are 6 pts

RBs

1point per 20 yards rushing

WRs

1 point per 10 yards recieving.

Tight Ends not eligible in any form. Whatever...

Preferable draft strategy advice. Thanks.

Not for the running game, they still know how to do that. I like the McFadden/Bush combo at current ADPs, particularly in PPR leagues.

Thanks for the answer guys :wolf: for those who may have been curious (and correct me if I'm wrong) their answer was basically that a broken bone in foot may be a crucial injury to Avery, as he is a speed guy, and his ADP hasn't quite fallen enough, only about 2 rounds currently. Probably not worth targeting as more than your first backup WR, and preferably your WR4 in a start 2. According to The St.Louis Dispatch Sept 4, 2009

Looks like there's no doubt about wide receiver Donnie Avery's availability for the Rams' Sept. 13 regular-season opener in Seattle. Avery, widely projected as the Rams' No. 1 wide receiver this season, returned to action against Kansas City in Thursday's Governor's Cup game at the Edward Jones Dome.

Avery started Thursday and was in for several plays during the first two series of the game. He had no catches and no passes thrown his way. Avery suffered a fractured foot in the Rams' Aug. 7 scrimmage at Lindenwood University. At the time, coach Steve Spagnuolo described it as a 4-to-6 week injury. Today marks four weeks since the injury.
Sounds like Avery is making a speedy recovery

Yeah I would have been a little more optimistic about him if I had known that. I would still be fine with him as the first WR off my bench in the 8th/9th.

Id go with LWash vs. Houston in week 1. Slugfest in PIT/TEN, low scoring likely. I love Minnesota at Cleveland, so cant argue with Taylor either, but I think Washington will get just as many touches, and he has the talent to do more with them

Just want to thank you guys for answering my question and in general for an amazing preseason. You've given me "clarity" for my drafts. I can "tell a story" about how I'm going to bid in my auction. And just in general I've learned a lot about football.

Rock on.
