Two players I hate to own and watch... (1 Viewer)

I have Calvin Johnson and Steve Smith. These are the two most frustrating and most fun players to watch. I also own Reggie Wayne. It has been a difficult choice every week. Reggie has always started and I needed to decide between the other two.

It has been absolute torture to watch them play. Calvin is on a terrible team with 1/2 of a quarterback, and Smith never gets targeted until late in the game if they are down, and if the run game has built up a lead he never gets targeted.

Anyone else glad this torture is almost over?

I love having three studs on my team, but it makes things more difficult. I hate to see 15-20 points on my bench.

I somewhat agree, but it makes things fun.

The guys I hate to own and watch are Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes.

I do not mean to bash these two, I guess this topic is more of owning more studs than you can start. Good problem to have, makes the lineup decisions more interesting

Been doing the same with Calvin, RWhite and Wayne. Wayne has been on my bench for the last several weeks. The guy just doesnt seem to show up when you expect he should, then plays well in games that seem like a good bench week. You can rely on Calvin for 10-15 nearly every week, with the occasional blow up in the 20s.

My bigger "problem" is at RB. Can only start two, with ADP, Turner, Jacobs, Chris Johnson all fighting for the spot. I refuse to sit ADP unless he is hurt so that leaves one spot between Turner, Jacobs and Johnson. Earlier in the year I couldnt guess right to save my life. Last couple weeks have gone better, but it is extremely frustrating to see 20+ on the bench if you guess wrong.

This is the problem I was getting at. I have Turner, Addai, Chris Johnson and Slaton along with the three WR mentioned above. I should be undefeated, instead my lineup decisions have cost me a few games. Let's hear from more with the same issues!

I traded away Westbrook in a dynasty league after it got to the point I expected an injury every time I saw him with the ball.

I feel your pain. Imagine my problem, I have Portis, Addai, Thomas Jones, and Burner Turner and can only start two!! I've been going crazy all season. Sometime I get it right, sometime I don't. :goodposting:

I have to decide which 2 to start between ADP, Gore, and Forte. Gore has been making the decision a little easier lately.

Fun problem to have.

I have Peterson and Johnson as my starting RBs, with Chester Taylor and Leon Washington as their backups. It's a ppr+return yardage league, making Washington fairly valuable, but we don't have a flex so I've never been able to take advantage of his big weeks. The more frustrating problem I have is what to do with my WRs. I have to pick three out of Marshall, Housh, Colston, Ginn, and Jackson. I leave big points on the bench every week because I have too many quality receivers and not enough starting spots. This week I have Jackson on my bench(*&&^&^^&!!!). The last two weeks I've had Colston on my bench and he's totaled 7/176/1. The week before that I started Colston and Jackson, and Houshmandzadeh and Ginn went crazy. Likewise, Ginn had a big week the week before that one, sitting on my bench, and he outscored each of my three starters. It's maddening.

I have Smith as well. I now call him my "1 yard wonder" for his uncanny ability to get tackled a the 1. I believe with last weeks 2 "1 yard wonders",that gives him 4-5 on the year. He's the ultimate jump out of your seat in excitment and then immediatly bury your face in your hands WR in the NFL.

Yeah its frustrating when you have analyzed and selected the best roster of players compared to the other owners but can't get the right starters into the game week to week to generate the winning points. In my 14 owner dynasty team, there is a guy who easily has the best roster top to bottom but has missed the playoffs and finished 3rd from the bottom in points scored and record. If you could have counted his bench points, he'd be in 1st or 2nd place. The guy who is in 1st place has great starters but his bench is so bad, most all of his bench players aren't even playing in the NFL...their either on practice squads, 4th deep at a position, IR or now playing in Canada or something. Talk about lucky. IF 1 or 2 starters fall to injury in the playoffs, he's in for a world of hurt.

Steve Smith is a blast to watch. His routes are quick and precise, he's got great YAC ability - he can take one to the house anytime. It's too bad they don't target him more purely from a highlight reel perspective.

That's the point. He's such a stud player that is underutilized.

I had the same problem at RB for a while...LT, ADP, and Bush, which was tough at the beginning of the year. Then, I thought I got "smart" and traded Bush for Tony G (needed serious TE help, and really thought he'd get traded and blow up) right after the Bush injury, and before Tony blew up. I still feel good about this trade, but man - it'd be nice to be able to make a decision with Bush and LT this year.
