Two QB league with inflated QB points, draft strategy? (1 Viewer)

So my two QB league went through a slew of conversation this league but we're keeping it at two QBs. The conversation, however, really made me look at how much QBs are valued and what the draft strategy might be.

Start 2 QBs, 2 WRs, 2 RBs, TE, WR/RB/TE flex, team D.

25 pass yds/pt

25 rec yds/pt

10 rush yds/pt

0.5 pts per rec

6 points all TDs

Clearly QBs run away with this league and WRs don't. The league has been coming to grips with it, but maybe not as much as we should. Calvin Johnson still went in the first round last year, even though all the number crunching says he should probably go in the fourth.

What's the strategy here? If you have a late pick, is it crazy go something like Rivers/Dalton around the bend? It looks so awkward but maybe it's the smart thing to do?

Looks like you want to put all your resources into QB & RB. I might use my first 8 picks on 3 QBs & 5 RBs. Then patch together a mediocre receiving corps.

Using a snake draft with that league format feels criminal. It's too heavy at QB for my tastes, but I think an auction with those rules would be pretty interesting.

BTW, how the hell did that scoring format get decided on in the first place? Almost seems like someone made a typo and didn't bother changing it even after noticing the issue.

Weird league.

For scarcity and scoring, unless Calvin falls to the mid-2nd, I'd probably be going QB/RB until all of the legit guys are taken.

It started like most 2 QB leagues do. The commish wanted the value of players to more closely resemble "real life," in that QBs should be worth more than everyone else. I never quite understood the nerfing WRs, though. One owner lobbied pretty heavily to make it 10 rec yds/pt, but to no avail. The reasoning is that rec yds are QB dependent so shouldn't be rewarded as heavily, though I think it's more just inertia.

Another wanted to make it auction because the top 2-3 QBs represent way too much value to be fair. Looking back on it, I think he's probably right, but we decided not to. On the other hand, aside from those top couple of QBs, everything else shakes out pretty much as expected, just with WRs being more worthless. Last year QB3 had about the same value as RB1. So maybe if I don't get one of the top 3 picks, I shouldn't worry about crazy strategy as much.

pretty much. I would get 2 qbs and 3 rbs before I took a wr, and if someone like jimmy graham gronk or jt was there I would take them first before a wr.
