Trying something a little different. Looking for active owners that will help brainstorm this league format before we begin.

Tycoon FOOTBALL Dynasty Fantasy Football League

Basic Concept:

Income & Payroll: In addition to the head to head games, teams earn money for every point scored each week and players are paid weekly with the hopes they score enough points to cover their salary plus make the team a profit. Players earn $1k per point scored, so if your paying a RB $15k a week to play, you profit from anything over 15 points per game. Owners will have to gamble on the value of their players, paying them enough to keep them from being stolen in the off season, but not paying them so much that the team loses money. The salary cap is whatever the team can afford. Moneyball type roster building options. More cash on hand means you can afford to pay higher prices for key or favorite players and all players are available to the owner who can afford to pay. A different take on salary cap.

Off Season Auctions: During the off-season, owned players can be nominated for auction in month long auctions to allow all owners to bid on hiring players away from other teams by offering the player a pay raise. Players always play for the team that offers them the best salary. This allows owners to hire better players and fill holes by raiding their competition's off season roster while also having to protect their own.

League Size: 10 - 12 teams.

Draft: Serpentine Draft -or- Auction (league decides)

Roster: 20 players: 10 Starters + 10 Bench.

Starters: (Superflex) 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 Super Flex (QB/RB/WR), 1 Flex (RB/WR/TE), 1 TE, 1 K, & 1 Def.

Scoring: Standard Scoring + 0.5 PPR.

Continuous Waivers: All unowned players are on continuous waivers from July 1st until the end of the season. Pre-Season: 7-day FAAB waivers. During the season, 2-day FAAB auction.

Franchise Income & Payroll: Each Tuesday, 1) Owners automatically receive income from their starting lineup's points the previous week (rounded to the nearest $1,000). 2) Teams automatically pay their players (starters & bench are paid, but not the DL). This will be handled by the Commish/League Accountant and publicly posted, the owners do not have to make any actions. Player remain on the roster until they are auctioned away, traded, or dropped.

Off-Season Auctions: Beginning April 1st, owned players from any roster can be nominated to be auctioned to the entire league. Owners can nominate any owned players until the 7th of each month. Limit of 1 player nominated per owner each month. Owners bid on the forum by offering a raise in the players weekly salary ($1k increments). The owner that nominated the player must bid at least $1k more than the current salary. All bids on the last day of the month are considered simultaneous (to prevent the midnight rush) and ongoing waiver priority will break ties. That player will be move to the winning team's roster. Note: The original owner has the right to match the winning bid to keep the player (must be declared by the 3rd of the next month). Each calendar month, a new round of auctions begin. Auctions will be held on a private forum or subreddit. Players can only be auctioned once per year, once they have been auctioned they are 'safe' for the rest of the year. Off Season auctions will run from April to June, when the league Waivers open on July 1st and owned players are off limits for the remainder of the season,

Dropped Players: Dropped players go to waivers as normal and all owners can bid. The previous owner can bid, this is considered renegotiating the salary of an overpriced player. Dropping a player removes the 'safe' tag.

Trading, Buying, & Selling: Trades occur as normal & are a good option to prevent pay raises or to raise cash. Players can be traded for cash and/or players. However, the total value of cash/players asked for in a trade is capped to 3 times the weekly salary of the player(s). For example, if you want to trade a RB that is paid $10k per week, you can only ask for $30k in any combination of player value & money (prevents collusion). Player value is his current weekly salary.

Start Up Draft: Each draft round has a predetermined pay scale. -or- **Start Up Auction:** Weekly FAAB auction running in July and August.

Rookie Draft: No need. Owners will start 7-day FAAB auctions when Waiver open on July 1st.

Empire Dynasty: When a team wins two championships (consecutive or not, league choice), the league completely reboots. Without this rule, the league would lose parity when some teams become wealthy enough to buy all the talent and other teams become unable to compete on the field. Any league format changes (rule changes, owner changes, etc) take place only at the reboot.

Bankruptcy: Teams that cannot pay their salaries are considered bankrupt. Owners can sell, trade, or dump overpriced players & replace them with cheaper alternatives to prevent bankruptcy. If a team does not have enough cash on hand to pay its weekly payroll, it has until midnight Friday to raise the cash (no loans). If unsuccessful, the team is deem bankrupt and the owner is banned from the league for the current and next season. The team will be given to a new owner and the franchise will be compensated with cash to bring the team up to league's average franchise value. Franchise value is a team's weekly payroll + cash on hand.
